I, and by proxy my mother, have had absolutely horrible experiences with him, specifically…read moreregarding medical gaslighting. As a child at four, I had severe night terrors. My mother worked for a sleep doctor, so she was convinced I had sleep apnea. Dr. Bell brushed her off and said I was fine because I rarely got sick. My mom played the 'crazy mom' card and he relented. The day after my sleep study, Dr. Bell personally called our house. I stopped breathing four times a minute in my sleep. I got my tonsils and adenoids removed. We assumed it was a fluke. Doctors make mistakes. It was NOT. I saw Dr. Bell yearly because my ear canals are small and clog easily. All Dr. Bell did while cleaning them was talk to my dad about golf. The few times I ever went alone, he dismissed every concern. I ended up discovering via another doctor that I have severe barotrauma in my ears. Large atmospheric pressure changes like takeoffs and landings on planes cause immense ear, head, and jaw pain and weeks-long vertigo. Specifically, the otoconia in my ears get out of place. Dr Bell claimed it was migraines, ignored my jaw pain entirely, and sent me on my way in less than 10mins. I literally said, "What about my jaw pain" and he said "I don't know but it's probably unrelated". I have never felt so ignored in my life by a doctor, let alone one I had seen yearly since childhood. If you HAVE to see this doctor, bring an adult man with you, because he'll take you more seriously (but you have to ignore the golf).
