Amazing. Breathtaking. High Quality. The Photoshoot in itself was easy, that was even with my 1 and 3 year sons! Michael was super friendly and welcoming, easy going and worked amazingly with the kids. He was gentle and kind when giving instructions on where to stand and what to do. Michael Anthony is objectively a great photographer and is a gifted artist. Where the business falls short is their approach to customer interaction. My wife and I mainly dealt with Courtney, who I believe is the office manager. We were up front at the beginning on planning a portrait session that we wanted digital prints and while she said in multiple conversations they don't normally do that, we could work something out. That wasn't true. Courtney sent text updates to get ready for the shoot that weren't specific to our objective. She also suggested that we get hair and makeup done at Southern California based companies (the studio is in McKinney, TX). We sent a pintrest board to her per her recommendation and it wasn't passed along, and she sent follow up texts suggesting we make one after we sent it. Presumably these were automated texts that are not updated or managed. For our reveal session she cancelled 1 hour before we were supposed to meet, the session had been scheduled for 10 days. For our follow up session she was 10 minutes late. In the end, the company was unwilling to work with us on selling digital files. The entire process was a waste of our time and a waste of time for Michael Anthony Photography. Overall Michael Anthony is a great photographer, but the office is beyond difficult to work with. read more

I wanted to have some photos with my kids to put up on our walls. I made an appointment with Michael Anthony Photography to capture our family portraits. I was a little nerve as my kids are 2 and 4, I didn't know if there'll behave well, and be in photo taking mood. We got to the studio and right away Michael and Jen were sooooo great with my kids. They made my kids so comfortable. Jen had so much behind the scenes entertainment for them, that it was so easy to get great photos. I was so happy with the entire experience. I responded to their promotion for a photo session with my dog, and my overall experience was positive. Staff were super friendly and professional, and the photos came out wonderful! My only deduction was due to scheduling issues, as it seems their scheduling system was being very glitchy for when I scheduled my shoot, and when I scheduled my follow up online gallery viewing. However, the team was very responsive in rectifying the issues and ended up being a minor inconvenience. Shoot & Location: My photographer (I think Jenn?) was so wonderful! I arrived to their spacious studio, and unfortunately was not shown as schedule for a session, but she took me in right away once she confirmed my information. And as soon as she met my German Shepherd they connected immediately, since she also owns one! It was such a relief because she understood the nature of the breed and worked so well with my dog. The shoot was so fun, she gave him so much space to explore and take pauses in between snaps, and she captured some beautiful posed photos, but my favorites were all our candid moments that showed off my dog's personality- thank you!! Photos & Photo reveal: Once I was able to get a confirmed spot for the Zoom preview, Courtney connected with me and went through the package offerings once more, she was on time, professional & friendly. Then the anticipated slide show began. It was so fun going through the photos, and Courtney was gave some great advice on print color (ie B&W vs Color) and suggestions for grouping shots, etc. I will say I didn't expect the photos to come with a warranty, but I'm glad they did as the photobox I ended up purchasing is not inexpensive. I wasn't planning to make a purchase because the price point was a bit too high for me (they're very transparent about pricing and give you a preview of their products & prices ahead of time), but the images came out so well that I didn't want to miss the opportunity to have some professional shots of me & the pup. I was running 30 minutes late and Michael was still able take a few great photos of us. A few days after the photoshoot I connected with Courtney to review the photos and they turned out great. I recently had the unfortunate experience of using Michael Anthony Photography for a photo session, and I feel compelled to share my disappointing encounter to warn others considering their services. The first red flag arose during the session when I noticed that the studio was not only unbearably hot but also surprisingly filthy. Dog hairs covered the couch from a previous shoot and combined with dirt on the floor, that thanks to terrible editing, ultimately found their way into the final photos. The lack of cleanliness in the studio was not only unprofessional but also reflected poorly on the overall quality of the service, and when I asked to have the hairs removed for the shoot, I was told that it was okay because it could be edited out. What a JOKE! The issues escalated when I received the edited photos. Shockingly, the editing was done so poorly that half of my beard was missing in the most important family photo that we took, along with a few other pictures. I immediately brought this to the attention of Courtney, the front desk assistant, who seemed genuinely willing to help. Unfortunately, despite multiple attempts to address the editing concerns, the revisions were never up to par. Each time we provided detailed descriptions of the edits to be made, they still failed to do them properly, or sometimes at all. The communication breakdown between the front desk and the editing team resulted in a frustrating back-and-forth process that dragged on for 2 months. I eventually lost patience and handed the reins over to my wife after sending an e-mail of the edits to be made on 8/13, then not hearing back until 9/7 with edits that didn't reflect what I had requested. Adding to the frustration, when I requested a refund due to the consistently poor edits and the excessive time it took to rectify the issues, I was informed that a refund was not possible, leaving me stuck with subpar photos and a sense of regret for choosing Michael Anthony Photography. My experience with Michael Anthony Photography was the most disappointing I've encountered to date. The combination of a dirty studio, poorly executed photo edits, and unsatisfactory customer service makes it difficult for me to recommend this service to anyone seeking professional photography. Proceed with caution and explore other options to ensure a more positive and fulfilling photography experience. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael, I am so happy that you responded to my review without acknowledging that any of my concerns were valid and trying to change the narrative that would make me look like an unreasonable person. Unfortunately for you, this is the hallmark of a bad business owner and savvy Yelpers will know exactly what I mean and judge you accordingly. Your "team" spent over 18 hours of work revising my edits because they are amateurs that have no clue how to do their jobs and sent me "edits" with half my beard missing in multiple photos, outlines around my daughter's face from a swap, hair on the couch in the photo, and hair and dirt in the photo taken on the ground. The time that they spent making edits and still not getting it right to this point is NOT my fault. Nice try to make me seem unreasonable though! Just to be clear, the extra effort to meet my expectations were poor, which is the reason why there's still more to do, and your bad attempts shouldn't warrant extra charges. That's just absurd! I stopped communicating with you because I was at my wit's end with you people and taking a month to respond with terrible edits is unacceptable in any universe. As for cleanliness, it's not a feeling, but it's an experience that I'm reporting about. There was no clean-up after the previous shoot and that couch was covered in dog hair, as was the ground. I even asked for something to remove some of it, since there was so much, and was told that it was okay. I even chose to use my hand to remove some of the dog hair as I found it repulsive sitting in so much hair with my wife and daughter. The only reason that I chose to finish was because my wife wanted so much to have some great family photos, even at the expense of getting dirty in your studio. You should really be ashamed that something like this could happen instead of trying to label me as someone that doesn't love dogs, which is offensive because I have always loved dogs and I have 2 beautiful dogs now. The only difference here is that unlike your studio, I clean my home and furniture before having guests over and I know exactly what a reasonable number of hairs on the ground and couch look like. I stand by my review of my terrible experience, and I will not be reaching out to you for any reason. My wife will take care of it because she has the patience of a saint, though this back-and-forth with your team has tested it. This review is long overdue! We got married in June 2019 and used Michael Anthony as our wedding photographer. Both Michael and Jen were a pleasure to work with! They make a great team! While Michael captures the most creative shots, Jen is working her magic by making sure everything is picture perfect. I'm very selective and picky. I've been around the wedding industry for a while and have come across many different event photographers. Michael's work is truly unique and stands out from the rest. His photography looks more like art. His signature is the way he is able to create and capture beautiful portraits with long veils and dress trains. Overall his work is very cinematic & dramatic. I ordered a few of these signature wedding portraits on canvas and hung it at our house. They look like paintings! We get endless compliments on them when we have guests over. My daughter & I did a "Mommy & Me" photoshoot back in early November with Michael + his wife. The communication with the office staff - Courtney - throughout the whole process was always professional, pleasant & efficient. Booking was extremely easy & the response times were always quick + concise. We were greeted with big beautiful smiles from everyone. Now let me note that my daughter & I have recently been through a huge life change, so she hasn't been the best with new environments. I absolutely needed to write this review because of how welcome we felt & how beautiful the experience was. Their studio had so many props & backdrop setups that made it everything feel so elegant. My daughter was not having an easy time adjusting to the idea of someone taking her photos, but Michael & his wife were prepared for the moment and brought out a bubble machine. Although my daughter still wasn't the most energetic about the whole process, they were still able to capture the MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS of my daughter & I. They were patient & welcoming with us. He is deaf and blind but Michael did an amazing job of still being able to work with my sweet boy and capturing him beautifully. Was super nervous I was going to have to keep rescheduling the session in case my daughter was going to be super fussy (because she CAN be super fussy and uncooperative). When I first hired Michael Anthony Photography, I was surprised how few reviews they had at the time. Our engagement and wedding were some years apart so it has been some time since. Yes, they're all 5 star reviews but I'm now wondering if a lot of people had the same experience as me. I usually jump on an opportunity to help a small business, but I now think I understand why there aren't more reviews even now. Yes, there's even more 5 star reviews now but people looking to hire this studio need to know the real truth. TLDR; photography is oustanding but you'll feel exploited and scammed. This studio is a business and it's more about photography and selling art depicting you but it's not about you. I was very annoyed and upset with this business after our wedding so I waited until now to post a review because I want to be fair. My view hasn't changed. In case you're not aware, Michael Anthony trains photographers to work for him so more likely than not, you'll get assigned other photographers--not Michael Anthony himself. Your photographer likely doesn't have as much expensive equipment or assistants as Michael Anthony because if they did, they wouldn't need to work for him. We LOVED our photographers and their work was phenomenal, but letting you know your photos may not have the same look as the ones posted (nothing photoshop doesn't fix). Also side note, I was told multiple times they don't photoshop but I guess photoeditting doesn't count as photoshop? because we had lovely clouds added to our photo. I don't even recall if the sunset was real or not. We did a 6 hour RT drive for the wedding photo preview and it was a waste of time -- it's just a slide show of your photos. You can easily click through it at home on your computer. The viewing room is heavily decorated with beautiful prints and they'll (Courtney) want to covince you that you absolutely need to buy a whole set of prints. Notice there's no pricing on the website (not that other studios who list pricing are transparent either). They hook you in with gorgeous photos and get you to pay whatever they think you'll pay. They will pressure you to book quick because this promo deal or other expires today! This is so bogus because they're a small studio--obviously they charge whatever they want to. You'll pre-pay for a wedding package but watch that fine print and listen carefully to what you're told! That expensive leather wedding book you paid for? You'll find out on the wedding photo preview day that it was leatherette (which I don't mind) and you'll be pressured to pay more for real leather. And after the preview, we were told we had so many beautiful photos -- we definitely need to add more pages to this photo album! and also upgrade the dimensions of the book, and oh! buy the video player embedded into the photo album (all for huge fees, of course). Major issue for me was I was promised full access to the raw "high resolution" images but on the photo preview day, I found out these are pretty low res photos (can only print 8x10 photos max). You have to shell out another $1.3k (this price is old, it probably costs more now) for the full resolution images! And, another point is the raw images from your photoshoot will not look like the images they advertise until after photoeditting, and you have to pay more for these editted photos. Something that bothered me a lot is they really cater to a certain type of wedding -- traditional ceremony with cocktail portion and lunch/dinner after--and don't take time to learn about your needs. The forms that I filled out (that were supposed to collect information to help the photographer get a sense of the timeline and know what to focus) asked specific questions and I had to put "N/A" for many questions. Our photographers did so well depsite the forms being half blank for us! Even after Courtney went through our entire wedding life show, she still talked about printing out photos of the ceremony. What ceremony?! There wasn't one! Again, this isn't about you, it's about selling art. I loved our wedding photos and I think we look glamorous like celebrities in them but my wedding was not the highlight of my life (and it shouldn't be the highlight of anyone's life) but in hindsight I could have gotten equally beautiful photos elsewhere. I'd say we paid about 30% more than if we had gone elsewhere and got less photoshoot hours, did not have parent photo album, got a smaller album with fewer pages, did not get any included prints, and did not have any video included. Additional, Courtney wasn't that quick to respond to emails. I remember we paid for our photos and it was crickets for a while and we emailed to ask if we could get the link to access our photos. You have to be on top of things (except payments, she won't let you forget!). I don't like to be exploited. If you want a studio that customizes its services to your needs, is transparent, and honest, go elsewhere. You have been warned. read more

My husband and I booked Michael Anthony Photography for our engagement photos and wedding. We REALLY enjoyed working with our photographer and the company. We selected them because they have a very cinematographic style and look to their photography. There were photographs I saw on their website I was hoping to emulate but wasn't sure if we would be able to because some of the photos I like look like they come from very expensive weddings, but I was very happy when I saw that that didn't matter. They were able to capture the magic of the photos I liked at the venue I was at. They do excellent posing and are extremely quick with their use of lighting. You can tell they know what they are doing and can get it done fast. We only had one photographer for our wedding day and he was fun to work with and extremely fast and efficient. Our photographer was very personable and a joy to work with! I also ended up asking lots of questions in regards to our wedding day timeline and they were very accommodating and helpful in terms of helping me figure out the best timeline for the day. They wanted to ensure I was getting the most for my money. They are also constantly running offers and promos which is nice. read more

Most dishonest photographer I have ever worked with. (I have a background as a wedding and event planner so that is not a small pool of professionals) While I have not experienced this businesses wedding photography I have had the misfortune of an in studio experience. First off they run a misleading "promotion" on social media looking for people to apply to be selected for a project. If "selected" supposedly the session fee is waived. When selected you are directed to the website to book your appointment (and pay a $99 booking fee) This is where you can see that the "promotion" is offered to anyone who visits the website and without the many texts and waiting to see if you are selected. The business states it is in Los Angeles but is in Valencia which should be stated as the location. If you live in LA you are used to businesses being a bit more clear. After driving over an hour to get to my appointment which was rescheduled the evening before because they stated they overbooked I was surprised that there was no "Michael". Had a quick 20 minute studio session where my previous preferences were ignored bt I went with it feeling professionals would know what they were doing. After the session I was booked for a zoom reveal and handed a price sheet. This is where I was extremely disapointed. Why not offer a price sheet before a client wastes time and gas. so they know the least expensive item is a single print for $600! I explained I was looking for a great photo of my elderly dog for a tattoo and needed a digital print. Never was it mnentioned that the least expensive digital option was 10 prints for...$1600!!! Yes you read that correctly. So they fish for clients on social media stating they want to build the business by offering this session to select people. It is available for all and just a way to try to use the reveal to spend more money than you should ever have to from a solicitation like this. While these prices may be reasonable for a wedding, baiting people like this should be criminal. Let's also the mention the ungodly amount of texts they send at all hours. of the day and night. 10 PM and 5 AM. They come in duplicates and you will get texts and emails. Within minutes of walking out of the studio I recieved TWO text confirmations for the reveal appoinment, an email to apply for credit for the overpriced packages AND two more texts confirming my studio booking... Yes, the one I had just left. I ignored the first two and responded after another very early morning text. The response...I'm sorry your automated texts didn't get updated after your shoot. Are you kidding me? You want $600 for one tiny print and can't work your automated text system? There are a TON of professional photographers in Los Angeles that are honest and not out to take advantage of clients. I suggest you use anyone but Michael Anthony Photography. Let's all allow him to stay home and focus on weddings since he clearly has nothing to do with the studio shoots he promotes with his name. read more

It's interesting that you knew I had a senior dog yet this isn't a "special project" for senior dogs. Clearly you pay for algorithm based marketing to bait people in...when I search for who the elusive "Audra" is, I see what her role is and I nailed it on the head, to bring in new business. Of course businesses have to charge, but engaging in false marketing practices is entirely different. Don't advertise you have a "special project for senior dogs and their owners" that is "free", when it's not special at all. You are asked to click to link to see if "you qualify", making it seem like a special project you are working on indeed. When I look at Audra's LinkedIn, I see this...I think more honesty and transparency is needed.
