I contacted two other repair shops, but they didn't handle Macs or water damage. Thankfully, I found San Francisco Bay Computer Services. They quoted me $467 for the repair, which included a screen with the Apple logo. I paid a 50% deposit, and they ordered the part, which arrived in just one day. I dropped off the laptop in the morning and picked it up the same day--fully repaired and working perfectly! They also provided a 30-day warranty on labor and assured me the parts have a manufacturer warranty. To top it off, I received a 20% discount on labor for my next visit (not that I hope to need it anytime soon!). Ed was responsive on the phone and texted me when laptop was ready for pickup. This one in Daly City actually have a new schedule every month to show all their workshops like writing your resume, introduction to computer, email, excel, word and powerpoint, how to ace a phone interview, etc. They also have special programs/workshop for youth (14-21) and job seekers that are Age 55+. You can also use their computer to go online(job searching only). While these are not to my advantage at all... I think they are very good resources for some people in need of help. well I have not been to the workshops and I can't comment on how good they are, but I did make use of their drop-in career counseling 1:30pm to 3:30pm tue to thurs, first come first serve - call to make sure the schedule stays the same). It's a one on one feedback on your resume and interviewing skills + receive job search tips. Mainly I would like someone to look through my resume.
