I found this place on yelp as I was passing through town. Wow! What a find! Don't let the strip mall fool you. And the place is a little worn like it has been around. But the food is excellent. The guacamole appetizer was so fresh and big chunks of avocado. Probably the best guacamole I have ever had. The carnitas were out of this world. Service was super friendly and helpful. The drink special was a picture of beer for five dollars. A picture of the Dos Equies Amber for just five bucks! My dinnermate had some kind of steak dish and he enjoyed it very much. Great food, generous portions, huge menu, reasonable prices. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this strip plaza restaurant. Our cute server Graycie couldn't have been more attentive. She was so nice and checked back with us to ensure we never wanted fior anything. Birria is recommended. Shrimp fajitas were flavorful. I love this place! I have visited family a few times and always go to Mi Jalisco at least once before I leave! I wish this place would move down to florida haha! The margarita is insane! I don't remember how to order it... but I get the large margarita no salt! The pic is below! It is HUGE! I love it! It is yummy and strong! We all know how I love a strong margarita! I usually get the fajita burrito which the pic is below, but now I am in love with their carne asada! I hate when steak is chewy but theirs is so yummy and easy to chew! We arrived on what should have been a busy time around 630pm, only one other table was there and was finished eating. Saw 5 staff, we got a table as soon as we walked in and chips/drinks. No problems so far. After that its like we werent even there. Two staff kept bantering with the table that were finished and couldnt have cared less about us. Never came over to take our order. No wonder why no one was there. We left. We went to retro mexican afterwards, I was told the owner of retro used to work at this place. Retro was packed and amazing. We haven't ever had a bad experience here ! The service is Very good ! The food is very well prepared and delicious. We have tried many different things on the menu. I'm happy to be able to speak some Spanish for some that struggle with English, however, that struggle does not stop ANY one there for communication for sure ! One waitress showed me her point of sale unit with two options for side dishes. She said both words clearly ! Bless her heart. The salsa they serve with the chips as soon as you sit down basically , is really good, not hot at all, but I like HOT I always asked for extra salsa that was hotter. Today our waitress asked me if I wanted the guajillo or the habanero salsa. Well ,,, I didn't know they had the habanero! So I asked for that one. Just to say in fewer words than I want to ,,, IT WAS FREAKING DELICIOUS! !! !! I ate it with a spoon even I for sure dumped what was left on my take out box. I might dream of this HOT sauce before I get to go back as I live about an hour away. But for sure, I will ask for it again. The food is okay and the service is nice. Overall not the best in Jasper but if you're in a hurry it will do in a pinch.

This place is. AWESOME. I would take a trip from Indy to Jasper just to eat this chimichanga again. The staff was so friendly and kind to our kiddo, which we always appreciate. They also blend your margarita to order... No weak sauce here! The food was flavorful with enough spice to be authentic, but not so much to offend our white peepo palates. We came here on a trip to southern indiana and enjoyed it. I have super high standards for Mexican food and am pretty critical. This place passed. Is it the best I've ever had? No, but like I said, I'm critical. I had the enchiladas tequilas (basically enchiladas in queso) and they were fine. The best part of the meal was the salsa - it was incredible. Waiter forgot about us. The iPad ordering wasn't working so he had to write order on paper. He then forgot about us and couldn't bring a bill or total our 2 orders with water. We were left to sit waiting for a way to pay, so we searched for him, gave him cash, and left. Will not return. read more

Food is awesome. Got overcharge. Ordered a beer and wife ordered a vodka diet. They brought out two beers, told waiter wife wanted the vodka. They took beer back and brought her drink. Finished my beer, they asked if I wanted another, I said no, and they plopped the one they brought out earlier on the table and patted me on the back. Got charged for both anyway. As a creature of habit, I was hesitant to explore a Mexican restaurant outside of the one I typically eat at in town. However, I am so glad I was introduced to Mi Jalisco; I was so pleasantly surprised! To start out, their chips and salsa were great, and their mixed drink menu has so many options! I chose one of their many margaritas and thought it was delicious! As my meal, I ordered their "Burrito Chipotle", which is much different from my normal "Chicken on the Beach/Arroz con Pollo" that I tend to order at Mexican restaurants. I was SO pleased with the burrito I chose and the sides that it came with! The service was outstanding, and they made my mom feel special for her birthday that we were there celebrating! Up in Jasper today when we stopped in @ 2pm. Nice music, happy vibe in the place. After church crowd still in attendance, high conversational level reflecting happy people. Swaying to the music, had a waitress ask me to dance! Had a Mahi Mahi dish with mushrooms, shrimp, rice, cheese sauce etc. Exceptionally good! The better half enjoyed her luncheon chimis. I definitely recommend Mi Jalisco. Don't know how long they've been there (we live @ an hour away) or why they're so few reviews. Made us wonder (at first) are the eight reviews of record family or friends (lol). Well, we are not either but feel like friends now following this fun dining experience with GREAT food! This place is okay and extremely loud whenever we come here. First I got a delicious margarita that was fruity and on the rocks. Next we ordered guacamole that came out a lime green color and it tasted funky and bitter. I'd rather them tell me they're out of guac and wait for the avocados to ripen up! Everything I have eaten here has been beautifully presented and delicious. They have creative entrees like a hollowed out pineapple half filled with a variety of meats, fruit and veggies.
