Came away with two sets of earring, a beautiful satchel handbag and a fabulous mens shirt. If we had the time, we would have certainly purchased more! The woman behind the counter was lovely as well! It's set up very nicely with lots of great items everywhere in all sorts of nooks and crannies displayed on interesting wonderful items. It's also pretty big so you can take your time to walk around and see everything. It's a fun boutique all in all. My friend and I walked in and the girl behind the counter was on her phone the whole time looking down and did not look up once. Ok, that's fine we don't always need a greeting when walking into a shop. However, there are lots of delicate items and I would think you would want to check in to see if the customer has any questions or want to see any of the items that are placed inside the display cases that have to be opened. There was silence until my friend asked if one of the items were vermeil gold or gold plated. She had no idea and was a bit taken aback by the question but then got up and went behind to look at some sort of book. So we figured she must be looking it up. We walk around some more and about a good 20 mins later we come back and ask her did you find out and her response was, "what?" This time I asked the same question and she responds that she doesn't know and she was just looking up prices. We never asked about prices. It was just so weird and obviously apparent she did not care and was not the owner. All I kept thinking was only if the owner knew how she was handling their store. We did end up purchasing items because like I said earlier they have some wonderful items but the customer service, rather lack thereof was just ridiculous.

Plus, I always love mixing old and new items in my home decor because it just feels more personal and layered for me. That's where Isabella's Treasures in New Paltz came in around late Fall '24. I wanted my tree dressed in time for Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, I'm that person who puts up the tree at least the day before and lights it during dessert time to kick off the holiday season. To my surprise, Isabella's had exactly what I was looking for: vintage ornaments in the perfect colors- each one unique, full of soul, and priced reasonably in the $4 to $8 range. Totally worth it for pieces I won't find anywhere else. The shop itself is a cozy treasure trove, filled with everything from jewelry, textiles, to jewelry boxes- both new and vintage. There's also an attached room with vintage board games and clothing (though I'm not sure if that's part of Isabella's Treasures or a neighboring vendor). Isabella herself is a doll- super helpful, warm, and even gave me some background stories on the ornaments I purchased. It made the whole experience feel extra special, like I was taking home tiny heirlooms with their own little history.

Not only did Sal hand pick the items he wanted to keep from my collection, but he put a cigarette butt out inside of my Pokémon emerald case that I put on gloves to retrieve and in a plastic bag for DNA testing if required. This guy doesn't just wanna scam you of your stuff. He wants to destroy it and make sure you make no money off of it. As far as he understood it that was a game that was valued at over $200. I am missing trading cards a certificate of authentication for an autograph pop figure as well as some other notable theft. I can happily prove that that cigarette butt was indeed sals, and while I do Smoke I have no ambition to ruin that kind of property of my own. The bottom line is that these people are crooks and they really do want to scam you this is not a fair operation these are not morally corrected people, it is in operation to launder items from people and disservice them with what they are owed and what is returned upon its original condition despite any please you have to have your stuff returned. The illness of the people working there who aren't really working needs to be assessed and organized accordingly. I do not seek reparations in response to the destruction of my property the theft of my property or the refusal to return property despite claiming that they will. Only the everlasting care for my neighbors and raising AWARENESS for what will happen to you if you don't treat this man like he is a God and knows everything and like you are a naïve and inattentive "customer" ... hundreds of dollars lost and stolen. I have very little check for the many highly valuables that were able to sell not because of the eBay store but because they were valuable items the other ones that took an extra day or two to get there I tried to retrieve and they were destroyed. I was belittled and threatened and in the end accomplish nothing and my products were no longer functional because destructive and malicious as well as harmful actions were taken not only to me and my mother but to my belongings with a very clear intent to harm. I suggest that the seller remove their archived pictures from their previous sales on eBay because I promise you that cigarette but will not be in them. And DNA testing is a very real thing and I will go that far but I will get my money back first. Good luck dealing with this rundown Shoddy store because half the reviews are right their place is full of junk and they don't get items as good as what I was suggesting we have inquiries about. I shouldn't have to be sorry for recalling items when it is my right to do so and still have my property destructed by the owner of the business itself and have items taken from me so that what were once valuable items aren't worth a whole lot. I thought I was done with this experience but the more I flip through my stuff I notice more and more extremely aggressive actions taking against my property. If you wanna make money off of it brother don't destroy it and if you want better reviews like you were begging me before I said no and you put cigarettes out in my video game cartridges. It goes beyond not OK and into the realm of vandalism and other violations of the law such as destruction of property. And valuable property at that. Hundreds of dollars lost and a small check to compensate for about a third of that. You win buddy. Round of applause for Ohioville consignment.

They carry mostly women's clothing from the 60's-80's, and have a lovely range of stonewashed denim jackets that would make Madonna proud to cute and quirky minidresses that would look at home on the Mary Tyler Moore Show (okay, I sound old!) Admittedly, Rock Candy Vintage isn't the Goodwill or Savers, and you'll be paying quite a bit for the garments sold here. However, the quality is very good, especially for the items from the 60's and 70's, considering how old the pieces are. Feel free to splurge - it's super worth it, especially when you think about what other vintage stores that sell clothing from the same eras are like, quality wise. If you're ballin' on a budget, check out the affordable selection of unique enamel pins, iron on patches, and feminist-friendly tote bags, all which come in at less that $20, but are equally as fabulous as their pricier cousins across the racks. I can't wait to come back for a dress when I have more money! I guess I'll have to settle for coveting the enamel pin with the TV Dinner on it (I told you, I'm old!) for now!
