I was impressed with his demeanor, his space, the portraits that he created that were hanging on the wall. And as the afternoon progressed, it just kept getting better. He took time to get to know both me and my daughter. He talked to her, laughed with her, found out what she was passionate about. And that care and interest translated into the shoot. We started out with a formal portrait. Beautiful background, antique chair, long formal gown on my gym rat girl. The pictures that resulted from that are STUNNING. She looks like she belongs on the wall of an art museum or a castle, while still looking exactly like her. Her personality shines out of all of the images. Charles has an amazing talent not only with the physical and visual aspects of the photos, but with capturing the essence of the person. After the formal gown pictures, my daughter changed into workout wear, and the real fun began. Charles engaged her, her personality, and they had *fun*. The entire time during the shoot, he was giving clear instructions on poses and ideas, he was asking my daughter questions and keeping her engaged. This was not a 'sit here, look there, click' experience, and it really shows in the final pictures. Charles has such an eye for movement and light, that a picture that seemed like it should just be a pretty image came alive. Speaking of the final pictures....we were invited back to the studio to view the images, and *wow*. Wow to the pictures, wow to the presentation, WOW to the whole experience. We went into the viewing room, where we had snacks and beverages while we watched a slideshow of these amazing pictures set to gorgeous music. I'm not ashamed to admit that I was overwhelmed to the point of tears more than once. The pictures of my daughter were so perfectly HER, as well as being truly art from a visual standpoint. Then came the real fun - trying to choose. One at a time, and in groups, Charles brought up the different poses and shots, and the three of us discussed, went back, discussed some more, and attempted to narrow down the choices. His eye for balance, movement, and aesthetic beauty merge with his detail oriented engineering side, and are overseen by an artistic talent that cannot be beat. I ended up with not only the best pictures I've ever seen of my daughter, but an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed and was impressed with. I cannot recommend Charles strongly enough if you are looking for a photographer to capture you, your pet, your child, your family PERFECTLY. Having had other portfolio pictures done of her recently, I speak from experience when I say that Charles is immensely talented, fun and professional to work with, and the final product will blow you away. He has a way of capturing the essence of the person that is beyond compare. I don't understand why another customer gave Charles such a poor review based solely on sales techniques. I myself did not experience anything like what he described. The photos that result from Charles taking his time, experience, and talent to capture the essence of his subject are not snapshots, they are art. Art is not inexpensive, but it is worth every penny. I have pictures of my daughter that not only will further her career, but that I can be proud to hang in my home. I won't look back on them in 10 years and wonder what we were thinking. I can't wait for another opportunity to work with Charles.

Charles creates coffee table books to raise funds for charity. For a good sum of money (which all goes to the the charity), you get to be in one page of this coffee table book as well as a copy of the coffee table book itself. We figured: why not: all of the money goes to the cause. Even wrote a check directly to the charity. He has a very nice studio: with one studio and one viewing room. The photo session with the dog was amazing. He does do a really good job with dog and captures a great photo. He makes sure that the dog is nice and relaxed before he starts and quickly captures the photos before the dog loses focus. A couple weeks later, we got to see our photos. Of course they are adorable and you're going to want to buy all of them. That's part of the business, right? The reality: After you see your stunning photos, he talks to you about what your print options are. He shows us a beautiful book with an assortment of all the pictures that you can pick out from your shoot. I basically cut to the chase and asked him the cost of the 10" x 10" book. The cost was 4 digits long (with a decimal at the END of the 4 digits) and the number starts with a 2. Holy moly. This book does not have diamonds on it people, it's a nicely printed book that with an inflated cost. A cost that could buy a nice Macbook or even a used car. We were done and tried to be nice and said that's totally out of our budget. He kept going with other products: prices obviously inflated as well. A simple 8"x10" print will run you in the hundreds. So what started out as a project for charity became a total hard sale experience. Perhaps we are not the clientele that he's looking for, but it would be nice to lay off the high pressure sales and be straight up. Edit: Charles contacted me months later regarding my review and asked what could be done. Everyone needs to do what they need to do to stay in business. If you like Charles' work, please do go to him but I believe that honesty is the best policy. If it takes writing a review like this to get feedback, I'm not sure how honest this business is. I saw the postal box photo booth at my friends wedding and immediately knew I needed that at my wedding! Not only was it a photo booth, it had a slot in it that guest can safely put their cards in that only can be unlocked with a code. The entire experience from start to finish was extremely enjoyable as Tony was very responsive - even late at night. There are a lot of templates for the photo booth and print outs - you can even customize it if you are able to design it yourself.
