We ordered online from a phone and it was super easy to do!! We ordered 3 pizzas, all 14" and they were great sizes! I was pleasantly surprised by the cheese and toppings, well worth the $15-20 per pizza. When we picked up the pizzas, they were helping pick up orders first, so we highly recommend ordering in advance since they were busy and not much room to park. The pizza here is excellent and one of our favorites in Surf City and Sneads Ferry. Actual New York style with yeasty crust. Other than the service being a little sketchy at times and the obvious problem with the pizza boxes they have being too small for that largest size pizza. I'm not a big pizza eater but when I crave Pizza I want an amazing Pizza. That's what I thought I was going to get when I ordered from Michelangelo's this past weekend. However, I was terribly disappointed and mad and aggravated and lied to by the end of my delivery. The food was cold. The pizza had grease hardened on the top that is how cold it was. The lasagna had a piece of provolone cheese on the top that was not melted at all. Besides salad was slimy, so gross. I did call the store and complained. They said they would refund my money and was closing soon at 9:00 p.m. and would have the delivery driver bring back my money. To say the least, I went to bed hungry and pissed off without my money! I did however speak with a nice woman by the name of Jessica who helped me tremendously. I did get my money back eventually and a hard lesson learned. DON'T ORDER FROM HERE!!!!! read more

It has been years since I have been to this restaurant. Last time I was there I would have given it a negative if I could. But now I can honestly say it is definitely hovering around a 3 star. I used multiple different things in order to form my current "star" judgement including the attitude of staff, cleanliness, parking, taste of food, and was the taste worth the cost or the hassle. So first the attitude of the staff. Immediately when I walked in, I was greeted by two very lovely waitresses, who told me I could sit anywhere I liked. I chose to sit at the bar where I could see into the kitchen. The waitress behind the bar quickly took my drink order and handed me a menu. After some internal debate I ended up ordering quite a bit of food so I could sample a little of everything. Yes, you guessed it, I will be eating leftovers tomorrow too. I ordered a MUG rootbeer, slice of pepperoni, ham & mushroom, an order of fried pickles, 2 meatballs with mozzarella, a chef salad, and limoncello cake slice. I also explained that I have a severe deathly allergic reaction to onion so nothing can touch onion. Upon asking, she explained the salads are premade daily. the difference between the chef salad and the house salad is the ham, turkey and salami sandwich meat that comes cut up on top. So for this the staff would get a 4.5 stars. Now we move on to cleanliness. Obviously I didn't get out a set of white gloves or inspect the kitchen, but all the dirty dishes were picked up, the tables wiped off, the floor swept. Everything looked very sanitized. I would give them a 4 on cleanliness. Now comes the parking. This restaurant is located in a beach town that is 15 minutes down the road from the biggest Marine Corps base on the East Coast. Between all the Marines, Civilians, and contractors, and their families, then you throw tourists in the mix, having an exceptionally small parking lot that is shared by 3 restaurants is an absolute disaster. I have attached a picture of google earth with labels of the restaurants and the employee parking for the one set of restaurants. On to the fun part, the Food!!! Chef Salad - I like my salad to be green. Today I received a salad where most of the lettuce was almost the same color as the cheese: white, white, white. It had 4 small tomatoes, cheese, and sandwich meat that had been rolled and cut so it was spiraled like a pinwheel. To me, definitely not worth the $6.99 price tag. Pizza slice - over all not bad. Michaelangelo's cooks New York style pizza which has a tendency to be real chewy. The pizza surprisingly wasn't like chewing on a rubber dog toy, and had a decent flavor. The toppings were good as well. I did have some grease but that is to be expected. Yes it is worth the $3.50 for a slice. Limoncello cake - probably the biggest disappointment. I love all things lemon, but the slices are taken put of their original packaging, put onto new packages that are individual packages and placed in the refrigerator to keep them fresher longer. One problem with this is, like my slice today, the frosting is great, but the cake itself is soggy and mushy. Was definitely, hands down, 100% not worth paying $5.25! MUG rootbeer - well it is my favorite rootbeer and the machine was in good working condition so no issues on that front. Meantballs - these were super yummy. They were also a pretty hefty size coming in at just a little smaller than a tennis ball. Definitely worth the price! Fried Pickles - I was surprised to find that the batter on these was a bit on the spicy side. I love spicy food so its wasn't an issue for me, but it was a shock. I can imagine it being an issue if someone who doesn't like spicy foods orders them though. And, they were good, but they didn't leave you with that super amazed feeling. I was left with, meh it was good. Definitely not good enough to fight the parking lot battle to come in and pay $8.50. I think if I was there with friends and we were getting pizza I might entertain getting them if it were $6 but not $8.5 So again to recap, the service was excellent, the parking stinks and the food is hot and miss on what's good, what's meh, and what's in the "just don't eat that" category. read more

It was pathetic. This is my first review ever. I should call the police. I feel that I was robbed of $19.50. The chicken Parmigian was worse than spaghettios. Served in tin foil. Not terrible if you're in a pinch for something to eat. We were working and not familiar with the area. Staff was friendly and food was okay. Hoping for something a little bit healthier, I ordered the chicken pita with no ranch. I was so disappointed when the pita came and it was fried. I'm sitting here as I write this review... I do not recommend eating here if you want good pizza, this is less than sub par in my opinion. We ordered a pepperoni and mushroom slice, the mushroom were cut up and just placed raw on top, didn't heat them up or cook them on it. The pepperoni and onion slice was the same way- pulled the pre-made pizza out of the warmer and threw some raw onions on it, not warm or cooked on top. HIGHLY disappointed and feeling robbed of my $20 spent here. It used to be really good but just looks like a bunch of young kids running the place now. No gloves, rust all over the condiment holders in the center of the table, not to mention their 93.0 health score. We used to come here all the time but won't be coming here anymore. I ordered pick up from here, and the calzone I got was great! Great service, and quick turn around time! It's the hot dog we got that things started turning south. The bread had a small spot of mold on it. Being sensible people, we just pinched it off; but, the bun tasted moldy. Wish I had taken a picture. Horrible experience here!! Came in to watch the USA WOMEN'S World Cup, and they refused the play the game with the sound. Literally, there were 4 ppl in there when we arrived. They were playing espn on the channels, but not the World Cup match. I asked them to turn on the game, and if they could let the game play through the speakers. When I asked for the sound, the sexist chef said "absolutely not!" WTF?!?!?? I asked why not, and he just kept repeating "it's not a sports bar." I said it's the finals match, and it's the USA playing?!? He refused in the most impolite way and just said no. The food here is decent, but the service is horrible. The chef behind the counter should feel like a POS. IMO, he's unAmerican, sexist, and a traitor. Seriously, he's what's wrong today. I bet he wouldn't say "it's not a sport bar" for the Super Bowl. Possibly the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I ordered my pizza and waited an hour for it to arrive. When it arrived the toppings were not what I ordered. No problem, I figured I'd call and have it sorted. I called back and spoke with a manager. This is where it went down hill. I explained the issue and asked if it could be corrected. I was told I had to give them back the incorrect pizza. Not an issue, however when I asked how long it would take to get the new pizza, I was told "however long it takes". I said I've waited an hour already and can't wait another hour for a new pizza. Again "when it's ready and I have a driver you'll get it". I asked for a shop credit instead as I have a 7 year old I need to feed dinner too and he won't eat these toppings. I was told no store credit, I still need to give back the pizza, which would take an hour to come pick up. I'm sorry, but you messed up my order, refused to help me. At minimum you should have offered to remake the pizza and if you didn't have a driver, you should have had a manager bring it to me. $25 for the wrong pizza down the drain. We were hungry for pizza so I looked on line for local pizza shops. We've lived here for 11 years and never considered Michelangelo's for pizza! So I pulled up the online menu and we ended up ordering a calzone and a Stromboli for pick up. On arrival the staff was very attentive and took care of business immediately. Our food was ready to go right on time and hot out of the oven. And let me say the food was fantastic! The crust was delicious and the ingredients blended very well.
