My name is Andres Alvarez, I have contacted the office several times to take care of a bill that I have been receiving twice for the last 45 days. 3 weeks ago I contacted 18004344111 and spoke to a representative, which ended saying that he was taking care of everything and that it was a misunderstanding between the office and my insurance company. So, right now I just got the bill again saying I AM PAST DUE 30 to 60 days. I request Dr schiffman and/or his staff to take care of this as soon as possible as it will create repercussions in my credit history. Okay I understand this is a difficult time with Covid so I used the office online booking. After making my appointment and clearing my schedule for the appointment date, the office canceled me via email, no call, no reschedule, no other contact. I waited a few days and called the office several times and was waiting for 10-15 minutes before I decided to leave a voice mail requesting a return call to schedule a appointment.... and you guessed it...no reply. It's been 3 weeks now and no interest by the office to reply to a new patient. Needless to say I have made a appointment with another doctor because this office lacks organizational skills and is very unprofessional. Take heed in the other reviews, they are not wrong in saying this office staff is unprofessional. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the doctor as I never got a chance to meet with him. Dr. Schiffman is the best dermatologist. I recommend him and his PA Alex Fernandez-Sastre to EVERYONE that I know. (Alex is the best at injecting anything and everything. If you get scared of needles, I HIGHLY recommend her.) The office is always clean. The front desk is always kind and accommodating. I cannot say enough about them! I get both dermatological issues dealt with and laser hair removal here. Their laser tech is wonderful and compassionate. You can schedule your appointment online! Incompetent staff almost never answers the phone and I had to leave like 15 voicemails to get a call back after a few weeks. Doctor tries to upsell for things you don't even need. Not sure what all the 5 star reviews are, but I will be sure to tell everyone I know what a piece of garbage this office is. read more

In my first appointment they wanted to do a biopsy. Because I do not have insurance, I asked how much the procedure was going to be. I paid the full amount. 2 weeks later I received another bill. After sending two emailed that were ignored, I went to the office and asked. They said the bill had nothing to do with them and I had to paid it. After fighting with them they agreed to lower the bill. When I went back to the office to see my biopsy result, they wanted to charge me again to say the result. They charge you to check you and then again to give you the results. read more

Initial review and the other reviews are correct. You need to ask if you are seeing the Doctor himself or a PA when you make your appt. TH/F no doctor. Tuesday is surgery day. I was early, as asked, and filled out the paperwork in short order. I waited about 15 minutes past my appt time so that is ok, except I was "the first appt after lunch" so what the hold up was is unknown to me. I was greeted by the Nurse and a bit irritating they asked the same questions I answered on the paperwork and she appeared to input it into the iPad in her hand. The PA came in and started my full body screening. However,​ they do not screen all of you. Not sure what the issue is about screening those areas covered by underwear if you know what I mean. I can't see all my part and pieces. They actually missed a skin tag on the back of my right knee.....Ummmm got to wonder. They took four biopsies and were very attuned​ to making sure I scheduled my next appointment when the Dr is in. I appreciate that. They could have cauterized​​ and covered up my biopsy​ sites but they still bled through and got on my clothes.......so they need to do a better job in that regard. The front​ office was very friendly and thanked me for my service, which is a nice touch. They gave me a complete copy of the notes which appeared to be a bit of boilerplate but nice to​ have a copy when I​ left ​.More to follow as I have my next appt in two weeks. Dr. Schiffman is the absolute best! This is my second time going to him (not including a follow up consultation from the original appointment). Both times I got dysport injections in my forehead and smile lines (pretty much the same thing as botox, just a different manufacturer). Dr. Schiffman was extremely attentive in listening to exactly what I wanted and needed and assured me that if I had any issues or needed more injections down the line that I could come back in a few weeks and he would tweak it for me. Turns out I didn't need to tweak anything because it was perfect. He is an artist of the face and is extremely careful not to overdo it (no one wants that frozen look or a droopy eyelid from too much!!). Results were completely natural looking (I can still move my face and make expressions) yet my forehead was completely smooth. Couldn't ask for better! He also offers various specials at different times for his established patients, which is the only reason I can afford to do these types of procedures. Aside from cosmetics, he also did a full body scan and did a biopsy on a small abnormal freckle. I also showed him a very large vericose vein on my leg, because he does laser treatments for small vericose veins. He was extremely honest and did not try to sell me on his laser treatment. He told me that I would not be happy with the results because of the size of my vein and that I should see a vein specialist. That kind of honesty is what keeps people coming back. You know anything he offers you is truly going to work the best for you! Needless to say, Dr. Schiffman is the only dermatologist I will continue to see and will continue to recommend to everyone!! read more

Okay somehow I thought I yelped this dermatologist but I believe I just did my research through some other site. Needless to say Dr Lawrence Schiffman is pretty cool. This was my first time coming here after going through two other dermatologists. It's exhausting especially when I need to figure out what's going on w/my skin. Once I entered the suite, it is very nice. Clean and contemporary, very Miami. There was not a lot of paperwork that needed to be filled as a new patient which was awesome. I arrived early and actually got to get seen early. Once I was in the waiting room there was Dr Schiffman's assistant. I forgot her name but she was nice. She took all my info on the ipad and really took her time. I even made some lame jokes and she laughed. Once Dr. Schiffman came in he was pretty cool. I must say he has some beautiful ocean blue eyes. He was very nice and first wanted to know how I knew about him. I told him I Yelped him but I guess I didn't. Oh well, kudos to YELP. LOL Anyways, he told me the issue about my skin and about some acne I was concerned with. I honestly never had acne (til that time of month, I know TMI) but lately I've been having acne that just wont go away. So he explained to me what it was and how he would help. He does talk really fast but not in a fast way as if he was rushing me. After his treatment, I stayed back with his assistant and sat w/her for a while. She was gathering a whole bunch of info and I was in no rush. One thing I did find bothersome was the front desk girls. There are two of them and they're really nice but while I was leaving and trying to gather all the info, they just kept on talking about their personal business. I mean I was not in a rush to leave but please just take care of what I need and let me go. Instead I heard about paying for a hotel, someone's boyfriend pays for a car, the other girl questioning her why she would do that and so on. No big deal but I think your attention should be on the customer then you can continue your chit chat when I'm done. I called this office today trying to schedule an appointment. Daphne a.k.a MORON answered, GEEZ was she having a bad morning, (not my fault). If that is the attitude I have to deal with, I will not set foot in this office. Perhaps your appointment phone staff need customer service training. The office looks nice, the wait time was minimal and Dr. Schiffman's assistant was also good. I scheduled my apt to see Dr. Shiffman, nonetheless, when I arrived, I was actually seeing the PA NOT the doctor, huge difference. I later found out that he's not in the office on Friday's. The PA does not let you speak, she immediately tries to sale you everything in their inventory. I was there for several concerns, however, she focused on the one that will profit their office the most . Ive been to some of the best cosmetic/dermatology offices in the Brickell/ Miami Beach area and never have I ever felt such repulse by the service I've received. Two thumbs down!!! read more

I had a very bad experience. On my first appointment after I filled all the information, I was told the do not take my insurance plan. I had previously called and gave all my information. I was even referred by my primary doctor. I wasted almost an hour. I don't understand why they did not do their job and made sure my insurance was covered by their office. read more

I booked my appt as a NEW patient for 1:00pm, immediately after the office lunch hour and I was told by the scheduling dept that I would be the first person to be seen as I would need to be leaving by 1:30pm to go to work. This was the not the case. The office admitted three other people ahead of me! The front desk girl said the doctor was quick, and it would only be a few minutes, but at 1:25pm, none of those people had left yet. I decided to leave b/c my time was completely disrespected and the first impression left on this new patient who was looking to start a new relationship with this office was incredibly poor. The front desk girls kept chatting about how they wanted to leave Miami and how one was sunburned from a recent trip (kind of ironic in a dermatology office)....it was unprofessional behavior that shouldn't be loud enough to be overheard by everyone in the waiting room. As a new patient, I wasn't even properly greeted. I sat there after signing in for 15 min without even being acknowledged, even though the window was open....the girls just wanted to talk about their gossip. Very unprofessional office. Have been to this doctor before but this is my first time reviewing. Office is immaculate and what you would expect a high end medical office to look like. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. The wait time and check in process was seamless and everything was electronic which made matters easier. In terms of treatment, I've been here for a few different issues and each time they were resolved quickly with Dr. Schiffman's care and recommendations.
