Adopted a dog through Barely Used Pets on a Saturday, and Monday I had to pay to get him…read moreeuthanized. I adopted him at 10 weeks (which I believe is too young but the dog's parent were not at shelter). I was deceived by the workers who said the puppy was very healthy, he only needed his rabies shot). He seemed to have had kennel cough which I was going to make an appointment for. Sadly his symptoms were too bad to wait for a vet so I took him to the ER. Thousands of dollars later, they said his kennel cough turned into severe pneumonia and they said his chances of survival were extremely low even with treatment. I am heart broken for my puppy who was failed by the people who surrendered him and also this shelter the puppy ended up at. He also had two siblings who are currently still at the shelter who probably have severe pneumonia now too. I do not recommend Barely Used Pets.

You don't deserve even that!…read moreI had an equine life threatening emergency February 25, 2021 I called and spoke to triage person who said you'd call me within 30 minutes I told her my horse was going to die tonight if i didn't find a VET to help him. You were the closet to him and could've probably saved his life with early intervention. Never received a call back so after an hour passed I called again. Once again she said she'd call you and have you call me. I explained to her my horse had colicked and it was life threatening. My family and I spent 2 hours on 5 phones calling and begging for help. we finally found a VET to come from 1.5 hours away, but they were willing and I gladly accepted any help for him. I still held out hope that YOU WOULD CALL & COME HELP HIM. This DR. Had originally said no because of the distance but they called me back an hour later which by then we were over 2 hours into this emergency but they cared enough to call and come help him. Precious time had been ticking away. Almost 5 hours into his emergency they arrived assessed and treated him. It was colic. I can rest easy knowing that I, a nurse not a VET did all I could for him. If you don't want to handle large animal emergencies then you shouldn't offer that service. You should ALWAYS CALL YOUR CLIENTS BACK NO MATTER WHAT!! I have been a long time client of yours Dr KING and I am very disappointed. My beloved horse died, he didn't have to. You were the closet to him and likely could've saved him If you had cared enough to call and come try! I'm going to suggest you read the oath you took to refresh your memory. If you can't live up to it then you need to make a decision. I called your office Friday to complain about the very poor customer service. You should've at least called me back I continued to hang on to false hope that you were going to call and likely would come knowing my horse was going to die without emergency help. I told the triage girl that this was a life threatening emergency and without help he was going to die! At this writing I still have not received a phone call from you or your office. You need to run this case through a quality assurance review to ensure that this never happens again! My BELOVED HORSE DIED IS THE OUTCOME. HIS NAME WAS BROGAN AND I LOVED HIM WITH ALL OF MY HEART AND SOUL! Remember his name is BROGAN AND HIS death is blood on your hands. You should be ashamed! We started training our pup here and was not disappointed with the knowledge we have received to…read moremake him a better dog. We went through a fear stage with our shepherd which we have never experienced with our other dog. They were able to help us through this stage and help find what works for him and to over come things that were an issue. He use to pull on the leash and now we can walk nicely on a leash on one side. Any questions or concerns we had or have they were able to answer and help with. We see a big difference in our dog vs when we first enrolled him into training. They teach you to train your dog, so you know what you need to do. We worked with Kyla and she was great. We are currently in group classes and Kyle, Kyla, and Brian have all been great. The group classes have really helped with dog reactivity and working around distractions. They are all patient and very knowledgeable, especially with our working breed shepherd. I highly recommend this place and we will continue to go here with any future pup.
