I had no idea this dentist's office was so close by! Their Pasadena location is in the Kroger shopping center at the corner of Red Bluff and Spencer. I used to always shop at this Kroger location so how did I miss it? This was my first time at MINT. Their office is really nice. I love the modern decor. The young ladies at the front desk were very friendly. One of them handed me an iPad so I could easily fill out the required paperwork for new patients. When they called me back, the first thing they did was take x-rays. It was quick and easy. Next, we went to a room for more x-rays. And then the dental assistant did a mold of my teeth for the free whitening tray new patients receive. Nice bonus! Then the dental hygienist came in to do my cleaning. It was rough. I'm not going to lie. She warned me it would be uncomfortable and she was right. But it wasn't her fault at all. It was my fault for letting the tartar build up so much. Next time I'll be back in six months so it won't be so bad. I'm sure most people don't look forward to going to the dentist. I know I was kind of dreading it since it's been a long time. But everyone was friendly and they put me at ease. I like how they let you listen to Pandora or watch Netflix. But it was hard to watch my movie while they were in my mouth! The team here is pretty attentive. I went in a few times for different work and each time it was a smooth process. There was only one instance where I waited in a chair for almost 2 hours because the doctor was with another patient and I guess they only have two doctors. They provide a comfortable environment and have TV or music you can hear while you have work done. They also always give you goodie bag to go so you can start or continue good hygiene care. read more

First visit and had mixed reviews. Timeliness : My visit was at 11 am and I waited a little bit over an hour to be seen. Due to COVID, I had to wait outside in my car while it was raining and complete the check in. Unfortunately, no instructions were given on how to use the laptop. I figured it out but and an elderly or computer illiterate person would have difficulty navigating the screens. I was not called back in to wait once the lobby emptied. I gave it two stars because the front desk receptionist was nice. Cleanliness: After returning my laptop I was able to wait in the lobby. The decor was modern and up to date. The receptionist informed me that the owners wife decorated all the Mint dentistry's office's. Nice touch. The individual clients areas were modern also. I had a conversation about the free teeth whitening with the receptionist during my son's and my last appt there as she was scheduling his appoint for the teeth whitening. She was telling me the pros and cons and we had a long drawn out conversation about it. They sent a half dozen text confirmations for the appointment and called me at least two or three times to confirm it, just for him to arrive this morning and be told they had him down for a routine check up. WHAT?!!! HOW?? The inconvenience of waking up early on his day off, getting bombarded with appointment confirmations , then get an Uber to take him all the way there just to turn back around is beyond frustrating! I cancelled my appointment for my own dental work that was scheduled right after his. I sent him ahead of time but was in a meeting and about to be on my way. They told me he needed a parent consent to be seen but still had him for the wrong procedure! I could've signed consent when I got there which was about 20 mins later. Regardless of me being there at the same time or 20 mins later they still had him scheduled for the wrong thing. I'm glad I didn't waste anymore time! I will not be back. First off let me say I hate going to the dentist! But.... Mint was unexpectedly the best experience I have had by far. Front desk (can't remember names) they know you when you hit the door. Once I was checked in, they gave me a table, beats headphones, and a blanket for comfort. Once you get to the back its paradise! We talking Netflix, Hulu, Pandora and a vibrating chair. I was satisfied with chair and a little R&B jamming while received my deep cleaning and extraction. ( no they don't have laughing gas) But a numbing gel is applied before the big needle. And it's not as painful. I left happy with my two free trays of teeth whitening, brush and floss. *PPO is accepted here* Also if you feel that you can not pay they have plenty of options, and discounts! PLEASE DON'T GO!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED Ok so this was my FIRST TIME coming here and let me just say I will NOT BE COMING AGAIN! To start off the front desk was ok... they were quick and attentive but there were so many forms to sign which seemed suspicious to me but I just went along with it. The place seemed nice and clean at first but when you get to the back where the real work is done I found it to be unsanitary.... The chair I sat on for my procedure to be done had dog hairs on it?? And it wasn't just two or three hairs... it was a ton of dog hairs... They first told me about a plan that is $140 (which is what I was supposed to pay for the visit that day) and is supposed to be for the whole year DO NOT GET IT!!! ITS A SCAM! I was one of the damn victims that fell for it and stupid me for falling for it LESSON LEARNED but umm on top of those $140 what seemed to be the manager of the place told me that the visit would come out to be $200 and when I told her "that's fine" she got super happy and said "YESS" that seemed concerning since I felt like I helped her do something that wasn't supposed to be done.... After that the dentist proceeded with the procedure and didn't even do a good job at doing just a basic cleaning.... My smile still looked the same and she only opened up the spaced between my teeth.... She seemed scared to do the procedure and I feel bad she didn't have anyone to watch her and tell her if she is doing a good job or not. They do NO REFUNDS at all so don't even try the place. Oh and on top of no refunds they charge you $50-75 for late cancellations which seems reasonable but they don't even put that on to your account for your next visit. Very Friendly staff and dentists at this location. Nice office, tv's to watch (Netflix) or listen to your choice music while you're in the chair. Only complaint was felt they could have done more thorough cleaning compared to other dentist offices I've been to. But all in all, recommend THIS location. My daughter went to a Mint in Atascocita, had horrible experience. But it was due to the poor staff choice at that location, avoid it. I'll see my review on it if you want. But yea, give mint a shot. I visited this dentist with a broken molar that turned into a bad infection. The dentist was very thorough and seemed to actually care. I had to have a root canal done and I left feeling 90% better than I had when I first walked in. I went in a second time, today, to have impressions done for my permanent crown. I was just as please this visit, as I was my last. I would most definitely recommend Mint in Pasadena to anyone looking for a dentist office that is clean, has a pleasant atmosphere, and where they really care. I would not recommend this location. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I chose this location because of the reviews, and it was the closest location to my home. I am very disappointed with my experience at this location. The staff was very unprofessional and inconsiderate. I scheduled an appointment for Monday for treatment and cleaning and when I arrived the air conditioning was not working so I had to reschedule my appointment for Thursday. I was ok with that, but I was somewhat upset because someone from that office should have contacted me by phone to reschedule so would not have missed work and not drive have 30 miles just to be turned away. When I arrived for my appointment this time, the air conditioning was still not working. The building was hot and humid. The floors were wet from all the humidity and the staff members were sweating from the heat. The dentist informed me that he would not be able to perform the treatment, but he could do the exam and cleaning d/t the air conditioning not working. I work in the medical field, and I know this environment is unsanitary and I refuse to have any type of procedure done under those circumstances. I asked to have my information transferred to another location and I really needed to get in to have my treatment done today because I am in pain, and I took off another day from work to have it done. The other location that was closest did not have any appointments available until next week. So, that means I would have to miss another day from work, not to mention the person that has to drive me to these appointments would miss work as well. This is unacceptable. All of this could have been avoided if someone at this location would have common courtesy to call and inform me that the air conditioner was out. It's too late to fix what happened to me, but hopefully this review would help prevent it happening to someone else. read more

I had the same experience as "Dot" totally bombarded with confirmation calls all saying I had to have services I did not need. I asked to be transferred to the Friendswood location to talk to someone in that office so I could get one straight answer. The First Lady I talked to wouldn't give a name and the second I had to ask, manager "Kim". I honestly don't know if I was even really transferred there. Kim was extremely rude and kept interrupting me when I tried to explain what I needed. Will not be going there. Nightmare experience to even get there!!!! read more

I went for a crown today that should have been put on over a year ago. I didn't handle that which is my fault, but I accepted paying extra money so that I could have it remade since it didn't fit anymore. No problem. This crown was already billed to the insurance company back in mid-2020... But I have another tooth with a very noticeable cavity in the front that I'm becoming extremely uncomfortable with. It's wrecking my self-confidence. This was my primary concern during my visit. Now, I have reasonable insurance which is better than it was in June 2020 at my last visit. My last visit my out of pocket cost was around $600 for the crown. So today when I'm shown a treatment plan showing a crown that costs $1300 WITH my insurance I was devastated and very confused but they are short staffed and some people were waiting behind me not so patient like, so I left. I left in tears, knowing it's very unlikely I'm going to be able to fix that tooth for a while. Fast forward 2 hours and I'm doing my research looking at my old treatment plans and my insurance plan coverage online. I noticed on this new treatment plan my insurance is paying out far less than my portion of costs this time around, which is weird because my insurance covers 75% of the work. After waiting on hold for an hour with my insurance company I find out Mint is no longer in my network like it was 16 months ago! Are you kidding me? Being concerned by this information I called Mint first thing today and that is when I got the morning delight Natasha had to offer. I was asked to send my new insurance plan information to Mint by their staff prior to the appointment on Tuesday which I did, I sent it Friday. Natasha confirmed this morning that they received the insurance card and that the benefits were verified prior to the appointment. She then had the AUDACITY to tell me it was my responsibility for not calling my insurance provider to verify they were in network. I hung up on her because I am not in the habit of yelling at strangers and that is all I was about to do. Instead, I will leave this review and once my replacement crown is done, I will do everything in my power to make sure anyone I know or work with (and I am recruiter who used to recommend Mint to my associates since they are in network for their insurance) knows about this experience and hopefully choses to go another route. I will cry far and wide for people to explore their other options and stay away from Mint Dentistry. Mint used my benefits by completing all the X-rays and exam today... instead of my insurance paying an in network provider at a much lower cost they will be paying out of network costs (almost double). I'm allowed $2,100/year and they took more than they needed to because they just couldn't be honest and say "you're no longer in network. Let's just fix the crown you came in to fix today since you already paid for that and you can check your other options". That would have been the right thing to do. Instead they presented me with a $27,000 treatment plan and made no mention of the fact that it's only because they are not in network. Kim (what a joke) proceeded to agree that it was my responsibility when I tried calling after I calmed down from Natasha! NEVER has any doctor's office, dentist office or otherwise put this on me, the patient... that's why the information is verified prior to appointments... and when you do have a patient who used to be in network and no longer is it is the RIGHT and PROFESSIONAL thing to do; to let them know BEFORE you do whatever procedures are necessary. I now have to pay out of pocket for a second exam with a provider who is in network to get the work done that I need. Thanks Mint! I don't care putting all my business out there... I just want to make sure it's understood why I chose to leave this review. I am not some disgruntled patient... I was CHEATED and people deserve to know this is what Mint considers "good business". Haven't been to the dentist in MANY years and I was deathly afraid when I went here. Thankfully, the staff here was very friendly and professional and helped set my mind at ease. What also helped was the atmosphere. I have never been to a dental office that was this posh. I'm currently typing this while I sit in a massage chair. Yes, that's right...a massage chair! That's awesome. Even better, they have payment plans that seem fair and reasonable ( and right now anybody who knows me is just shaking his/her head because I'm known for always complaining about money and prices, so if *I* am saying it, well, you know it's true). Been with Mint Dentistry for about 3 yrs (Pasadena) was very impressed at first they actually impressed. Then they opened a new location by Baybrook Mall was exited because it was closer to home. Then I was given my treatment plan to take care of a Bridge, Fillings & possible Veneers. Changed my mind on that Bridge and take care of the fillings I was told NO! you have to do the Bridge first. Then tried to go back to the Pasadena location to get this done was told the manager is out for an emergency but will have a "covering manager contact you ASAP. I was told that a manager would contact me back in "2 hours," which that was not done when trying to schedule an appointment on my day off & again was told I personally will call you back in a few hours. That was not done so be careful when you use these Mint Dentistry locations. I was so pissed I asked for my xrays she told me that I will email them to you, but let me check with the physician that is here to see if we can make things better. Today was my first visit to Mint dentistry. The staff are wonderful very friendly and welcoming as I entered the office. The doctor is also very friendly as well. The office is very relaxing, and plays my favorite station KSBJ. It's also 2 minutes away from my house which is a plus. Will definitely be here again, for my future teeth cleanings.
