This craft store usually has great deals on holiday wrapping paper (not the paper thin type) or at least equivalent in price to Walmart and Walgreens. The wife is infatuated with these craft hobby shops and when we go its hard to get her to leave. As I entered, the strong scent of cinnamon and Christmas Trees smacked me in the face. The friendly clerk informed me that Black Friday deals are gone but still browsed for the wrapping paper deals at the center of the store. Found several boxes with the large rolls at $6.99 but no Chanukah paper here, only basic designs or Christmas decor. read more

This was probably the worst customer service experience I've had at a Michael's. The cashier, Lucy, wasn't openly rude, but she was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. The whole interaction felt uncomfortable and made the transaction unnecessarily unpleasant. I also noticed another customer ask about an item and was just told it wasn't in the store with no effort to assist further. It would make a big difference if staff were a bit more helpful and welcoming. read more

I've gone to multiple different Michael's and this one is pretty standard. It's big, clean, friendly staff, with clean bathrooms in the back corner. They always have a good seasonal display selection and are changing out they have, and the prices are pretty good for what you get. It's in the Oakwood Plaza, with lots of free parking in the lot in front. read more

Stopped in for random costumes accessories left what a bunch of stuff for Halloween's to come! They are having a 60% off sale and the holiday isn't even over. That being said there were also some fall items on sale. I racked up on a few and used them to decorate my home in fall fabulous fashion. Hey it's not to late, right? And yes I did get those extra costume must haves one of which was fabric for a cloth waistband/belt. This was the only scary part about my trip. I was lucky to find fabric because the pickings were supa slim. I don't think this is a place for people who are really into sewing. However they had yarn for days and lots of items for crafts. A relaxed casual environment and friendly service were provided. On average their prices are regular or even a bit higher than other craft stores or departments. But, the deals are really good when they have them. read more

The fall stuff is coming in! Michael's used to be right down the street from me, but that location ended up closing. Needed a specific item and it listed this Michael's as the only one with stock at the store. Score! Found the sour patch harvest that I've had no luck finding anywhere. Came in and couldn't find it so off I went to ask the cashier. She was so helpful in directing me to the one box of stock that they had. While checking my purchase out, she commented that she had never seen this flavor of sour patch before! Well, yeah, neither had I, and now I've finally been able to find them out of all the places I've been looking for them. Once more fall stuff starts coming out, I'll definitely have to come back to get craft stuff so I can redecorate our common board! read more

My only daughter is grown and married having her own daughter 3/4. I have created four baby books ready for her arrival to add her pics to the books. I haven't been to Michaels since losing my husband almost 4 years ago. It was a very nice experience. I'm so grateful for the young lady who assisted me, I am upset I can't remember her name. Michaels my favorite place for those crafty craft beads and canvas. I love all the seasonal things to buy and make as well. Great place to buy silk flower because their selection is big and at times it's marked off 50 percent. I always look on line for discounts too, so when you go to the store ask about the discounts and check your app. Parking at Michaels is a snap. read more

We tried going to the custom framing department at the Michaels location in Aventura and they were closed a couple of times we tried to go, so we decided going to the nearby Michaels location in Hollywood and tried the framing department there. This Michaels is located in Hollywood, just off I-95 in the large Oakwood shopping center off Stirling Road with plenty of free parking in front of the location. Michaels is located near the Home Depot in the shopping center. When we arrived, we noticed how much bigger this location is versus the Aventura location, and not many customers were in the store. We went to the framing counter and had one-on-one attention with very personalized service. We were able to find the perfect framing option, and we didn't feel like we were rushed into our decision at any point in the conversation with the associate. We really loved the experience in this location and look forward to returning the next time we need to go to Michaels! read more

I have been into Michaels many times, and they always seem to have what I need. And often something I didn't plan on buying. I have come for costume ideas. I have stopped in for holiday stuff. And I have drove over to Michaels to get paints for my daughter and I. They have a decent selection of paints and plenty of surfaces to work with to buy as well. This Michaels is great to just wander the isles and see what you could snap up does project. I have been inspired by some random stuff on a shelf more than once. From a jewelry hand to odd shaped frames. I should add they have helpful people at this location too. That's not true probably at all locations, but I have been stuck and had to ask for help and the best of people stepped up to guide me to the right isle. Definitely if I need to pickup something for an arts & crafts type thing, this is one of my top spots to drive to. read more

This is my go to place for picture frames and photo albums. The selection is amazing I can't imagine a better place to go. I have even come here for custom frames for prints that I have bought. My most recent trip here I chose several different picture frames for myself and family as presents. There is usually always a sale but I find that their pricing is reasonable for what you get. The location would get an extra star if they actually had people work here. However from the time you enter the store walk to the back right corner where the frames are and go to the front register there is no one just the lonely cashier. Their coupon process changed awhile ago and I gave them my phone number and email address however everything I purchased did not qualify for any additional discounts. Two weeks ago, my daughter purchased a package of clay for a model project for school. When she tried to mold the clay Friday afternoon, it started to crumble into tiny pieces. Obviously, the clay was no good. The next day I went to Michael's with the crumbled clay in its package and the original receipt. I was skeptical that I would not get back a refund because the package was opened and the clay had been used, but when I explained the situation to Katie, a Michael's associate, she kindly told me that I was able to get a refund. I had some prints framed here. I've never had anything framed before and knew it would be expensive so I came during one of the 70% off frame sales (that's the best I've seen at Michaels). It still really hurt when they rang me up. The frames came out well though and the guy working there was very friendly. It took over 2 weeks to get them back which felt a little long. My main complaints about this store is that it is impossible to find someone to help you. In order to ask a simple question about where to find an item I had to go to a section that had products locked up for security reasons and buzz someone for help. Also it claims to be a fabric store, but they don't sell large amounts of fabric or much variety. Not sure what I could use their selection of fabric for. The pieces didn't seem large enough for anything useful. Maybe doll clothes? read more

This was the worst experience I think I've ever had shopping. I ordered something on line and picked it up in the store. Thirty minutes later I found something better for less next door. When I tried to return the item, I realized they never gave me a paper receipt. The first cashier had no idea how to refund PayPal and rolled her eyes and hit herself in the forehead to show her frustration with my request. Then she called Ashley (manager) to assist and took the next customer. Ashley was worse than cashier number 1. She was very rude. She couldn't figure out the refund and told me I had to go through PayPal. When I disagreed, she invited me to leave and never come back. No problem. I left with my vase and no refund. There also have many crafts that are easy for children of all ages to complete. The projects are great for bonding with little ones and also is great for their intellectual development. Every holiday they have specialty items such as gingerbread houses, haunted houses for Halloween, bunnies and felt for Easter, etc. There are also everyday projects with all different types of materials and colors. I ordered online October 2 and received an e-mail my order was ready for curbside pickup today. I went to pick up my order and called the 954 number so they can bring my item out to me but instead the person (Frances) was standing outside the store and refused to come to me. I had to drive up to her in front of the store and ask we she refused to bring me my order. I was told I was suppose to meet her at the front . I asked her what's the point of the curbside Parking . I explained to her this is a fire lane parking , I shouldn't be parking here. Well she proceeded to give me my order, but I notice I was missing an item. She told me I would now have to come into the store and she would help me. I parked my car and when I entered she was no where to be found . I was looking all over for her and finally saw her at the checkout looking through drawers for receipts. I walked up to her and told her she had me looking all over for her, her response , was did you find your item. I responded, I don't know where to find it. I told her she was being very rude to me for no reason at all. The situation gets worse , now she has to check me out and tells me the item price online and in the store is different , I would have to pay the difference, she begins to speak to me very slowly and talking to me like a 5 year old child . Explaining the amount I would have to pay in a condescending manner , she was actually counting out loud to me , as if I couldn't count. I have never felt so disrespected. Frances was absolutely rude from the parking lot and throughout my checkout process. Frances is the perfect example of terrible customer service. Michael's is such a joke when it comes to policy, one second you can use however many coupons per item or break up transactions, the next you can only use one competitor coupon and one store coupon per transaction, the next you can only use *one* coupon *per day*. Do they really think I have time to come back every day to use a coupon because let's be real, that stuff adds up quick and many of us aren't buying without a coupon, so make up your minds about what your *actual* policy is please- the conflicting policies are extremely annoying. Jo Ann is so much better about coupon policy than Michael's so I have zero incentive to shop here. I'll be shopping at Jo Ann or online for my crafting/sewing needs from now on. read more
