Dr Streeter is thorough, professional and truly listens to patients. This last exam I pointed out a dry eye condition, most would have dismissed as allergies or age but he proceeded to examine my eyes again and noticed another problem not immediately noticeable, my bottom lids are slightly separating (fractions of millimeters) due to extra sagging skin and do not therefore spread moisture correctly. He gave me a good plan to follow. You're never rushed and he thoroughly goes over last visit first and your general health. The frontline staff are also amazing and eager to help with insurance, referrals, appointments or pricing glasses. I have been going to Palm Eye Care for about 4 years for glasses. I see an MD for my eye care. I have never gotten a warm fuzzy from the staff, but today was the last time I will be going back. I wanted to put new lenses in some glasses I bought from Palm Eye Care a few years ago. I got there as soon as they returned from lunch. I went to counter and told the receptionist what I needed, she asked me if I was a patient and I said yes, she found my info and asked me to take a seat and someone would be right with me. Well 15 minutes later no one came up to me, so I walked out. No one stopped me or followed with a phone call, they had my contact info, as to why I left. Now they will know. read more

I won't be going back. I setup an annual exam after visiting their clinic last year and wasn't told at the time that they moved locations a few months ago. When they left a reminder voicemail they failed again to mention that they had moved so when I went to my appointment I showed up at the old location. I called to ask where they were now located and it didn't seem to register that it might be important to inform customers who haven't been there in a year that they're located down the street, so I was late for my appointment. When I arrived the first thing they give you is a paper asking you to pay $25 more for an advanced eye exam, which I declined. During the exam I explained that I've been getting headaches after wearing the prescription computer glasses, with a minor magnification (+.5), that I was recommended last year. During the eye exam the Dr was having trouble determining my Rx level, so I asked if the results were inconclusive and she laughed and said that "you don't wanting a prescription, so yes it's inconclusive" implying that I was somehow being uncooperative on purpose, which is ridiculous. She suggested increasing my prescription even though my vision didn't change, costing $100+ to replace my current lenses for no clear reason. I opted to try wearing my glasses later during the day as my eyes became more tired rather than at the start of the work day. As I checked out, I asked why the prescriptions they provide don't have your pupil distance listed and they said they only provide that if you buy glasses there (their glasses are very expensive) or they'd charge an additional $25 to give you that information. Overall, it seems like they try to squeeze every cent from their customers and overcharge for their products, while providing poor customer service. read more

My initial refraction produced unwearable glasses. When I returned with a concern about not being able to see through the glasses I was told it would be some time until the optometrist could reevaluate the situation and only the eye tech could see me. She "wrapped" the glasses- essentially curved them at the nosepiece stating this would be the answer. I still was unable to see through the glasses and returned to wearing an old prescription while I then had to wait over a month for an appointment with the optometrist. There was no special consideration given me because I had an unwearable pair of glasses. I was the re refracted and the initial prescription was found to be in error and the glasses were remade. When I picked up the glasses, I saw only the tech again. No one has followed up to see if the new prescription is working and if it is not, I fear I will be waiting another month to be seen again. I am extremely disappointed in my patient experience. read more

First appointment for a yearly checkup. When I checked in, the front office staff informed me that my insurance company informed them in writing that my exam and contacts/lenses were completely covered. I questioned the insurance information because I was not sure when my last annual checkup and contact purchase was. They waved a paper in my face and said they have approval and not to worry. I decided to go ahead and get an exam for contacts. The exam was thorough and when I left they said they would call me when my contacts came in. The next day one of the staff called me and said I owed $70 for contacts and the insurance confirmation they informed me of was a mistake. I complained and asked to speak to a manager. The next day the office manager called me and was rude and unapologetic about the mistake and said it was a mistake and I had to pay. She said the Dr was informed of the mistake but I had to pay anyway. I felt I based my exam on the info they gave me, but the manager was inflexible and seemed she could care less about my business. I canceled my order and going to take my business somewhere else. Stand by what you inform your customers Palm Eye...bad business decision! read more
