I couldn't hear her, so she yelled louder and pointed telling me to look further down the store. I found nothing other than 3 solitary boards, one of which was damaged, and all three were too thick. I went back to see if she could help; again, she simply yelled something. I grabbed one that wasn't damaged figuring I might be able to cut it to size and use it. I politely told the cashier of my less than desirble experience with the framer. She didn't even acknowledge my concern, instead she asked me if I would like a Michael's Credit Card. No Thank you. THAT SAID, I love Michael's online shopping experience and have purchased $$$ of paint, varnish, boards, and brushes that way. The turnarund time is excellent and the products are always in perfect condition. I urge folks to stay out of this store and support the online alternative.

This older gentleman, (with the same tommy hilferger button up i own lol ) seen me at the frame service counter at roughly 4:30pm xmas eve, and this man was already buffing the floors when he seen my canvas on the counter and informed me there was nothing they could do.. i think he seen the heartbreak in my eyes and seen the portrait of my daughter that i been painting for 2 months, and told me what he could do giving the resources available. Mr. Andrew at linden rd location went above and beyond to make this happen for me, and wouldn't even accept the exorbitant tip i tried to give him for the holidays.. im super greatful for mr. There's a vintage area with tons of old, vintage papers, photographs, sheet music, postcards, photo albums, negatives, etc. Loads of scrap fabric and remnants, yarn, embroidery floss, notions, scrap paper, scrapbooking materials, stickers, stencils, even industrial supplies like foam scraps, and household materials like pill bottles (empty of course), lids, jars, storage containers, craft kits, old calendars, big bins of wine corks, pens, etc. They have a HUGE selection of old National Geographic issues, some going back as far as the 1930s. Perfect for collages or collecting. They also have a few machines like scales, microscopes, sewing machines, etc. As well as a few tools, wood and metal working items, just bits and bobs of tons of things to sort through. It changes all the time so stop in regularly to see what they get in! And the best part? It's all SO cheap and keeps all these things out of landfills (56K lbs just last year)! Upcycling FTW! Some things are in better condition than others but if you're the creative type you will be inspired by all you can find here. And since things are so affordable you can really take risks and noodle around without worrying about wasting your supplies. Want more inspo? I found Michigan Fine Yarns when looking for a place to supplement the soon to be closed Joann's. Someone recommended this on an online knitting forum and I took a risk. They have a very easy to navigate website with a ton of offerings in any color, thickness, weight, and material you could image. The only downside to being an online customer is that we cannot feel the yarn. However, I received a call once when purchasing the pink yarn where they inquired as to what I was making because there were two lots with different dyes used so there was a slight color difference. I was taken aback by how thorough their customer service was and how thoughtful that interaction was! I've attached photos of some projects that I have completed (I'm new to knitting so any mistakes are truly my own and not due to the yarn). I will continue to purchase from Michigan Fine Yarns as they have a range of yarns that can fit any budget. I like to work with the 100% Peruvian wool from Cascade yarns the most and my local yarn stores don't have them in the quantity that I need. I cannot wait until life brings me to Ann Arbor and I can visit this store in person! I might feel like I've died and gone to Heaven.
