I've been coming here for years, and I don't plan on ever going anywhere else. Dr. Nugent, Dr. West, and their team are AWESOME! They treat me like family, and they always have smiles on their faces. This is my second review of Dr. Nugent's business, and my first review of his wonderful dentistry. I chose Dr. Nugent because my mother recomeded him as the best dentist and I too think he is the best dentist I have ever had. Please though, check my one star review about his extensive use of email and texts to remind people about appointments. On my last visit, I asked his front office to see if could limit internet contact to one email and one text per visit. They agreed my request was reasonable, and said they would get back to me. Today I found out they cannot cut down the amount of texts and emails they send. I chose to get no notice, rather than have them blow up my phone. I wish I could get one email and one text per visit. read more

Dr. Nugent and his staff are incredible. I had my crown replaced today and the experience was first rate. The equipment used was phenomenal. No more nasty pink goop to take and impression. They used 3D photographic equipment from which they could build the impression digitally. The crown was then printed in the office while I waited and then put in place. Incredible! They are all such lovely people in this office. So kind, compassionate, friendly and extremely professional. I felt so safe and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dental practice. They are OUTSTANDING! I visited Dr Nugent's office for the first time and I was very pleased. Dr Nugent and his staff were so welcoming and made me feel comfortable right away. Dr Nugent was very nice. He patiently listened to my questions and concerns and discussed practical solutions. Kathy, the hygienist, was wonderful. She explained each stage of the process, in advance, so that I knew what and why she was doing it. I really appreciated that. Lisa, Eric and Saul were very friendly and helpful as each if them performed their part of the process for my visit. I needed some advice regarding when I can get back to BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) after a dental extraction and bone graft and Dr. Nugent replied to me in an instant and I really appreciate that. It just shows me how dedicated he is to his profession with the time he took out of his busy day to answer me. Last year, Dr Nugent helped me with saving a tooth that a corporate dentist was gonna have removed. Nugent installed a crown. The crown won't last forever but the tooth was fine on the inside. That's a nice delay on a huge cost. The corporate dentist had the hygienist all signed up for $600 worth of teeth cleaning and this is with dental insurance. Dr. Nugent's staff are friendly and reasonable on costs. The Pasadena Dentist is worth the trip and his partner is great to work with as well. read more

My long term dentist retired and I started seeing a chain dentist. Every time I went they seemed to find more things to do. When they recommended three crowns and multiple fillings that were going to take three session of work I decided to get a second opinion. Dr Nugent was highly recommend so I decided to see what he said and he recommended two small fillings. I am extremely happy with him. After my procedure, they billed my insurance for $1100.00. My insurance paid. After the received payment from my insurance, they billed ME for the same thing claiming the cost was $1250.00. They insisted I owed them $150.00 for the difference. When I questioned this I was basically told that they don't try to bilk money out of people. I told them I just wanted an explanation of these charges. She told me they already explained it once and I have to pay it. I told them I wasn't comfortable with the explanation and wanted to discuss it with someone else or I was just going to go somewhere else from now on...she told me I can go find someone else to take care of my dental needs if thats how I feel about it. In a nut shell, they decided to turn me over to collections and report to the credit bureaus that I didnt pay. My insurance company even wondered why they billed me for more than they paid what was billed. Office manager is untrustworthy and you had better not ask her about your bill because if she thinks she explained it good enough then your credit rating will be held for ransom. read more

Here is my experience with this place. Please read and be AWARE. I am very upset with this facility. I called and set up an appointment. I did ask beforehand if they took my insurance and said yes. I showed up to my appointment for an exam and xrays. I asked how much with my insurance and they said $50 and very nicely and friendly told me they estimated the insurance would cover the rest and i agreed to go forward with the exam. After the exam, they said they made a mistake and charged me $23 more. I now get a bill at home for $149.xx and find out they were out of network. They never once mentioned that they were out of Network. Yes, i take some fault for not asking either, but they should have mentioned that when we were talking about the financial coverage of my insurance. I feel scammed for the fact that they know if they are out of network most insurances will for fully cover these services. Insurances have contracts for set prices with their in-network facilities and if your not part of that network then you know it's not going to cover much. So the "estimated cover the rest" is false off the bat! So now i am paying $223 to have just gotten my teeth looked at!!! No cleaning or anything! Never again. I hope my review helps the next person looking at dentists in the area. I added a star because they were very friendly and so was the doctor, but still not worth the $$ if you have insurance. read more

Where do I even begin? I came to Dr. Nugent's practice years ago before Dr. Campbell retired through a referral of a co-worker. I had a HORRIBLE experience with my dentist at the time and was over it. When I came in, I asked for Dental Hygienist Danette Stroder and from that moment forward, my life has changed. Seriously. Through the years, Mr. Campbell retired and along came Dr. Nugent. Magnificent D.D.S! He has done amazing things with the practice and can tell you EACH member of his staff are instrumental in his success. He has a wonderful personality, family oriented, and understands patients needs. Dr. Nugent is excellent in his craft and always up on technology I simply cannot stress how it feels when you walk through the door and greeted by people who actually care. I've been a patient of Dr. Nugent's for about five years or so. I was weary of finding a good dentist that truly cares for their patients but I found that with Dr. Nugent. He seems genuinely happy every time I have gave gone in. His staff is always very friendly and helpful. I have never had a bad experience with them. My husband is now a patient of his as well and he too was happy with their service. My favorite part is getting my bag of goodies every time I get a cleaning!!
