If you need a fresh haircut, Michael's is the spot. I went to Rafaels once before but I came here at my friend's recommendation once it opened up. The spot is modern looking, plenty of large TV's, couches, and a pool table. The gowns you wear during your haircut have a little plastic screen where you can just look down at your phone and use it during the haircut (genius idea.) Its just a dope spot to just chill while you wait for a haircut. I get my hair cut by Donnie who is a young thug. He is a real cool dude. He ain't afraid to ask me on my birthday if i'm gonna get some birthday sex even though I told him i'll be going straight to church after my haircut to preach a sermon. I am a Queens resident and was running errands on LI...I passed by Michael's onmy way to TJ Maxx and decided to give it a try. I usually have my head and face shaved...many shops are substandard IMO...cut me...irritate me with razor burn...skimp on the hot towels...not here....Sal was a true craftsmen...he was pleasant, professional...high attention to detail...gentle with the razor...took the time to not only do it right...but to do it WELL!!! Nice enough barbers, great that they take walk ins. Very pricey for a standard haircut. $21 (unless they automatically include the tip) It wasn't the way my haircut looked, but I was annoyed that they didn't shave my neck like any other barber would... my barber nearby charges $16 for the same quality haircut and a neck shave. I probably won't go back. ($21 plus $5 tip ... $26) Nothing that special. read more

Michael's Barber Shop reminds me of the old school barber shops I use to grow up to in Long Island. The friendly barber has a chat, genuinely want to hear about your day, and by the end of the conversation you have a great haircut. These guys were incredibly nice and spend extra time on your hair where needed. In addition, they fixed up my beard and neck with a one-blade and I received not one cut! The intersection of Woodbury Road and South Oyster Bay Road has some excellent barber shops but this is now the one I choose to go to when I'm on Long Island. I followed Donnie here from another barber shop, he's very good. I've also had my haircut by the other guys here and was happy with the results. They finish off every haircut with a straight edge shave to the back of the neck with a new razor and a hot towel. The shop is very large with plenty of comfortable seating and a pool table. I've never had a wait more than 10 minutes if at all. A haircut is only $16. read more

He's literally the best barber I've ever had and I'm from Queens, NY so that's saying something. You can tell right from the start that he loves what he does. He doesn't rush & he takes his time to get to know you, which is important in the haircut game. He pays close attention to detail & I guarantee you won't leave disappointed. Even when Roman is busy & has a line of guys waiting to see him, I'll still wait. Over a year later, Roman is still my go-to guy. This is the place- guys are friendly and there isn't a guy here who can't cut hair-- I used to go to the place on the other side of town p--ge barber and i would sometimes end up with a total loser. This place used to be good not anymore especially after some new barbers. The guy who cut my hair is very unprofessional rude and has a bad attitude. I explained to him exactly what I wanted and even showed him a picture and the end result was so horrible. I could have done this myself and made it look way better than what the guy did. I went in last night after work and it looked very very crowded, but as I stepped into the door, one employee greeted me and said come sit in a chair. Within a few minutes I was getting a haircut. Great location, ample parking, ample seating area with comfortable couches, five 60" TVs, pool table to kill wait time, ATM machine in the shop itself. Overall a very good experience.
