My wife and I came to our first Rocky Horror Picture Show with them back when they were on Lighthouse and have been coming back every year since. Their productions are always good quality and light hearted. We have been to a variety of the food related events as well and everything was delicious and entertaining. I usually try to break down reviews into service, food/drink and abiance but I don't think that is very applicable for a theater, so I'll address those at the end. In general you'll come to Paper Wing to be entertained and if you're an introvert like me you may be pushed out of your comfort zone a bit, but it's always in good fun. This is a fantastic community third space and a great little spot that makes the otherwise straight laced Monterey Peninsula interesting. If you go for a play the food/drink is served at a bar in the back, it's nothing that will blow your mind but you're not there for the food/drink. Service always friendly and as efficient as bar service can be. The physical ambiance of the theater is pretty basic; However, there is an amazing painted mural of New Monterey back in the day up near the roof.

On DoorDash, they offer Paper Wing's Vegan Sushi and it is so good! I end up gorging myself every time! I highly recommend the veggie tempura. With their creative take on traditional sushi rolls, this is one spot I hope stays around for a while. This is one vegan version of a sushi roll that's fun and fabulous! (Look out Queens!) Along with their vegan sushi, you should check out Paper Wing Theater's show schedule. They host Drag Bingo and other fun drag events. This place is definitely a good time! I highly recommend the Paper Wing for their food and fun.

On this day filled with live performances featuring a variety of music genres, Wrockinfoose ended the night with great rock tunes to keep the crowd engaged and in good spirits. Some kept it moving on the dance floor, with others relaxing in their seats simply enjoying the sounds of the band on stage while spending time with loved ones. The balcony level was not open on this special occasion. But the first floor's comfy theater folding seats, with velvety cushions, were of decent quality. And the ornate details and artwork on the auditorium walls and ceiling made the place look like a castle from the inside. It was a lovely setting for an exciting countdown to the new year, and altogether we had a delightful experience.

The bouncer to the left told them to be quiet but they didn't listen. They had been distracting for most of the show but I wish the workers took it more seriously. There were many of us that kept gesturing for them to keep quiet and nothing changed. If they didn't listen to the bouncer and it kept happening, they should have just kicked them out. This kind of dampened my experience since there is no management for the experience so if I'm going to go to a show and people can just do whatever, then I'd rather not go. I'll pass on this venue.

Good lighting and clear acoustics here, and performances are enjoyable from all 718 seats in the main room. For the show we attended, sponsored by Folk-Yeah, our seating was assigned & we picked physical tickets up at will-call --no electronic tickets. It felt relatively small and well organized for a concert venue. Wine is sold in non-spillable sippy cups, a smart, practical detail. For our show, the merchandise line spilled out the front door and moved slowly. More than enough bathrooms at the venue. The ushers are helpful, though pocket lights and seat assistance during the performance can be distracting. Overall, an intimate place to see a live act in Carmel.

Entertainers, artists, musicians, comedians and others adore visiting Carmel by the Sea and the Monterey Peninsula. My dad spoiled us growing up; we had every gaming system from the regular Nintendo up. Our friends and cousins always wanted to come over to our house so we could play video games. They have original games and systems for sale in the entrance of this shop. The employees were fine. There weren't any issues with service. Their was a guy actively working on something in the backround the entire time we were at the shop and another quietly gaming in the corner. They let us be and in return we tried to be respectful and follow the rules of their arcade. For the four of us to play for an hour was $32. This was a steal given how much our kids spend at our local arcades. No tokens were needed or loaded cards. I kicked my daughter's butt at Mortal combat and Pac man. We as a whole had a great time. The shop was quieter and we weren't complaining. The only recommendation for them would be some kind of cooling inside. It was a fairly warm day and it got kind of stuffy playing games inside. We would totally come back next time we're in Monterey.

I will just say this was a very disappointing experience. When we arrived, no one was there. When the greeter did come, she hesitantly approached us and handed us a paper printed menu in a dark, empty restaurant, which immediately felt off to us. When our food was served, several items were served cold and lacked flavor. The catfish was barely seasoned and watery, while the chicken had this "special" barbecue sauce but no taste, the Mac and cheese was straight from a box, and was gummy like, and the greens tasted super watered down. The cornbread was extremely hard, and there were white particles floating in the water. Even basic items like the salt container were unusable, sticking to the container. The owner spoke with our group and hyped the restaurant up, but the food and overall experience did not match what was coming out of his mouth. I also noticed everyone else received cornbread with their meal while I did not. Assuming it came with the meal (since me and my brother ordered the exact same thing) I was later charged an extra $6 for it without being informed. Based on the food quality and overall experience, I won't be returning. If zero stars were an option, that's what I'd give.
