Hello fellow Yelpers and Yelpettes. The location of T& H is nice. Seems to be the same size as the old location. I usually go here for gifts. Like Dena F. said you can find all price ranges. They have funky gifts, jewelry, coffee table books, etcetera. They also have a decorating service as well. The staff are usually friendly but my last visit it was lukewarm at best. They weren't attentive until I left saying goodbye to me. Will I go back perhaps. As always, your mileage may vary. read more

I was so excited to come here, heard amazing things, the beautiful unique merchandise. I even received a beautiful bracelets from this very store from our realtor to welcome us to east Dallas. So today 12/14/22 at 2:45pm, I was so disappointed. No one said hello to me, not one single freaking person. Not the woman that was offering champagne to everyone that came through the front door, I was never offered. Or the woman next to the jewelry on the right side of the store, she never even acknowledged that I was standing next to her. Or the woman that came from the back door while I looked at the men's gifts. I will say that I had the pleasure of listening to the obnoxious saleswoman at the counter be badgered over ribbon by an even more obnoxious customer. I am so glad I didn't spend a single penny at the place. read more

I went into the store to look for a gift for my mother-in-law, who loves stores like this. The parking situation is terrible - it's right off of a busy street, so be careful when parking. Once I got inside, I wasn't greeted, or assisted, but instead I was followed around by one of the employees, and stared at by other employees. For the record - I am a white, Jewish woman, and I wear a yarmulke. I felt very uncomfortable - I'd never been profiled by someone in my life. I quickly purchased a gift and left as soon as I could. I personally will not be going back to the store - I don't feel welcome in the store. Price range-wise, yes, you can find a variety of items at different price points, but in general it skews to be very costly - they had an item that was $1,000. My mother-in-law loved the candle I purchased for her, for the record! :) Another thing - the store feels cluttered, and likely does not meet ADA standards. I think the store would feel more inviting if they got rid of some of the trinket-y items, had a few less displays, and had some training on how to be welcoming to people who are not Christian, white, and upper class. read more

New location, same fantastic stuff! One--champagne while shopping is very effective with me. I will buy something. Two--all price ranges. If you want to spend $15, they have it. If you want to spend $1500, they have it. Three--what the hell do you want, look at one and two. So, I usually end up with, jewelry, clothes, lotion, candles, funny books, stuffed animals, home decor, gifts.... You get the idea. Go be fancy. read more

Almost always I come across several really cool items that are just more expensive than I want to spend on a gift, and often I come out with some small find that I can't live without. T & H is one of the prettiest stores I have ever been in! They have so many different items from tiny scented candles that make great gifts to furniture and the most exquisite and unique chandeliers! But one of my very favorite things that I never leave the boutique without, are the volleyball-size white Hydrangeas! They are so beautiful, and only $3 each! Talk about a perfect gift for any occasion, and they last at least two weeks, which is incredible! Customer service is excellent...you are greeted by a sincerely friendly voice the moment you enter, and as you shop, you're offered champagne! Cute shop. Cute items. Come here if that's all you care about. But if you also care about good customer service to everyone then this isn't the place you want to check out. I had no intentions on leaving my house that day but did to accompany my daughter who's pregnant and was craving good breakfast. I was rocking the messy ponytail, baggy yoga pants and chucks. We went to the Heights which was fabulous and everyone there gave us the "Lakewood feel good" feeling. That cool, down to earth, no matter who you are or what you look like. Well that's how it was when my daughter attended Lakewood Elementary 15 years ago. I recently moved back and maybe it's changed. I really hope not though. However if Talulah Belle is any indication of what Lakewood has become then we're in trouble. After breakfast I moseyed into the store to kill 30 minutes and was immediately asked if I needed help. I didn't but I thought "Great how nice they're on top it". After the 4th time of being asked and kindly declining the help I wondered what was really going on. Then I noticed that everyone else who walked in were all asked if they wanted Champagne and chocolate. One couple was even asked twice and encouraged to take the free offering. I walked near the champagne and chocolate table and still wasn't asked to take part. But instead was stared at by the 5 women working there as though I did something wrong. The feeling was horrible so I mentioned it to the 2 ladies at the register. The blonde pregnant lady said "oh really, hmm, I'm sorry" while the brunette promptly said "oh, well I'm sorry here ya go" and handed me a glass of champagne. The blonde pregnant one was the one who asked me how I was doing at least 3 of the 5 times. Maybe it's just her with the issue, but in business the attitude of the staff is a direct reflection of the leadership in that organization. The snobby, elitist attitude of the staff is why Talulah Belle gets 1 star. My only regret... I bought a baby book for my daughter when I shouldn't have purchased anything from that place! But trust me I'll never go back. read more

Cutest boutique! They are pricey but I have found the most unique gifts that are adored here! From the jewelry to the gorgeous abstract paintings, to the beautiful lingerie, they have something for everyone. The only thing I'm not a fan of is that they do not give refunds. I was disappointed by my experience at Talulah & Hess. I purchased an item on April 12th shortly before 7PM. Before buying the item, I specifically asked the employee if the item was returnable. She said, "If you return it within the next couple of days". She failed to mention that returns would be only for store credit. I recall no sign explaining this policy. Upon attempting to return the item later in April, I was informed that I could not get a refund on my credit card. It was printed on my receipt as such, but I didn't get a receipt until after I had committed to making the purchase based on misleading information from the employee. read more

I can't count the number of times I've shopped here, either with my daughter (for her friends) or for her. This is among the best gift stores in Dallas, and the new location is beautiful. The selection is wonderful, and the ladies working here are very helpful. Champagne and chocolates are frequently offered to shoppers, which is a nice touch. read more

CUUUUUUTE! That's the first thing I thought when I went in this store. They have such great stuff! Things I saw -candles that smell dreamy -fancy collars and treats for your dog or cat -Hanky Panky thongs in all colors and some even had rhinestone embellishment. They said they are the "most comfortable thongs ever". Not sure about that though because they were kind of expensive ($17) and I couldn't force myself to justify buying some. IF I ever do and they are the most comfortable I'll be sure to tell you about it! -the softest PJs ever -small selection of dresses, Tshirts, and other types of shirts -pails with seeds, soil, and whatever else you need to grow a mini herb garden or some flowers. And some of them said they were plants for your pets. I guess they can chew on them or something -those table topic games for when you are drinking with your friends (at least that's when I would use them) and some silly books (Gay Haiku!!) This is an excellent place to find a gift for someone that is hard to buy for and I guarantee it will be unique and well-received!! read more

An attractive shop with nice gift items. I buy a certain brand of perfume there, which I haven't found elsewhere. So I go back from time to time. My only complaint with the store is the tendency for the staff to be condescending and snobby. Even when I am dropping upwards of $100 during a visit. I once asked a sales clerk there for a bottle of 'Le Petit', the name of a perfume I buy there. She very pointedly 'corrected' my pronunciation of the name! Except she was wrong. I lived in France and studied the language for years. I thought it was rude of her to make a paying (and nice!) Customer feel stupid. Especially when she didn't really know the correct pronunciation! Ha! I guess I will put up with this kind of idiocy in order to buy my perfume there. read more

I used to enjoy going to this shop, but as of lately, I can't say they same. Talulah & Hess will no longer receive my business. The staff there are rude, and follow you around as if you are going to walk out of the store with something. It appears they are very biased based on your looks, and are snobby. This may be something small, but when you know you are not greeted as you walk in and are not offered complimentary champagne and chocolate while others are, that is biased. It's the little things that make a difference, so sadly, they will not get my business again. read more

I absolutely adore this little shop right in the heart of Lakewood! Perfect place to stop in and pick up a hostess or baby shower gift. My only issue with this store is that I struggle to leave without buying something for myself! The black pepper candle that is located near the front entrance is my favorite. Talulah Belle & Hess is an adorable shop for unique gift items, things for home and even if I need to treat myself! They have a wonderful collection of candles in a variety of different lines. Every time I drop by they always have something new! If you need pillows or lamps they always have the very best, including custom lines. read more

Great place to buy hostess gifts and other small thank-you's. I will be saving myself trips to the mall for candles. And they carry PJ Salvage and Hanky Panky, LOVE both of these! I only gave 4 stars because they could be a little friendlier when running a small business, no one said as much as a hello when I walked in and was the only person there. But nonetheless, a great local shop. read more
