I'm not sure why this Walmart is so frowned upon; it's just a regular grocery store; I'm not sure why folks think they'll have the most opulent experience there. Not to mention that most of these reviews are quite outdated; I recall when the check out lines were extremely lengthy and took a long time, but now they have self-checkout, which eliminates the lines entirely. Apart from that, as another reviewer stated, Walmart has no influence over whether or not people want to throw hands or dispute, as it is human nature. Just stick in your own lane and you'll be good. Nonetheless, it's a decent store, though not the cleanest, but it's a major chain grocery store, so it's understandable that it's difficult to manage, especially when some of their customers never put their belongings back where they belong. But, I mean, it contains pretty much everything you'll ever need, not to mention that the staff is usually friendly and helpful if you ever need assistance. If you're in a hurry, need a few goods, or maybe need to do grocery shopping, this is the place to go. Possibly the sketchiest Walmart we have ever been to. Remember in Home Alone 2 when Kevin is alone and afraid in NYC and gets into a taxi and says "Boy! It's scary out there." And the taxi driver says, "Ain't much better in here kid." Yeah, that pretty much sums up this Walmart. My family and I were staying in the Holiday Inn Express across the street and urgently needed diapers. Judging from the area upon driving in, we wanted to get in and out of Walmart before the sun set. In late February, the parking lot looked as though it was Black Friday. I couldn't BELIEVE how many people were at this place, around 6:30-7pm on a Saturday night. Goodie. The set up of this store was unlike any Walmart I've ever been to. (Normally, the pharmacy is along the outer wall, usually right when you enter... this Walmart has the pharmacy smack dab in the middle of the store. Strange.) Since we didn't want to be in here longer than we had to, we asked a worker for where the diapers were located. The slightest positive is that the gentleman we asked was friendly when he told us. The store seemed to be in complete disarray. Discarded items were left wherever. Piles of unwanted items were stacked up all around the price scanners. It was a mess. Oh and then there was the part where we walked past a customer who sh*t his pants. At first we thought it was our kid (hence being there to get the diapers)... well, it wasn't our kid. It was literally a grownup. A quick self checkout to avoid waiting in a line and we were out the door... never to return again! I moved into the area last December, and this Walmart is the only "supermarket" within about a ten-mile radius. Every time I go here be it in store or curbside, I find myself muttering profanities under my breath. In store, it's impossible to get up and down any given aisle as they are always crowded, often times with the pickers for curbside and delivery. I get so frustrated being physically incapable of moving. The check-out is nearly 100% self check-out, then you've got to navigate the receipt police on the way out, whom I have never stopped for because I would love for them to make that attempt and show probable cause. One of the options at self check-out is no receipt. I'm curious how that would go on the way out should one choose to stop. For curbside, my second to last order vaguely resembled my actual order when I got home and looked through the bag. A few items were missing that I was charged for, and there was really nothing I could do to prove it. The most recent curbside attempt never happened. I sat in my spot for thirty minutes watching other cars pull up, get loaded up, and leave. I abandoned the pursuit. A few minutes later, I got a notification that my order was picked up. By whom? Guess I'll be eating that money. The great irony is that Walmart has become obsessed with customer theft making the in-store experience feel like an indictment, booking and arraignment from entry to exit, and yet they've stolen from me twice on curbside. I'm committed to making the twenty mile each way drive up to WinCo in Carrollton now. The employees are awesome and the prices blow Walmart out of the water. I tried, Walmart. I really did, but you've failed me enough times to put me off you forever. I was even considering doing Walmart Plus for the delivery, but I just can't trust you to get it right. Update: I did get refunded for the missing order...after trying to do it online and Walmart telling me to physically return the items I never received. When I arrived to have the tires installed (I had an appointment), I was told tires would not fix and they could not refund or cancel tire order. Went back an forth 4 times between customer service (super rude employees) and Auto shop. Each one sending me to the other department. In the end, no refund, no tires. The shoe department was a mess! Wanted to get in and out and had no clue where the display shoe had box stock, where the tag was to line up the price and wasted 15 minutes looking for help!! This is literally not only the worst wal mart I've ever been to but the worst grocery store I've ever tried to pick up food at. Their pickup department is especially awful. First time I waited an hour after checking in for someone to bring me my groceries. Second time I got a notification that it had already been filled before I checked in and actually got to the store which was confusing so I cancelled that order and this third time I reserved a pick up slot from 8-9. I got a notification that it was going to be delayed so I called and asked about how long would it be and the woman told me that she didn't know why it let me reserve that time slot because the entire pick up staff leaves at 8pm. Wtf so then I'm like ok I'll just pick it up in the morning. At 8:55 I get a notification that my pick up order is now ready, and that it expires tonight. So do they leave at 8 or not? SCARIEST WALMART EVER!!! Like...by a million bazillion. I will admit that Walmart is great place to get cheap household goods....i.e. laundry baskets, trash cans, paper towels, toothpaste...etc. Just shop at another location...not this one. Please. I am trying to save your life. There are two instances I'd like to discuss: ONE: We went one Sunday and whilst in the cookware aisle my friend was getting eye raped by the guy down the aisle. Every aisle we went too...VOILA he was there. She felt very violated and the people are from outer space...very outer. Poor thing. I wanted to shield her like from the Paparazzi...throw a coat over her head so he would stop with the eye raping. I felt like we were running through the aisles to escape the guy...but no. He fell in love. And we felt violated. TWO: Saturday night. 9:30pm. Don't ask why I was there...I was tagging along. BF needed to get a tripod for his camera...the cases were locked that held these $10 beauties. So I went to the kiosk where the electronics guy was and asked if he could unlock the cabinet. He goes "It's locked and I don't have a key. I'll have to get a manager." Then he just stood there...I go "Ok, can you get a manager?" He replied with attitude, "I guess". Um ok dude. We waited about 20 minutes for someone to come. Really? In the meantime, I did a hell of a lot of people watching. The only thing I can say is that I feel like it was a pickup joint and that there needed to be a bar in the back of the store. Guys were checking girls out and girls were hanging out in the aisles suckin on lolipops...yea I bet. The store has a stale smell, its dirty and the people in there don't know what a shower is for. The carts are uber-squeaky and the parking lot felt as if we were gonna be involved in a drive by. Couldn't get out of there fast enough and I told my BF if he ever brought me there again I would end his life. He nodded and said "ok". He knows I don't play around. The auto center has NEVER had ANYTHING that I needed. They always have it shipped from another store or directed me to go to a different location...and I'm talking about tires and batteries here. It's called Walmart Tire & Battery Center. What's the problem here? They don't sell alcohol. At all. Which is probably a good thing, because otherwise all those little ladies hanging around the electronics section looking to get knocked up before their boobies come in would be even easier...if that's possible. Thugs, people stealing things, long lines with only one lane open, employees just wanting to kill everyone in the store, managers nowhere to be seen, etc, etc, etc. All complete by the guy walking around the parking lot asking for "any change you can spare" because he "needs to take the DART to West End Station." ...you know, the typical Dallas storyline for a homeless person. As far as product selection, they have everything you want. It may not be in the right place with the right price, or even have all the parts! And it will take you hours among hours in a crazy wild goose chase to find it. And even then, you probably won't find it! But, you get what you pay for. Have fun with that. Service? No... just no. That's what happened with my side kick she needed a few things so off we went to Super WalMart. Now I'll be the first to admit I despise WalMart, it's not a happy place for me but being a friend I went, plus I thought it would make for good people watching. My thoughts on this Super WalMart: awful carts, none of them wanted to wheel straight and they made awful noises, the store is completely unorganized and a bit dirty, the patrons were all slow as F@&K and had no clue how to get out of the way for someone and the customer service was neither friendly nor helpful. Plus to boot there were some crazy a$$ drivers in the parking lot. Wow! I never thought I would be the one defending Wal-Mart, but here goes. I am a loyal Target customer usually, for all those household items that rack up so that you never manage to leave Target spending under $100 - you know what I mean... supersize my TP, 20 boxes of Kleenex, no problem, yes indeed I DO need a double bottle of Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner... they get me everytime. I HATE Wal-Mart... usually. They are usually dirty, tight aisles, stuff all in the wrong places, not enough checkers... hate, hate, hate them. But I awoke early Sunday morning and needed a few items to repair some cabinets and such before finishing unpacking... so decided to check out the 24 hour Wal-Mart closest to Kessler Park. I ended up going in around 0730, which may explain the difference in experience. The store is huge... too huge really, so I just started asking where stuff was, and everyone was uber friendly and helpful. The entire housewares department appears to be manned by 30-40-something year old Hispanic women, and all were ready to direct me where I needed to go, even walking me to an aisle in some cases. Shelf liner - check, nails - check, new mop - check, light bulbs - check.... there were only a handful of other customers in the store, and all were pretty serious shoppers early on a Sunday morning. This is a fairly new store. The aisles are large and spacious. The store was very clean. Lots of staff around in the aisles straightening and price checking so plenty of available help. Several express lanes open so I could walk right through without the usual dreaded Wal-Mart lane wait. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. Given the scary experiences others have had, it won't be my late night go-to emergency store, but definitely not as bad as I had expected, so will use them again if the early morning need arises. For once, I am glad I didn't read the Yelp page before going as getting a head start on the day definitely made my weekend from hell (moving days) a little easier. The first thing my girlfriend did was turn my head away from looking at my car and told me not to get mad because she knew I would get infuriated. What the eff. What the eff are those cart wranglers doing? Their lazy asses are purposely leaving those carts in the lot, so people's cars get messed up OR.... the people that frequent this Walmart have no courtesy of simply walking back the carts to the cart stalls. So let's just get that out of the way. People have attitudes here, it's like a prerequisite to work in a Walmart. You have to hate anyone and everyone. Including yourself. The auto center is very unorganized and has poor communication. Because they were "short staffed" they couldn't replace tires. Prior to arrival, I called the auto department and I told them what I needed and NO ONE mentioned that they can't change tires on this specific day. They have no system in place. People are just standing around but claim they are short staffed. I do not recommend them center to no one! Poor customer service! read more

02/27/2017 Update from a previous review. Well nothing has changed here. My elderly mother wanted to go here for some items. I tried to talk her out of it and go somewhere else but she insisted. We got in and got what we needed and got in the express line. There was only one person ahead of us so I thought this would be quick. Silly me, I don't know where I got such an idea. The woman in front of us would only hand the cashier one item at a time and then check the total. Her bill ended up being around 20 dollars and she hands him a new 100 dollar bill. Then as I start putting my items on the counter the cashier just walks away. No explanation or anything. Another cashier walks up and starts checking us out when a third cashier comes up asking what she was doing. They get into an argument and the one checking us out says she will just leave if they don't want her checking people out. I finally get checked out and get everything loaded and then it takes 15 minutes to try and work our way out of the parking lot. I really cannot understand how this place is still in business. If not for my parents that insist going here I would never spend another dollar here. read more

So... I needed a new car battery and life experience has told me that Walmarts tend to have inexpensive batteries- and they install them for you. Just what I was looking for. Showed up, found the Tire and Battery center, stood in line. Kept standing in line. Stood in line some more. There were about 6 of us standing in line at a counter with nobody working it. I waited for 30 mins before finally giving up and leaving. In that time, I did see 2 employees who looked at me- but were too busy on cell phones to help. Not worth it. Ever. Autozone= Walked in, was helped, only spent about $25 more than I would have spent at Walmart. Worth every penny of that for my time and sanity. read more

There are never enough checkers in the evening. However, there are plenty of checkers during the day. I don't understand how they create their checker schedule. Most places staff more checkers during the busiest times of day. Like the evenings when everyone is off work & the kids are out of school.
