I can't believe I've walked by this shop a million times without going in. Chatted with the store owner who filled us in his travels to Turkey to bring the most interesting Tribal Rugs to the heart of Woodstock. He even went into detail about the weave and the type wool it takes to create a tasteful rug. Ok...Good information. You'll notice Anatolia by all the decorative pillows and small area rugs outside his shop. Inside is small, but loaded- he's been in business for a long time, so we didn't second-guess his expertise. We were also looking for a non-slip pad to go with our rug to place it underneath- but was out of those. He was kind enough to provide us with a binder full of non-slip samples to choose from and if we liked, we can jot down the (800) number to order ourselves. My small Persian rug and the decorative pillow we purchased, are excellent quality and didn't hurt our pockets. I wanted to shop til I dropped and replace some of our imitation Persian rugs with the real deal- but that's not gonna happen just yet.

As others have said, Scott is amazing. Very helpful, knowledgeable, relaxed, patient, and has been amazingly easy to deal with pre and post-sale. We aren't carpet specialists by any means but, being a bit OCD, needing a carpet and living a couple blocks from ABC, have done a decent amount of research online and on each floor of ABC to understand how rugs are made, what goes into the cost, and what was important to us. Ultimately ABC was just too expensive. At Anatolia, we were surprised to spot a rug that was beautiful, hand-knotted, and had the little details (subtle color variations from vegetable dyes made in small batches) that we loved at a much much more affordable price. Scott even made it easy to try it at home to make sure it worked for us. They also had some great antique rugs, but we had already decided that a new one was a better fit for our situation. Overall, a really a surprising and terrific experience. We'll certainly be back and will be recommending them to everyone.

Somehow, when hubs and I moved from Westchester to the Catskills in '24, the top corner broke during transport. I couldn't part with this cherished heirloom piece- so I tried to DIY it. Tbh, I'm really not a DIYer- I rather pay someone to do it than me buying a gazillion products to repair something myself. Tucked away in the scenic town of High Falls, NY, Rosado Works is a rare find in a region full of furniture repair shops- but many that don't work on small pieces. While those repair shops overlook smaller pieces like mine, Rosado Works specializes in giving these items (and larger ones too) the attention they deserve. Luis isn't just a woodworker, but a true artisan. He treated that one specific jewelry case with the respect it deserved, carefully repairing the worn look of it, refreshing the finish and bringing it back to life. Honestly, my jewelry case now stands sturdier- hell, even prettier than I ever imagined. I also brought a green painted chair with metal studs on the seat that needed one of its sticks on the back to be permanently placed. And while I tried using wood glue to hold the stick in place, that stick would hold for about a minute and fall all over again. So I needed Luis' help. Again, he went beyond the 'wood glue' because in reality, my chair needed more surgery than that. Just a heads-up: there might be a bit of a wait, as your pieces won't be the only ones on his bench. But he always gets to them- and staying in touch via text keeps things smooth. Totally worth the patience for the quality of work he delivers. Ca$h, Zelle & Venmo payments accepted. I encourage all folks to see the value of old furniture. Yes it can be expensive to refinish, but consider the craftsmanship & detail that went into pieces that can be decades or even over 100 years old. If you respect and value American made and the history of people before us who were the artisans of their time the pieces are so worth the investment.

I bought a teak dresser from Steve last month, and I've been very pleased with it. He refinished it and delivered on time, within just a few days of purchase. It looks fantastic and operates well (the drawers open smoothly, etc) and is overall a really sturdy and beautiful piece. Also, you can't beat free delivery in NYC.
