I arrived there at 11:05am and checked in. I sat in the waiting room patiently waiting to be seen. At 12:40ish the nurse called my name to be taken in the back to be seen and get vitals taken. She noticed that I was somewhat irritated as to having to wait so long. She said she was sorry but that was just the way the Dr was, meaning Dr. Toby Kirkwood. I told her it was unacceptable and I'm not going to tolerate it. She apologized and said that she would check back in with me in a little while. 5-10 minutes later, she came back and said the Dr would be another 5-10 minutes before he would see me. I told her no ma'am I'm not going to wait another minute and I walked out without seeing anyone today. I told her this is the last time I will be back to this clinic. I had another appointment next month but on my way out, I stopped by the desk and canceled it as well. I did receive my co-pay back that I had paid for today. Then, my labs showed one slightly elevated liver enzyme, which Dr Avalos incorrectly diagnosed as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. I fed my numbers into an AI bot and the bot had the intelligence to ask if I'd had a hard workout recently. In fact I did, and I'm guessing the AI bot was more correct. More galling, I asked Dr Avalos what to do about the NAFLD. She basically said "IDK LOL," and if that wasn't bad enough the app let me know the response was generated by AI. She couldn't care less... Next, I asked to go on zepbound. Dr Avalos prescribed it for me (BMI above 30), but told me it would only be for a month while my BMI was above 30. I showed her the data from Eli Lilly showing that this is supposed to be a long term / maintenance drug, and if I go off in a month obviously I'm going to regain the weight. I showed her clinical data that confirms I should stay on through lower BMIs. I showed her insurance data that said I should stay qualified as long as I qualified at the beginning of treatment. Again her response was basically "IDK LOL!" Cannot recommend avoiding this place at all costs if this is the type of person they have giving medical advice.

For all you first timers, this office is located inside the big building that has the big sign Texas Bank. I thought I was in the wrong place and called in to verify if GPS took me to the right one. GPS was right and they're on the 2nd floor, right past the pediatric office. I got a call the day before from their office personnel explaining my benefits (how much insurance is paying and how much is my out-of-pocket). I was scheduled for a later time in the afternoon, but since they have an opening at 11 am, the nice lady asked if I would like to take the 11 am spot. Of course, i gladly took it. It didn't take long after I filled out the forms to being ushered inside. The dental assistant, Jodi took very good care of me. She has a cheerful personality that made me feel at ease. I hate dental visits but somehow she made feel like there's nothing to worry about. Dr. Mike did my root canal and he was very thorough and careful. It's an overall great experience for me. I'm glad I was referred here by my dentist!
