Do not go here. This is probably the second business I've ever given a one star review to and I've been elite for years. They were supposed to charge my secondary insurance for my contacts and they didn't. They kept telling me they would and by Friday, they said it was too long so they couldn't refund me... this was their fault, btw. I ended up paying out of pocket and had to use my insurance for glasses that I didn't need because I bought a pair of glasses the year prior. But I only go to the eye doctor once a year anyway. I went here in March 18 of LAST YEAR (2022) and I just got a bill from them this month (August 2023). Over a year later for $90 to fit me for contacts. By the way, the woman I saw here recommended monthly disposables which were a nightmare and so uncomfortable and I ended up ordering my regular ones online anyway. So, I also ended up wasting my money on the monthly disposables that I purchase here as well. This place is a complete waste of money and time which is why I never returned when I needed a new prescription this year. Don't say I didn't warn you and good luck. read more

Dr. Wells is one of the best eye doctors to which we have ever been. He is VERY thorough and knowledgeable as well as patient and kind. My husband and I never felt rushed. His staff is also very friendly and knows what they are doing. All are very professional. It also appears that he has the most advanced equipment being used. Nice building on Hwy 98, great selection of eyewear. But...they focus on high-pressure sales, and provide ZERO customer service. I went to Wells for a pair of prescription Costa sunglasses in April. After meeting with Dr Wells for an (expensive) examination, he handed me off to the sales people, who of course pressured me to buy expensive clear glasses, which I neither wanted nor needed. I finally convinced them by walking directly to the pair of Costa sunglasses I wanted (thank goodness I'd researched beforehand). About 10 days later, I called to ask about my order -got the old "umm...they just arrived, we were about to call you". So, 4 months later, middle of the summer, my sunglasses have a manufacturing issue. Went back to Wells, where they basically said, somewhat rudely: "wow, you really have a problem with those glasses, they probably need to go back to the factory for 2-3 weeks, we're pretty sure they are still under warranty, replacements are not possible, we can't help you, deal with Costa". Worst customer service I've seen in a long time, not sure how they stay in business. I'll never go back to Wells, and certainly won't recommend them to anyone!! I have been seeing Dr. Wells for a few years. He and his staff are professional and helpful. They carry Designer Frames that are pricy. If you check around...they are pricy everywhere They are Designer..What customers want! They also have less expensive name brand frames. He has state of the art equipment and is very knowledgeable. read more

As a Panama City resident, Wells Vision and Laser Eye Center is well worth the drive! I was treated well and had all of my options explained to me so that I could make my own decisions. I had worn glasses and needed an update so I asked around and Dr. Wells and his folks kept coming up, even in PCB. We discussed LASIK and he made me a pair of glasses in the meantime. I received a discount on my LASIK based on the glasses he provided me! I was very satisfied with the LASIK procedure, however one eye just wasn't perfect. Dr. Wells quickly began testing for a small correction, which I received nearly a year later at absolutely zero cost to me! He is friendly, honest, and put patients first like no other doctor I've had. The staff at WVLEC are top-notch and there has been very little turnover in the past few years. The ladies know me by name and are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure I can get the appointments I need with my long commute. Yes, there are some expensive things there. But I see WVLEC as an upscale vision service provider and you get what you pay for with no pushy sales. They are constantly updating their systems and have the most state-of-the-art equipment in the Panhandle. Do yourself a favor and meet Dr. Wells before deciding on any other optometrist. read more

When I thought the horrible shingles I got after staying for the hurricane had traveled to my eye, Dr Wells returned to his office after leaving for the day on a Friday afternoon to examine my eye. Turns out all was okay, thankfully, but I really do appreciate his professionalism and compassion. I will return there when it's time for an examination.
