Staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. There is a good selection of arts and crafts products.

I went to Michaels to find wool to make trivets. I asked Kenverly where I would find it. She showed me. Than I went back and asked Kenverly for help selecting the colors. She smiled, got up from working on a box on the floor. She came with me, suggested the color combination, and smiled again. She was very helpful and an asset to Michaels. Been here a couple of times as of late. Had to return some items. They have turned 3 registers into self service kiosks which is great! Not for those paying cash or customers with returns. The day I needed to return I had an appointment, thought I would stop in return and leave. There was a woman that bought a whole bunch of stuff for a nonprofit. Needless to say waiting in line 30 minutes before they helped the return (me) and cash paying customers was a bit much. I am a patient person, but was really annoyed. They just kept yelling out you can use the self serve kiosk, what happened to customer service? read more

I went into Michael's in Clark on Saturday morning to purchase a picture frame I saw advertised on sale. I found over 10 of the advertised frames on a shelf and the price was $5 on clearance . When I checked out, the price came up as $11.99 for this cheap plastic frame. I went all the way to the back of the store to check and came back and told two very disinterested sales associates that the price was $5 and they told me someone must have put in on the shelf by mistake and the price was $11.99 to which I replied, then someone had to put all 10 plus of them on the same shelf. They never offered to look at the shelf or even search their inventory on line. I am not really sure if this is a bait and switch tactic sanctioned by Michael's corporate offices, but I will never return to that or any other Michael's stores. Also, for the two associates working the register Saturday morning July 19th in Clark, you may want to look into another line of work. Customer service is obviously not a strength. read more

Unfortunatley, this Michaels never has what I need and it's the closest one by me. So I end up going to the one all the way in Bridgewater. I really want to like this place but they just never have anything or never in stock. And I can't find anyone here to help me out. Always 1-2 people on the register so check out is forever. read more

The store was way better before they understaffed everyone, everything takes forever now, can't find someone to help because everyone is busy taking customers, they added self checkout but it doesn't take cash so it takes just as long if not longer now that they have less cashiers available. The workers are fine, it's whoever decided to cut all the staff that really messed things up! read more

Problems all the time I have to go to Michaels. Other Michaels such a pleasure. No one is ever around to help you! Always a line at the register and online ordering with curbside pickup takes days to be ready. And forget about ever calling on the phone they always put you on hold for 20+ minutes. Don't bother calling asking for any help! I called the store before ordering online to make sure they had what I was looking for. The guy who answered checked for my item which he said he had only one left. I asked him to hold it when he told me it's better to order it online to pick up in the store. Do I did. Few hours later I get my confirmation email that my order is ready for pick up. The email only shows one of two items only ready. When I called to inquire about the one item, I'm told by a manager that they don't have it in stock. When I question her as to why the guy told me he had it in his hand she tells me he gave it to pick for another order!!!!! Wtf?! I wanted him to hold it for me instead of paying online for this reason!!!! I won't be shopping there anymore and neither should anyone else. AC Moore is better than this place!!! read more

Contrary to other Michael's stores in New Jersey, this specific one barely carries any inventory. In addition, customer service was terrible and should be fixed immediately . The cashier, a Caucasian woman, was rude and sarcastic, and didn't help the checkout process at all. There were barely any workers around and only 1-2 cashiers. I love Michaels, so why only two stars? Every time I come here it is impossible to find an associate to help me. I search the entire store and they usually have associates at the registers but no one to help customers. The times I have found someone they haven't been the most helpful, their usual reply is " it's around the corner instead of " it's in aisle 9, here let me show you". The associates at the Michaels in Watchung are usually very eager to help me but not in this Michaels. read more

I purchased a home in the area recently, and have been to this Michaels in several occasions. I recently had purchased a significant amount of items online from the Michael's site and some came in damaged, and most without tags. I went to the store this past Sunday November 4th to make a return of some of the items that were damaged and I didnt use. I asked if I can return the items. The customer service representative was very understanding and tired to help me as much as possible. Unfortunately she had to get the supervisor to continue to help with the rest of the return. The supervisor was not only rude when answering my questions, but insinuated that I bought the items elsewhere and also was very loud and others in line can hear our conversation. She turned me away with several items that I showed her were purchased online and had the Michaels log in on my phone showing her the order and my email invoice with the listing, and she still turned me away and told me I needed the invoice for the sku when clearly some of the items were in the store and she could of scanned an item to obtain the item sku, and processed the return. She also denied a return to my account and provided me with a gift card even though I had the online confirmation, order number and credit card I purchased with. I find this very inconvenient that I have to be embarrassed, accused, and turned away because they cant verify online purchases in store or are to lazy to make sure they do their job all the way. I would never return to Michaels, due to this managers lack of professionalism and sarcasm. read more

Michaels charges double retail when coupons come out. Copic Markers 36 piece set, sells for $188, Michaels is charging $379. Prismacolor pencils are selling for $179 at Michaels. I purchased with 50% off coupon, paid $90 and thought I got a great deal. After learning about Copic, I researched Prisma and found out Michaels had doubled the cost on that product as well! 150 pencils sell for $92, Michaels charging $179. Shop at Hobby Lobby, they don't mislead their customers this way. Extremely unethical practice by Michaels. I'll make sure I advise customers of this on all social media accounts, don't want people being ripped off. read more

There is ALWAYS a long line at the cash register. The cashiers are not the sharpest pencils in the craft store, if you know what I mean. Last week, I placed the item that I was buying, along with 3 coupons with different amounts of discounts on the counter. The cashier said, "Well, let's see... this coupon is for 30% off, this one is for 40% off and this one is for 50% off. So I'll take the 30% off." I told her that I'd rather use the 50% off. This morning I went back to purchase the same item and I had a 40% off coupon. This time, the cashier, a young girl with long, pink, braided extensions told me that I couldn't use the coupon. I told her that I had used a coupon on that same item a few days ago, and she said that it must have it on sale. I repeated that it was not on sale, and that the cashier had let me use the 40% off coupon. I added that I had ALSO bought the same item at the Michaels in Watchung, and they had let me use my coupon there, as well. Her reply - "Well, they must have been nice." I agree - they MUST have been nice. And this cashier certainly was not!!! read more

This raggedy store is the worst Michael's ever. I should have gone to the East Hanover location instead where they have top-rated customer service. I just left out of the Clark store looking for a sheet of self stick gold gems. The website clearly states that this item was in the store. I didn't see it in it's normal location, so I asked one of the employees if she could help me find it. The look on her face was though she was offended that I asked her to do her job. She came over and barely looked in the bottom drawers for the item. So I asked her to check the stock room. How dare I ask her that!! She snatched one of the gem sheets in a different color and stormed off somewhere in the back. I even offered her the product number of the gold one, but she refused to take it. Then she comes back with a lame excuse as to why the item was not in the store. I just walked off without a word because what I wanted to say was not nice. In my opinion, she should have stayed in the stock room far away from customers. I don't know who interviewed or hired her, but that person must have been very desperate. She'd better be very thankful that she has a job! East Hanover is where I'll be going from now on. read more

The lady at the register was yelling at us (btw this was Christmas Eve while we were shopping for our daughter) when asked about the price mismatch. If they do not understand the reason why people buy Presents for Christmas from Micheals then I do not think they understand Happiness. I will never return to a store like this. read more

I stopped by this store for the first time while in the shopping center. There wasn't much help on the floor but I was lucky to have a sweet girl help me out. I was looking for a particular item and she walked me right over to it (with a smile). I didn't catch her name but she was in a wheelchair. Couldn't be nicer. Just went into the store for the first time on Sunday March 20th, at 2PM. The manager Tavan/Shavan was completely disrespectful, demeaning and racist. She talked to my husband who is white, with "Sir, hello how are you, thank you... etc." When she saw me, no hello or greetings, and she started talking to me rudely and asking me to push my thing forward, then continued to smack my items down and treat me with utter disrespect. When I blatantly pointed her change in attitude.. she shrugged and said she didn't think I spoke English. I can tell you I am lit... and she should be fired. Then the next person on line was white, and she went back to finding her manners. Funny that she is black, and has green eyes and yet she sees someone with tan skin and treats them with less respect... she should not work in customer service and certainly Michael's should speak to her, if not fire her. read more

I've shopped at Michaels stores for years, and have spent so much money with them on crafts for my wedding and many other projects. I was excited to try out the new store since it was fully stocked and close to me. I will never shop there again unless their employees learn how things work instead of turning customers away. I bought yarn while it was in sale in a few different colors, after I got home I realized I got too much of one color, and went back the next chance I could, which was a few days after the sale ended. All I wanted to do was exchange the yarn I had too much of for THE SAME YARN in a different color, and I was told that couldn't be done. I've NEVER had an issue with something like that at any of the other Michaels' stores. They would just scan the yarn I didn't want and then scan the yarn I did want and do a price adjustment so that it would come to $0. I was told they would only give me the lowest price even though I had the credit card it was purchase on, which means for me to switch to the new color they wanted to charge me $4.25 more for each one. Rather than listening to what the other Michaels stores do I was given an attitude and told that they can't do exchanges because it will mess up their inventory, sorry but that's not good customer service. That's bullshit, because doing a price adjustment will not mess up inventory. I will never shop in that store again. I am so furious with the way this was handled, if I didn't have $60 of yarn from Michaels to deal with now, I would never step foot in another one of their stores. AC Moore and Joanne's Fabric are just as good with product selection and way better with customer service, I guess I learned the hard way. read more
