First of all, I need to say: I am not an easy client. I'm opinionated, detail-oriented, and…read morestubborn AF. And Jason never once pushed back, got annoyed--in fact, he was accommodating, thoughtful, and extremely helpful. My husband can use some tips.
So, we found out in May that we're expecting twins--which then prompted a rushed experience of selling our condo and buying a single family home. We interviewed other realtors and finally decided to go with Jason, because we liked buying from him in the past, but he also has really extensive experience in buying and selling in Fremont--especially the condo market. Apparently he's nicknamed "The Condo King" among other realtors.
First of all, Jason worked with us to price our condo just right. Our condo sold IN FOUR DAYS. Even in the process, Jason was really insightful in warning us with potential pitfalls, and did his due diligence to protect us from them. Second of all, with the staging and the creation of the flyer, I had so SO many opinions--and while we were crunched for time, he made it all work. I felt really listened to and valued as a client. We couldn't have had a better selling experience.
Now for the BUYING process. Jason was available basically at my beck and call when I wanted to look at a property. He also would do his homework and explain to me whether or not it was a property worth considering (there's so much that he is aware of--such as power lines, street configurations, etc. that I just didn't think about), but would always still take me to see it if I insisted. I deeply appreciated his wisdom about home buying. When you hire an agent, you want to hire someone with extensive expertise--and Jason is your guy.
Once we found a place we liked enough to bid, he helped us price it so it was competitive yet affordable. Again, he warned us of potential ways our offer would be declined (it's a tough market to buy!), so he helped set our expectations straight. Nevertheless, Jason worked really hard with the selling agent, and was able to convince them to take our offer (even though it wasn't the most highly priced one). When it came to negotiating a price, Jason really stuck it out with us, and never once pushed us to pay more just to get the house. He instead worked with our price range, and pushed hard to get the sellers to agree to our price. And it worked.
Unlike so many other Fremont homebuyers, our very first bid was accepted. And literally within a week of selling our condo, we were in contract to buy our single family home. The whole selling/buying process took less than a month. And Jason was a huge part of that.
Finally, there was this crazy hiccup while we were waiting for escrow to close. Our buyers had an emergency trip to India due to a relative's failing health--and our buyers were unaware they needed to sign the closing documents IN PERSON. Which meant they needed to go to the American Embassy in India to sign the docs. YIKES.
That delayed the close of our sale and the close of our purchase by a week--and we weren't sure if our buyers would be okay with that. However, Jason worked tirelessly (over a situation that wasn't his fault and he really had little control) to remedy it as much as possible. He was able to convince our buyers to rush the closing docs and convince our sellers to wait for our funds to come in.
I could rest easy knowing that Jason was there every step of the way. In fact, when waiting for the selling docs, he literally was on call with the DHL delivery team to make sure those docs came in that day. While we weren't sure if all was going to hell or not--we knew that Jason did everything and beyond to make sure it all went well. And it did.
Finally, Jason will be there for you when you sign the docs--ready to answer questions if needed. I was told very few agents show up for the escrow signing, but Jason was always there.
I cannot thank Jason enough for his hard work, patience, wisdom, and thoughtfulness through what could've (and should've) been a hellish process. The way he handled the crisis blew me away, and I know that like State Farm, Jason will be there.
TLDR: Jason helped us sell our home in 4 days, helped us get our first offer, and averted a crisis that would've nullified our buying.
