I appreciate Dr. Kwiatkowski's good intentions and her high priority on safety. I always liked her…read morewhen I met with her. I was distressed, however, that she did not correct a diagnostic error despite my spending 2.5 years and around 9 appointments attempting to explain why the diagnosis does not fit my long-term history. I also spent time patiently empathizing with her view and letting her know that I understood why she might have the inaccurate perspective from past inaccurate notes. I had discussed with her the hacking on my devices and hacking of MyHealth Online; she didn't seem to understand and didn't fully believe my true clarification and used it to justify her incorrect diagnosis. (People need to understand how pervasive the middle-of-the-man hacking of entire Verizon / T-Mobile/ home and other WIFI/other networks and iCloud and Google is; the prevalence of impersonation of real people through message, phone, other methodology is very disturbing and frankly dangerous.) Ultimately, Dr. K encouraged me to talk to the manager of the department and to seek a second opinion. Instead of listening to me and trusting me as her patient (and I am a very nice, respectful patient of 30 years at Sutter; I've had positive experiences with a number of physicians including my primary care doctor of 30 years), she kept hinting to me that it was fine with her if I found someone else. Finally, following my feeling totally safe to follow through on her suggestions of meeting the manager of the department and pursuing a second opinion, a Stanford physician disagreed with her, and she sent an abrupt letter telling me she would cut off care and prescription renewals in 45 days -- without offering a viable plan for long-term continuity of care at Sutter (!!) It's hard to describe how hurt, anxious, and demoralized I was then; I had emotionally invested in her and had trusted her to work with me and had never experienced this reaction from any other physician or psychiatrist); a letter like that at the wrong moment could significantly harm the patient and send their prognosis on a downhill trajectory. Granted, I do think she was probably swayed by the network of misinformation circling through the department due to the hacking of physicians' phones and devices; I don't hold her to blame for the letter but rather the Sutter technology system that enabled her to fire off the inappropriate letter irresponsibly and unethically; a patient might feel abandoned and retaliated against, unintended but here we are. Sutter is responsible for rectifying the process so this does not abruptly happen to anyone else. Such a letter should be given in person (esp to a reasonable patient like me) and should be signed by a local, accountable full-name real-life person approachable for clarification. ( I realized after a little research that the letter also appeared to be invalid and was signed by a supposed Sutter employee named Ms. Y for (from what I could find online, a possibly fake account using the first name on the letter: "Ms. Younger" -- I'm sure the department was unaware that this "Sutter employee" was likely an impersonator and fake, but I've seen a lot of impersonation going on with Sutter MyHealth phone calls and online; it doesn't surprise me). I have alerted Leadership of my concern about the seemingly invalid letter but have not yet received a promise of continuity of care, a situation firmly going against Sutter policy. I haven't been given an appointment with Dr. Kwiatkowski since receipt of the letter; the one I had arranged with her at our last session together was canceled, not by me. Nevertheless, when I politely requested a session (through MyHealth Online message) to discuss misunderstandings, Dr. K sent me a message response telling me that she genuinely believed we were at an impasse and that given our disagreement about my health diagnosis (despite no science or facts to back up her diagnosis) and my concerns about documentation (she had told me she would make the notes private, but the bogus diagnosis kept showing up in after-session notes that I could view), she felt I should get fresh eyes to review my diagnosis. I naturally attempted to find a replacement psychiatrist (which I had also done prior to the letter she sent), but I was told that the department is currently full and cannot take on new patients (even though the super nice manager of the department did offer to help me find a new psychiatrist -- thank you!!). Update: calls to the main number / switchboard of the department are received by various people who then post any conversations word for word in your record w errors -- labeling notes as visits to your physician (!). Shockingly, a note from reception / impersonator claimed that I had been seeing Dr. K for the bogus diagnosis. Update: Department manager says there is no waiting list (?) and no one available. This makes zero sense to existing patient for over decade.

I came to him struggling with both depression and ADHD, and his guidance, treatment approach, and practical advice have made a significant difference in my life. What I appreciate most is how thoughtful and collaborative he is. He always provides clear explanations and helpful strategies to tackle whatever you are going through. His advice is practical, compassionate, and tailored to what actually works for you. I'm very grateful to have found him and would highly recommend Dr. Towery to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and effective psychiatrist!!

A Truly Exceptional Doctor Who Changed Our Family's Life!!!!!…read more We were referred to Dr. Towery by my teenage daughter's pediatrician. Although his services were expensive, we were desperate to help our daughter and willing to do whatever it took to find someone who could truly make a difference. So we decided to give Dr. Towery a try. Before seeing him, multiple psychiatrists had diagnosed our daughter with depression. But to our surprise -- and relief -- Dr. Towery determined that she did not suffer from depression, but rather was exhibiting rebellious behaviors typical of adolescence. In today's world, it's all too easy for professionals to prescribe medication and continue treatments indefinitely. It was a blessing to find someone who took a different approach and wasn't quick to medicate. Instead, Dr. Towery recommended insightful books and a practical rewards system tailored to our daughter's needs. We followed his advice, including delivering the "wake-up call" he urged us to give -- and it worked. We saw a 180-degree transformation in our daughter. Later, when our younger son was diagnosed with OCD elsewhere, we brought him to Dr. Towery as well. The bond they formed was incredibly strong. When the day came that Dr. Towery said goodbye because our son's OCD was cured, my son was genuinely sad -- he misses Dr. Towery dearly to this day. Dr. Towery is a rare gem in the field. His honesty, insight, and commitment to truly helping children and families is unmatched. We are forever grateful, and I give him my highest recommendation
