They kept telling me they would and by Friday, they said it was too long so they couldn't refund me... this was their fault, btw. I ended up paying out of pocket and had to use my insurance for glasses that I didn't need because I bought a pair of glasses the year prior. But I only go to the eye doctor once a year anyway. I went here in March 18 of LAST YEAR (2022) and I just got a bill from them this month (August 2023). Over a year later for $90 to fit me for contacts. By the way, the woman I saw here recommended monthly disposables which were a nightmare and so uncomfortable and I ended up ordering my regular ones online anyway. So, I also ended up wasting my money on the monthly disposables that I purchase here as well. This place is a complete waste of money and time which is why I never returned when I needed a new prescription this year. Don't say I didn't warn you and good luck.

They were running a bit behind (30 mins behind) but everyone at the office was so friendly and patient even with it being so close to closing time! Dr Mollega was a pleasure to meet. He was friendly and understanding. Took the time with me to ensure that I understood everything. I also got to see him interact with his employees and it was refreshing to see. Seemed like he treated them with the same kind and patience as his patients. Just a warning that they are scheduling out MANY months in advanced. Overall, I left the appointment feeling great. The old lady tech went in the back to adjust and damages one of the lens. I noticed a spec on them when I put them on and left i thought it was dust come to find out it was a chip right in my line of vision on the inside glass. I go back that same day she claims it was there already i know for a fact that it wasn't. I set another appointment with the doctor to get the script lowered and she fixed the lens and gave a little extra 5 stars to her. Now the tech will not help adjust my glasses now all she will do is tighten the screws and say they are good now when they still lean to the left. When other eye was done, he tried using another upgraded lens to compensate for the wrong one and eyesight was worse. After paying $3000 extra for the Johnson & Johnson upgraded lens we requested a refund which he gave us a sob story it would come out of his pocket... no regard for messing up my eyesight. He finally refunded us but when we returned for follow-up scheduled appointment he refused to see us and had nurse tell us we did not have an appointment. Total lack of integrity and honesty. No improvement in eyesight and he still got paid by Medicare and supplemental insurance.

In June of 2024, he suggested I have cataract surgery for both of my eyes. His assistant explained the three different cataract procedures, and she answered all my questions. She helped me to decide which lenses to get. She was super nice and personable. Actually, the whole staff knew how to treat a patient. I never felt rushed. I felt like I was the only patient that day. Dr Ruttig, in my opinion, is a very nice and knowledgeable doctor. I had each eye done on different days so the first eye could heal. After the second surgery, I wasn't happy with how my eye was healing. I explained how I was seeing. I waited 2 weeks to see if everything was going ok, but when I went for my appointment, he told me he and his assistant thought maybe a different lens would work better, so they scheduled another surgery. I also had issues with my bill from the hospital. I totally misunderstood the cost of the lenses and surgery. Hoda listened to my issues and said she would do some research. Hoda got back to me quickly and Dr. Ruttig refunded me a little under $3,000 to cover the costs of the hospital. I was so shocked. The office is amazing and so is Dr. Ruttig. Everyone is so professional, helpful and nice. I would highly recommend Eye M.D. of Niceville to anyone.
