Back in the day when Jessie was still in SoCal, I was looking for someone who could do my hair AND do my makeup for some family photos. I also needed them to come to my house. Back then, mobile beauty wasn't really a thing so I did what any desperate mom would do - I turned to a mommy group and asked all these women who they would recommend. Jessie's name was brought up so much and she was tagged so often in my post, I started to wonder : 1. Are her ears ringing because so many people are talking about and gushing about her work? 2. Gattdamn. I should do mobile beauty. But I don't because I don't know how to curl my hair or my lashes. That's why I'm looking to a mommy group for help. LOL I'm really scared of trying new hair stylists because I've had new people completely butcher my hair (one person literally chopped off 2 feet of my hair before I realized what happened. The same person decided I needed an "edgier" look and proceeded to cut my bangs into what I would describe as a premature ventricular contraction tracing on an EKG). I didn't know what to expect from Jessie but I figured a couple hundred moms can't be all wrong. And they were right. Jessie immediately put me at ease and took such great care of my hair. She explained what she was doing and gave me great tips on how I could make my style last even when I didn't have time to dry my hair. She showed me various ways to wear my cut and basically gave me a crash course on what Olaplex is, why it's an important step in coloring hair and how it works. If you're also looking to book Jessie for makeup, lemme just say that her work photographs very, Very, VERY well. Jessie knows her way not just around the makeup bag but she knows how to give you a look that will shine through in photos in accordance to the kind of look you're going for. As a blonde, it can be especially difficult communicating in the same language as your stylist regarding tone and color (it's always smart to bring photo reference!), but Lauren asked all the right questions, made sure she was clear in her understanding of what I wanted, and even gave me an estimated price before beginning.
