Dr. Kwan was good and my experience with the woman who drafted up my prescription was very nice. The front desk personnel needs work with their customer service. They seem sad to see customers and do not greet with a smile or at all as if they don't need customers to keep the business running. They do not say hello or acknowledge customers walking in. They put them on hold in person and only acknowledge them to hear what the customer is there for after they are done being busy with their computer work. When I went to pick up my glasses I was handed my glasses as if they hadn't done any work on them at all. No protective case, no business card, nothing. The only way I knew my glasses were different was because the lenses no longer had the ray ban logo on them. I didn't buy frames from them because I was happy with my Ray bans that were still in good condition but they did nothing to make me want to buy frames from them or even return for my next prescription. My Ray bans were unprotected, and exactly the same way I left them. They did not spruce them up by wiping them off or anything. I will find a new optometrist next time. read more

I've been a customer for almost ten years. Despite the high prices I loved supporting a hometown business. Money was not an issue. Today I came in with my son for our two year check up. My fault I was 13 minutes late. I've never been late. I was refused. Secretary was not able to deescalate but hostile. They were happy to give me my history and diagnosis for myself husband and children with no service recovery. When I asked if they cared to lose faithful customers I got a shrug of no one cares. I asked the office manager to contact the owner or doctor on call and was told they didn't care to talk to me. Interesting no matter what my side is they should be interested in their customers. Long ago as a child I came to this office. After losing insurance up until recently I let my glasses and prescription long expire. However once I got insurance again, I knew where to go. Always takes a long time, can never get a walk in appointment, you have to wait a week or two to be seen, took over 2 months to get a replacement frame under warranty , asked to be seen when my frames finally came in. Nobody in the lobby but two people and the girl said oh we're over booked , She had the I don't care attitude told her I was going somewhere else, she didn't care, so I will go somewhere else, also I agree with the other negative reviews way overpriced and even with the insurance they charge a lot .. This is the perfect place to shop if you want a small overpriced selection of frames to choose from. Don't bother asking for a different color or size options because they will try to convince you it's not available. The average wait time for a pair of glasses is typically 7 to 10 workings days. Here, you'll be lucky to get them in under 3 weeks. Dr Kwan is best thing the office has to going for it, since she's been there for the last several years. Aside from that there's very little if any real accountable leadership around there because the office manager the doesn't know the first thing about customer service or leadership in general. Over promising and under delivering is the way things wrong around there. But hey, if you absolutely must go there for anything ask for Albert or Wil they're you best bet at getting anything done correctly the first time. read more

Make sure that the office actually puts your appt. in their system or they will tell you that you don't have an appt when you show up at the time you were told over the phone. In addition , make sure that when you fill out the paperwork they actually record it. They didn't seem to think it was important to record my new paperwork and then they charged me more money because records can't be kept correctly. read more

Have been a patient for over 20 years and yes the doctors have changed but the quality service has not. I recently had to have an exam for the SMV and they fit me in immediately. I had an exam with dr. Morton who was very helpful and explained all to my satisfaction. Their updated equipment allowed me to see my eyes in a whole new way. Frame selection is fine and my glasses came with a 1 year warranty which allows me to get new lenses within the 1 year period. I use EyeMed insurance and they worked with me to stay within the constraints of my insurance. I recommend both Dr. Morton and Dr. Kwan as optometrists. read more

I've been putting off going to the eye doctor for as long as I could...Why? Because I'm lazy. I finally decided to go and was referred to by a friend to check the Alta Loma Optometric Center. What made me finally go? I had a stye, and it was escalating. It was time for my eye exam, and what made me go was a stye that was swelling to the size of a mini-orange. I went in a little embarassed but was delighted by the friendliness of everyone in the center. Coming from Clear View optometry prior to all of this, I was used to sub-par service mainly focused on trying to sell you a pair of glasses. I've bought eye glasses that ended up very uncomfortable in the long run, but the management and crew here helped me get the CORRECT ones for my face and my eyes. I had a very wide face and bought glasses from another optometry only to find that they were too narrow. No Bueno. But the crew here helped me find some extremely comfortable Evasik's which fit my face perfectly. In the end, I got a prescription to lower the intensity of my stye, and they were able to get through my eye exam. This place comes highly recommended and I think I've found a consistent eye-doctor for once in my life. read more

I used to go here when I was little and was back in town desperately needing to replace my glasses that I just lost and reorder some contacts. Alta Loma Optometric got me in same day and every single person working in the office was friendly and helpful. I found new contacts that are affordable and more comfortable, frames that I love and they even had the glass lenses so that I could leave with them today!! So happy to have stopped in. I have never had to wait so long for a pair of prescription glasses to be filled just to have to call AFTER they were supposed to have been ready just to be told they were there and ready for pick-up. It happened two years in a row so common practice for this location. Also, once there the wait seemed unreasonable considering we were the only customers there for a pick up. This use to be the best place in town. We've been coming to this establishment for many years however in the last several years the quality of customer service has plummeted. Professionalism and quality control seems to have vanished. Staff appear to be immature and inexperienced when dealing with clients who pay their salaries. Approximately six weeks ago I brought in a pair of eye glasses for repair that were still under warranty. The receiptionist stated no problem we'll call you in 7-10 when the new frames arrive. Great, soon after I was sent to N. Cal for business thinking that my new frames would be waiting for me once I returned back to Rancho. NOPE, when I went to pick them up the receptionist stated that they had not yet arrived and did not have an answer why they were delayed. I really made an effort to be courteous and patient with the young girl, however she seemed to be annoyed when I asked a couple of questions regarding my missing frames. Unfortunately after this experience and other observations of their staffs' conduct I'll be taking my business and insurance to someone els. I sincerely hope that the owner/owners can make the necessary adjustments to bring their place of business back the high level of standards that they were once known for. read more

Dr. Morton explained everything so I could understand, was patient with my questions, and was a nice guy. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable on the glasses, which helped me make an educated decision on the pair I wanted quickly. Wow. Although Dr. Kwan was friendly and knowledgeable, the rest of this experience was unpleasant. The staff were unprofessional (to be nice) and were more interested in cracking each other up than in being either helpful or attentive. There is clearly not a high priority placed on customer service as more than once during our visit, I could hear the obvious annoyance and loud sighs after the receptionist dealt with a phone call. The office itself was a bit run down and disheveled. The selection of frames was decent, but not huge. I will not be going back to this place and I feel bad because someone needs to tell the doctor to hire new staff. read more

11-17-16 I felt like I had to revisit my review. I called back to order my contacts as I had a new insurance plan. It does not seem like the staff is adequately trained as I waited over 10 minutes this time as well as the time prior waiting for the staff to look up the insurance information. I paid over $250 for prescription sunglasses and the plastic frame is rippled...not to mention it took over a month to actually get them. I've been coming here for a few years now & I've always had a good experience. The best part is that they open on Saturdays. I have gotten both contact & eye glasses fittings. The prices are the same as any other local Rancho eye Dr. I guess it all depends on your insurance. I always end up having a co-pay but that's only because I get the designer frames with the transition lenses. All of the docters I have met have been really nice & I never feel rushed when i go in. When I first tried contacts they gave me a few samples to try & take home. I thought that was cool b/c most offices dont do that. read more

Went back today to meet with manager. She refunded us our $45 and said that they would not be billing our insurance. The only reason she did this was because I filled a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. She gave us a check with a smile on her face, but she was obviously not happy. I found this doctor while I was getting lunch across the street and thought I would try them out. I was so surprised by the level of customer service I received not only from the doctor but the staff!! I brought my whole family in, husband and 3 kids and they did an amazing job helping all of us in a timely manner. I have a 7 year old son who hates the eye doctor! The doctor was very accommodating to my son's needs and made him feel really comfortable. The staff was VERY nice, especially Rosa and Alexa! They took their time to get to know what our needs are and what our budget was and gave us great options for our money. I would recommend this place to all my family and friends!! read more

I purchased a pair of expensive Ann Klein glasses from this place, need to replace the lenses, STEPHANIE that works here is a horrible RUDE employee, she was very rude on the phone, I asked her if she could mail my glasses to my home, since I am disabled, and can't do to much driving. She sent them, a week latter, she sent them with the right Lens falling out, the right arm of my glasses is stretched out, and the screws are loose. I called and STEPHANIE answered the phone, I told her how I got my grasses damaged, she hung up on me, when I asked to speak to the manager. Then placed the recorded message that they are closed. Then she told me to come pick up my glasses originally, when I got there they were closed! I will be hiring an attorney, I am in a fixed income, so it's not possible for me to replace the glasses that I purchased from THIS place!! I GIVE THIS PLACE NO STARS. I haven't been to the optometrist for over two years. When I arrived for my recent appointment and they notified me that they were under new ownership I was a little nervous, however, my experience couldn't have been better. The doctor and staff were very friendly and very helpful. Even while I briefly waited to be called back I was noticing all the staff members eagerly looking to assist guests that needed help, nobody was being ignored or left to wait. For my experience, Wilmer was the guy helping me and he was very helpful, courteous, understanding and informative. I am big on customer service and it was on point here. If I can give this location a zero I would. I had dual insurance gave them all info needed, it wasn't until I was sitting in the exam chair that I was told I would have to pay for my contact exam out of pocket. I checked prior to and at the front desk before being taken back. I felt pressured to stay.. like I had to at least my glasses exam done. When we looked at there selection they told me I would be paying over $170 out of pocket Never had I had to pay so much for something my insurance covers a good portion of. I told them I would be taking my prescription else where. When I took my prescription to another optometrist they told me it want signed and there fax was not legible. WTH I told you guys I was going elsewhere and it seemed you didnt sign it purposely. I had been here as a teen for NUMEROUS years under the old optometrist. So the first time I called just to find out if I was eligible for new GLASSES. The guy on the phone said I didn't have insurance. Well I obviously do. So after calling my insurance company and them telling me everything is fine I called back and spoke to someone else who said of course I have insurance, and I am eligible for GLASSES not CONTACTS. So I booked an appointment to get new GLASSES. My appointment was at 11:30, and I didn't get called in until 12:30. The new Doctor asked why I came in, for new GLASSES.... then he asked hoe my contacts were and I said okay so he recommended a new kind of contacts and gave me a pair to try out. Ok cool I guess. Finally time to pick out frames and the selection SUCKS, Half the frames in the displays are missing, Prices were SKY HIGH. (As was the tech helping me...) and so I went to leave and they hit me with a $55 fitting fee for contacts THAT I DIDNT EVEN WANT. Well I don't have $55 that NOBODY TOLD ME ABOUT, so they pulled it out of my insurance allowance for new glasses I didn't even get. Dr. Keller I hope your retirement is going well but the office is terrible and I will not be returning. read more
