I asked my dogs veterinarian about my hyper active dog, whom I CANNOT get him to get enough meat on his bones, that he's fed very well with excellent food and continues to look like skin and bones. His veterinarian stayed later than necessary, tired, and worked out a good feeding plan, even after I offered to just make an appointment for her to look at him. But she advised me to change diet to such and such for a period of time, then we'd re-evaluate. Meanwhile if I feel the need for contacting her during this trial period, she will respond as she always does-- in a most reasonable time. I have been going to Micanopy Animal Hospital for more years than I can remember. Not only the doctors are well beyond the normal care and concern for their animal patients, but they listen with great concern and care to the pet owners. MAH has never been less than above and beyond in the care of the animal patient care and concern for the pet owner. All the staff is well trained and extremely caring about their work. I've never had a bad experience with their care, even in death of a pet. MAH is the best and even if I wanted to move away, I wouldn't because I wouldn't take my beloved pets elsewhere. S. After meeting the staff at the Micanopy festival, I decided to try them out. They fit me in on an extremely busy Saturday to look at my girl and her pups. To provide her with a sense of security they let us take over the consult room and even gave Athena a bandana with some calming pheromones that enabled her to relax and even nap while we waited. We had an emergency situation with our Boston Terrier, and called Micanopy Animal Hospital at the last minute when as it happened, they were extremely busy working on another emergency. They were so gracious and had us come in immediately, as we had explained our little girl was in pain and suffering. Dr. Molly Pearson could not have been more professional, caring and compassionate as she tended to our pet. As we had opted to wait in our vehicle, a lovely young lady brought water out to us and explained what was happening. Such comfort and warmth was shown to us that I felt compelled to write this lengthy review. I was recommended this place by many reptile keepers in my town, and I can definitely say Micanopy Animal Hospital is worth the drive as it exceeded my expectations. They were extremely welcoming even before walking through the doors with a sign welcoming each patient of the day by name. Once inside, the place felt very home-y and the tech at the counter was very pleasant and helpful. It did not take long to get into the examination room and have my turtle examined for a clean bill of health. Their examination rates are reliably consistent for a decent price. After leaving, they called me several times checking up to make sure everything was still alright and my girl was still healthy. It's a month later and she's still doing great. I will add that it took a few reschedulings to get my turtle in, but I do not fault them for any of it. It happened to be around holiday season and only one vet sees reptiles. In addition, thank you, Dr. Pearson. You were great! I will definitely be back if there are any more turtle issues. read more

I would not recommend this vet. Poor customer service. Heartless!! My dogs were boarded over the weekend. When I dropped them off I requested my one dog be seen by the vet due to her anxiety disorder plus she was out of her trazodone medication. The vet DID NOT examine her because she felt like my dog was doing fine without her medication. I've had her for 7 years and they had her for 2 1/2 days and can make that kind of decision??!! She suffers daily!!!! They said, I can leave her for an extra 24 hours for them to monitor her and pay an additional $99 but they felt like she was ok. My pets are my children AND I know my own dog. They completely lack communication skills on listening to pet owners. Mt pets did not obviously go potty over the coarse of the weekend they were left. When I arrived home, both my dogs pooped 9 times in 3 hours. Please don't leave your pets here. read more

We lost our beloved boy Ming of 8 yrs on October 30, 2018. We blame in part his early passing from CHF to this Vet office. We spent a fortune only to here we had no diagnosis for him and after multiple trips there and phone consultations with Molly Pearson and her staff. They were aware that Ming was already diagnosed with beginning stages of heart failure, but they took too long to get him on the meds he needed. They always wanted to subject him to more tests. Our hearts are broken and we are angry at the very cold and indifferent attitude we felt we received from this Vet. We did not even receive a Sympathy card from them after his death. This office is clearly in business for the money and not interested in compassion for the precious pets that they treat and their human .family. read more

We recently moved to the area when our sweet old boy Utley started having some problems, and we hadn't established a new vet yet. I called Micanopy Animal Hospital and they got us in that very day. Dr. Berisha helped us to make the difficult decision to say good-bye to our old boy, and she and the staff could not have been sweeter. I cannot say enough about the compassion and care that we received from both Dr. Berisha and the entire staff. This used to be the best place, but lately things have changed; I order food and pre pay and they don't call me to tell me it was in, I call the day after I was told it would be in and it is sold to someone else. I had to go out of my way to get the food from somewhere else and ended up paying 35.00 more than what I had already paid out for it here! The price of medicine keeps going up.
