I like having Michael's around the neighborhood as they're pretty much the only game in town for arts and crafts supplies. I make a lot of beaded bracelets throughout the year and it seems like every time I look for 4mm glass seed beads in a variety of colors, they're sold out. Between the Mets and Knicks, I would think they could keep a decent supply of blue, orange and white beads on hand throughout the baseball and basketball seasons. We are in the NY market with plenty of fans here. Their prices are also on the high side and there's never anyone around to help. I went through the entire store talking to anyone ... even did self check out. I think there's some room for improvement here. I managed to buy some blue and white beads from their hanging necklace section and a small little vial of orange seed beads to get me through making these Knicks playoff and finals bracelets. I gave no stars because I went to the Michael's on Rt 9 in Manalapan,NJ and was so disappointed. The store was so dirty there was boxes in the aisles. I went for yarn and was so disappointed that I left without yarn and went to Hobby Lobby. Michaels is an art and crafts store where you can find most things you need for your craft project. That's if you can find them. Most of the time I can if I walk up and down the isles. I come to this Michaels to look for several items for a craft. Not being familiar with this location, I did have a hard time finding my items and looking for someone to assist. One of the workers who came to my aid, not only help me locate the item but noted it was not the one on sale. After checking his scanner to find, that they had a new shipment come in. He then took a ladder to open all the boxes found all the way up on the highest shelves. Thank you so much and it was deeply appreciated. read more

I love Michaels! They sell so much here, in such great variety! They sell so many things for the holidays, and they have so much variety for crafters young and old to find something for them! I would definitely say if you're buying paper, or clothing, that's where you really get the most variety! It seems everything here is always under $10, which I guess means you're really saving a lot. I used to shop here a lot but lately I've been very disappointed. They employees are never helpful and act like they loathe being there. The stock is very limited compared to other Michael's that I have been to. The final straw was when I put an order in to pick up. I placed the order for 11 items that were all in stock when I placed the order. They didn't put the actual order together until hours later. When it was picked up there were only 2 items that I ordered. By the time I was home I saw multiple emails saying they canceled my other items. They should have put the order together right after I placed it rather than waiting hours. From now on, I'll be shopping at Hobby Lobby. read more

You can definitely find the items you are looking for here. Finding help can be 50/50 at times. Prices are decent, not the cheapest but ok. Look for the coupons in the local papers. usually 40% off of NON SALE items. Plenty of parking! My only real gripe is that it seems like every time I'm here, they have rearranged the aisles so I have to hunt for things! read more

Nice store right on route 9 north side. Compared to other craft stores I think this one is up there. They are very organized, clean, and offer a lot from flowers to baking items. There is an AC Moore across the highway however I feel like I never can find things there as easy as I can at this Michael's. Also, if you download the SnipSnap app they usually always have coupons to use and if you're a teacher you can use that discount on top of coupons! read more

I have now used them 2 different times. The first was for my ketubah which is as you can imagine really important to me. I went in both times not really knowing how I wanted the items framed or matted. Both of the ladies I worked with were extremely patient and had wonderful suggestions. I absolutely LOVE both items I got framed. The customer service was great. My wife is always taking me to this store. I will admit if you are in need of anything crafty this place has got to be the best place to stop in and it's right off Route 9. I also admit I have to appreciate the amount of things they have going on throughout the weeks as far as activities for kids. Which is not a bad deal since they let you come in for a small price and mess the place up with kids crafts and you don't have the hassle at your house! My biggest knock on this place is that it actually because of what they sell I guess can't be neat and clean. Just seems like the place always has stuff all over. The biggest plus of this place is the amount of coupons and insane deals my wife always gets from this place. There is no shortage of huge discounts and a lot of times the stores entire stock in on sale. Not bad if you're into this stuff.
