I used to buy at Barnes & Noble and Amazon, but this place has a much better price and promotions. Although not my thing, this store has a section for Warhammers, D&D, and living card games. It also hosts tournaments and game demos, of which schedule can be found on the store website or social. The only minus point is there is no shipping if you're from out of town. But that what keeps this place a hidden gem of DFW.

It's everything you want from a place that just sells cool rocks. It feels like old America, like it's been here since the 50s. It has a small-ton vibe, transporting really. It's got lots of cool sparkly, shiny, colorful, blows-my-mind-this-forms-on-its-own things to look at and touch. At the center of all of it is a proprietor who completes the experience. Magnifying goggles sit atop of his head at all times, like they live there, ready at any time to inspect the mineral in front of him. He possesses seemlingly infinite enthusiasm for conversation about the objects in his shop, as if a sale is less a transaction and more an act of sharing. I've noticed he seems to spontaneously mark items down as he's wrapping and loading them carefully in the bag, just because. I wasn't sure what size frames that I needed to purchase and was looking through different sized frames based on my picture that I brought with me. Also, the frames were BOGO, but, I was not sure which frames were part of that deal. All the while, a Caucasian male employee followed me around, keeping close tabs on what I was doing, yet, not once acknowledged that I was shopping, trying to spend money in this store, or asking if I needed help. As close as he watched me, he knew that I was in need of help. Why did I need to ask when I was already uncomfortably being watched? I pick out the frames that I thought were BOGO, only to get to the register to determine that they were not. I had to find out at the register what brand frames were on sale and go back to the frames area and start my search all over. I'm going to call it what it was. I won't ever be back.

I asked my husband to go with me and that's how we ended up here. So we found the boxes and proceeded to grab 5 of them. We noticed that the self checkouts were all card only, but one. The guy in front of us used it and then walked away- so we went to the register. The lady looked at us and was like "ugh, can I help you" and we said yes we have these. She was talking on the radio and kept telling us to use a self checkout and I said I had cash. She was like ugh and said I will see if I can get someone here. Mind you we were standing in front of her for more than 5mins. And My husband was like no it's fine don't worry about it he would just use his card and she just was like okay and walked away. I understand if you're are in between something, but being in retail you assist the customer or explain the situation like "I'm sorry I don't work up here, but I can definitely have someone come up here to help you if you don't mind waiting for a minute," but no she just doesn't say anything and was like she wanted to get away and rolled her eyes.
