The events start at 2 PM & today was considered the national wrangler patriot day here. We paid our admission, it was $35 pp for the day & were given a day sheet listing the events. We watched the bareback riding, breakaway, down, and bronco roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronco, bull riding, Barrel racing and even a contest for the best overall cowboy. There were over 100 Cowboys from all over the country participating and there were lots of well cared for animals. There was a large crowd with many families present. I heard many languages. The country music played and cowboy hats were the look. There was a children's corner with the petting zoo, bounce rides, and a ride the bull. We shared a bbq brisket plate with cold slaw, ,Mac & cheese with a slice of white bread. I should have packed water and sandwiches. The Porta potties were pretty gross, I'm glad I brought my own paper.

The baby goats were adorable. We watched them eat for a while. They had many food trucks to choose from and carnival rides as well. The line dancing was great. I would definitely come back for that. The 4H organization was talking $5 donations for parking. That is a wonderful organization that teaches children about frowning plants and raising animals. Definitely a good cause.

I won't go to a rodeo because I don't find abusing animals entertaining but a craft show on the other hand is right up my alley. This is an annual event sponsored by the town of Davie. The event was advertised as having 100 vendors. I don't think there were quite that many but they had a lot. Admission and parking were free. The tents filled the rodeo arena and outside it as well. People were selling plants, floral arrangements, zombie soup mix, jewelry, lights in alcohol bottles, soap, dream catchers, a tiny fairy garden, woodwork, stained glass, baked goods, clothes, bags, and a myriad of other hand made goods. They also had food and drink vendors and bounce houses and kids corner activities for children . The grounds were perfect for the craft show. There were plenty of clean bathrooms. The weather was gorgeous, the vendors were varied, and with the upcoming holidays it was the perfect time to shop. It is good to support the local arts community. This is a nice hometown event perfect for kids and adults.

Our favorite eatery there so far is Michael's Genuine Food & Drink. In case you are interested, the flagship stores for major fashion houses are Balenciaga, Dior, Gucci, Celine, and Louis Vuitton for clothing and accessories, and jewelers are Cartier and Harry Winston. This festival finally stepped it up after providing the Open Bar Option for $40. The open bar included: Wine, Vodka, Whiskey, Rum, Energy drinks, soft drinks and water. You still have to purchase food which was a little expensive. But if you purchased your tickets early you were able to save on the open bar option. The lounge in the VIP area had a live DJ, lounge areas and air conditioned bathrooms. We went with a group of friends without the kids and had a really nice time! We really hope they continue to offer this option for next year. Parking is $20 so you may consider taking an Uber especially if you are going to drink.

I loved the giveaways that Chase, La Croix and DoorDash did. Chase had this fun memory activity and they give you a free pin for playing and La Croix had this beautiful set up for pictures. They were also giving out complimentary tote bag, cellphone pop socket, cap of your choice and various flavors of LaCroix during the whole event. I also loved how they gave free Dasani waters at water stands or at any bar. As to the food, Edan Bistro by Cotoa was delicious. I tried the green plantain croqueta with coconut shrimp, grilled txuleton steak, basque cheesecake and dark Ecuadorian chocolate brownie. Everything was so tasty but my favorite were definitely the desserts. The Cowy Burger by The Salty was delicious. The savory taste of the burger with the donut buns paired very well together. I also tried the beignet hot and sweet chicken sandwich at Willie Mae's Scotch House and it was very good. The chicken was seasoned very well and it paired so well with the beignets. The bacon and fig pizza and margarita pizza at L'Industrie was also very tasting. I truly enjoyed eating all of it. They had this event where you can ask questions to the editors and win some more prizes, in addition to DJ and some entertainers who played instruments. First off, the exclusive collabs were insane. You're getting dishes from some of the best restaurants that you literally can't try anywhere else. Like, c'mon--Community Goods coffee from LA in Miami, and in collaboration with Boia De? That alone was worth the $25 ticket. Second, the prices were actually fair compared to other festivals, and the food quality was top-tier. I had the best ice cream ever, plus coffee, pizza, and a burger that all seriously delivered. You need to prepare for your stomach to work overtime. Third, the entertainment was way beyond what I expected from a food festival. I mean, everyone's here to eat, so I didn't have high hopes--but then we ended up front row for a 40-minute Hasan Minhaj stand-up set. A ticket for that alone would've been like $100 in the back row. And at Eeeeeatscon we got the full experience and a picture with him. And lastly, the amount of free merch we got from both the festival and sponsors was crazy. And we only had regular tickets, not VIP! We even spotted the editors of The Infatuation casually walking around. The only downside? Some food sold out way before the festival was even halfway through--unfortunately, exactly the things I was most excited to try. Davie helped the then Florida Governor Napoleon Bonaparte Broward to drain the swamplands. Davie then bought 27,000 acres and built a school. The Davie Schoolhouse opened in 1918 and it is now Broward county's oldest existing school building. The people of Zona were so grateful that in 1916 they changed the name of Zona to Davie in his honor. Davie has always been known as a Western town and you can see it in the architecture of many of the buildings today. A western theme park called Pioneer City was once located across the street from Flamingo Gardens but it closed in the 1960's. Davie hasn't forgotten it's western roots however. It is after all home to the Bergeron Rodeo. Davie has come a long way since it was a piece of the Everglades. It is now home to over 103,000 residents over 35 square miles. It is the location of many colleges and technical centers including Nova Southeastern University, Florida Atlantic University, and Broward College. Points of interest in Davie is the botanical park Flamingo Gardens and the Young at Art Museum. it is said the best piece of Key Lime pie can be had at Bob Roth's New River Groves. When Davie was settled it's economy was based almost entirely on farm land and cattle. Now the agriculture and cows are disappearing. No matter how built up Davie gets you can still find the alligators of the Everglades in the town's many nature parks.
