I came in today looking for a graduation card and gift, and they helped me research options and think of ideas. Lots of ladies clothes -- some bohemian options, sundresses, and frilly pieces. Adorable baby clothes and toys. Unique and inclusive children's books. Funky handcrafted jewelry and home decor pieces. Really lovely and cutesy stationery & cards. Delicious candles. We bought the one they had lit in the store at the time and we love it. Now it's the signature scent of our home office! 100% soy, clean burning, and in the prettiest glass holder. I also purchased a faded black jumpsuit that's super comfortable and cute, and perfect for pretty much any season. The owner, Kristen, was there working the register at the time of our visit. She was so kind and made great suggestions. Can't wait to come back and buy some gifts for my mom and friends. Looks like they have new holiday candles and decor coming out!

I always try to shop small businesses, but I don't normally come across ones that will make exceptions to their no return policy. Kudos to this business! The item was beautiful and hand-beaded so the quality this store offers was never an issue. I still have an issue with being followed around and being watched like a hawk the entire time I was there. I hope they talk to their employees about how uncomfortable this makes the customers as I would like to come back here if I was back in town.

I bought a cape and some shirts and when I got home and tried the items on the chemicals from the factory they were made in caused an allergic reaction (nose running, watery eyes, throat closing up) and my mom had the same reaction as well. The cape did not have a tag that states the materials of the fabric or the country where it was made. It's as if they removed it. When I went to return the items the staff got really worked up and emotional about it and they sent a manager to talk to me and I think she was just told to tell me she wasn't going to refund my items no matter what. (I had receipts, all price tags were attached, and it was within a week of purchase.) I told her I had a reaction to the clothes and she said she wasn't going to question if my reaction was real or not but no one has ever had any problems with their clothes before. Then she asked me "What's the REAL reason you want to return these items???" I said, "They made me sick?!?!" That seems like a reasonable reason to return something. I also told her that if they don't allow returns they should tell people before they buy things. She said I would have known if I would have reviewed the bottom of the receipt. I asked her how seeing the policy on the receipt would have helped me know not to buy the item since you don't get a receipt until after you buy the item. How would that change anything? She goes, "Well, it wouldn't. It' wouldn't matter because you would have already bought it and all sales are final." I asked, "If I asked for a return immediately after being given the receipt and seeing the fine print on the bottom would I have been able to get a refund?" She said no and realized what she was saying did not make any sense. Then said they aren't required to have the policy posted anywhere in the store. I informed her that they absolutely are. By law. Then she said other shops around here don't allow returns and don't have signs posted. I said, "Well that is illegal." She said she didn't know anything about that and wasn't going to look into it. Eventually they agreed to give me store credit and they said the owner would call me and let me know if they decided to refund my money or not but it's been several weeks and I haven't gotten a call. No surprise there. After this experience I never want to buy anything from this store or their other stores (Houss on Bishop and Home on Bishop). **UPDATE** a few days ago I saw the EXACT same cape I purchased from their store for $170 (the item that did not have a factory tag) on amazon for $45. BEWARE OF THIS STORE!!!

We decided to poke around in Oak Cliff & Bishop Arts District, and I thought it was strange that no one was walking around... you know, on the sidewalk? .... anywhere. But I guess that's just an Austin thing? Anyway. We wandered in & out of shops & galleries & I am NOT a shopper & I was about to just say, "let's go back to the car so we can go back to the hotel so I can be bored in the hotel room" when I saw a CUTE messenger bag in the window. I walked inside, found a dress (super cute), a scarf (I had no idea I was so into scarves, my goodness!), some cigars (I don't even know if I can smoke them but it seems so fun right now), a few shirts, and .... S#@^. They're out of the messenger bags. Except the one on the display. I'm gonna be that person. There, I did it. The GREATEST thing about this shop is that it's in Dallas. Let me explain: all the things I found here can be found at any number of shops in the Triangle, on South Congress, 2nd Street, all over Austin in hip little boutiques. But most people in Dallas don't dress like most people in Austin. So my awesome messenger bag was only $11. The dress was $19. You get the idea. I'm not saying I will EVER drive to Dallas just to go shopping... but if I'm there again any time soon (I will be, it's basketball season!), I'm going to head back to Boomer's.

We all booked online and were able to pick which lamp we wanted to design. I chose the swan lamp. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and once checked in we got situated at a table with a few other guests. I am in love with the space. First off, it's in a business area, and on a Sunday, there was no one else around. My GPS had difficulty finding the exact spot but once I had the suite number it was easy to find. When we walked in you could see how bright and airy this space is. Before the start of class, we had time to chit chat and walk around to get ideas for our lamps. Our teacher (I think her name was Oun?) was super sweet and walked us through each step. The first step is laying out your design. We were served Turkish coffee and a Turkish treat, (for an extra charge) during this step. During the step where we glue on the tiles we were served the pomegranate tea that came with the price of the class. At the end of our 2+ hours we were given instructions on how to make the cement to seal all the mosaic tiles in and once I do that, I will post photos of my finished product. We all had a blast and would 100000% recommend coming here to get artsy.
