My boyfriend and I recently got into RC cars, and he has visited Riders a few times to pick up…read moreparts. Unfortunately, each visit has been disappointing. They often sell him the wrong items or are completely out of what he needs to get his RC car running. Most recently, he purchased a brushless motor they recommended, and we returned today hoping to buy a transmitter. To our surprise, we were informed that they wouldn't have any in stock until the end of August! To add to our frustration, they have a strict no-return policy, so we're stuck with parts that don't work for us. It's frustrating to rely on a shop that consistently misses the mark on customer needs and doesn't offer refunds for incorrect purchases. We won't be coming back and want to warn others to think twice before buying from them.

Good evening I just bought a Traxxas X-Maxx Ultimate over the past weekend at a different shop…read moreonly because they didn't have that one in stock. I work 2 blocks down the street so was looking at long term relation ship for this next step for me with this new hobby. I noticed the shocks didn't have oil in them so stop in to check asked them they said yes they should have had oil in them but maybe not enough I said well let me grab it from my Jeep and tell me what you think a kid looked to be 20 said there's a $30 charge for that! Hu?? really I said your joking right he said nope I'm like keep that oil and any other stuff I might need I wont buy anything from here! this could have been a great thing but to be like that cant even take 2 seconds to look at something with out wanting money or to get paid! I was shocked that never used to be like that people would give you help with something just as a courtesy good for business. well I had allot of money to spend there maybe not today but there's other cars I might have wanted down the road that one I just bought was $2200 well it wont be from there. ( its going to happen someone some ware will be having a heart attach but before any life saving measures happen there's going to be a charge)

Very helpful, pricing decent for a small shop. As far as what Jane D. wrote, she wants to support a…read moresmall shop but is unwilling to pay extra to keep them around. OVERPRICED! My husband made Maple City Hobbies his destination when he wanted to build model…read morerockets with the kids. I don't think he was aware of the existence of Hobby Lobby at the time, so he made the much farther 45 minute trek to Goshen to MCH. Hubby said the store was slightly dirty but the person working polite. He said they had a decent selection, so he purchased 2 model rockets: Big Bertha & Starship Octavius. After finishing assembly, the kids decided they wanted to choose different paint colors for their rockets as well as pick out their next project (building model cars). Needing to go to Mishawaka, we went to Hobby Lobby (HL) this time. Of course their selection is massive, and there were a lot of things hubby saw there that he also saw at MCH. His excitement quickly turned into frustration when he realized that a lot of the same products he had purchased at MCH were almost double that the price of HL. He paid $16 for a rocket (Starship Octavius) at MCH & the same one was at HL for $9.99. He found this to be the case with most every aspect of the project. Talk about disappointing! He vowed to only do his hobby affairs with HL moving forward. Very sad, because we always want to support small businesses.. but gouging the prices in such a way is what makes folks turn their backs on these small mom & pop shops, and steer more towards the big box stores.
