If you're ever reading a 5 star review from me, just know that it has come from Consistency. Yes,…read morewith a capital C!!! This Hobby Lobby in particular embodies what great customer service means in my opinion. It is actually nice that a few seasoned employees remember me and my daughter when we come in on the weekends! I have had multiple encounters with the professional framer and I'm afraid I cannot remember her name, but she is the sweetest and always ensured my mirrors are framed to perfection; even if it takes longer than expected. Truth be told, I am never in a rush because I don't live in Lawrence anymore and I wouldn't say I am a heavy weight, but definitely not light weight thrifter so I find mirrors for almost nothing and come here to get them framed! Big emphasis on this location, because I have been to a few in Johnson county and they do not "frame mirrors"...which is good to know because if you're like me and you have an eye for bringing things to life this is the only Hobby Lobby you need to come to for all your crafty needs.

To my surprise this hobby lobby has been around for at least three years since I've lived in the…read moreLawrence area, so I am really amazed that no one has done a review on the store but I guess hobby lobby hasn't had a very good name on the side of political correctness in recent years so maybe that has a lot to do with it. Therefore I will not be addressing any political issues I will only address what I experienced after all that is what this is about letting people know the service and quality of the stores. This hobby lobby is located right off the exit of K-10 Highway into Lawrence Kansas. The store is located between Hollywood theaters and five below and home goods. It's well lit, will seen and very recognizable. I do wish the parking lot could be extended a little more. The fact that you share the parking lot with five below and home goods sometimes it's very hard to find a parking space if you're going to Hobby lobby. The inside of the store looks the same as any other hobby lobby that you may have attended very neat, very clean and shelves are fully stocked at all times however being fully stocked doesn't mean being stocked with what you came in looking for and this was the problem I met today. For months, I have been in search of liquid potpourri and essential oils. However I'm not trying to buy them in small teeny bottles I want them in big bottles so that they last longer. Everywhere I've gone I keep running into no one having The liquid potpourri and the only essential oils I can find are the little bottles. I have looked to Amazon as my last resort and it looks as though I will have to online my time due to the fact that this hobby lobby don't have what I need. A lot of brick and mortar stores often wonder why online shopping has become the big thing well it mainly is because when we shop online we get what we want. Simply put it used to be that way with brick and mortar but over the years things have changed. We can blame Covid, we can blame China but at the end of the day it is the store's responsibility to have what the customer wants and when you don't have it, you lose the customer. so as I have done in the past Amazon will be my store for home Decor from here on out but if you are a brick and mortar lover and you just have to go that route, this location you may be able to have what you're looking for, I just wasn't so in my case.

Well, actually it is, because it's full of cool stuff. Think gift shop + art shop + boutique curio, and maybe that *starts* to describe the space. There are plenty of keepsakes, art supplies, and gift ideas that will run your tab up very quickly. It's all good stuff, mind you, but it's almost like they should have an "I'll take one of everything package". The front of the store is mostly boutique-ish and has a small up and downstairs. You can find gifts for just about anyone, and this is the kind of place where you can stuff stockings or get something unique for that special someone. If you need ideas, then ask one of the staff who are always willing to help. If you need specifics in the art department, then there is a station in the back to help you with various items such as paper types or other supplies. The unique nature of some of the items leads to perhaps some higher prices, but the value is spot on. You're finding gifts, not clipping coupons, so enjoy and shop a little. For everything that you think might be marked a little high, just remind yourself that you probably aren't going to find that in very many other places. And that's the fun of shopping: just browsing when you have the time and maybe the resources, looking at things that you didn't know you were going to find, and in this case, helping a great small business thrive.

I like looking at the collections, but I manage to stay away from them. If you want Jayhawk of any kind: material, cross stitch patterns, anything, they have it. But, other than that, they are quite small. The quilt shop area is kind of cool, again, great for people who do quilting, and live in Lawrence. Jayhawk fabric is hard to find elsewhere. I have alot of it in my stash, thanks to this store. As for other cross stitch items, kind of basic supplies I can get in Missouri. But, when I participate in the cross stitch shop hop,I always pick up a Lawrence, KU or Jayhawk pattern or fabric of some kind. It sits on Mass. Street, up the street from the Yarn Barn. There is parking on the street, it is metered. There is plenty of stores to visit while on Mass. Street. So, plan accordingly.

It was just a cookie jar, but it made the coolest growl while its eyes flashed in fury. The best way to describe the shop? Read my take on Bittersweet Hollow over in Parkville. We're basically talking twins here except for the needlework section in the back of shop here at Stitch On. Crafted collectibles include Department 56 and Byer's Choice. You'll also find a large selection of Vera Bradley purses and bags to throw your crap in. For the decorator, its a paradise of holiday items to "festivus" your home. (C'mon you Seinfeld freaks!) I'd say the shop's greatest asset was the service. Her involvement and conversation over frankensteins and draculas had me grinning from ear to ear.

Not sure what happened to Hancock but I hope Jo-Ann intends to stick around for awhile. I have been to the Lawrence store twice. Both times I've been looking for specific items. The first time they didn't have or stock the items I needed but I still had an enjoyable shopping experience. During my second visit, they had the item I wanted and then some. This store is, oddly, arranged much like Hancock Fabric was arranged. The fabric notions are on the left side of the store and in the back of the store. There are rows of craft items displayed very similarly to the former Hancock displays. So it was very easy to navigate the store and find what I needed. Everything is nicely arranged and there were many shelves of sale items which I always appreciate! The lighting on some of the shelving is bright and cheery. I was in the bead section and the items were really illuminated. The clerks were very friendly and personable. I had a coupon on my cell phone but I had left my phone at home. The cashier gave me the discount anyway. I appreciated her help. The clerk on other visit was equally as friendly and helpful. She gave me coupons to use, as well. We talked about her sewing projects and she was very pleasant. Great store, friendly service, reasonable prices. I know I'll be back! I am glad to see them in Lawrence.

I am a quirky creative crafty type of female and I usually like to make my own things and what's…read morereally funny about it is that I don't buy the usual things. I usually piece things together to create something new so Joann's has become the place that I go for my creative crafty items. First off I don't like the location of this place because if you don't live in the area you'll never see it from the main road, however I can easily overcome that because when you walk inside the store is clean. the shelves are always fully stocked and what I love most about them is that they always have a sale on some thing. I have never gone in there and paid full price for anything. I catch a sale every time I shop there. The biggest complaint that I do have with them, is the staff is never at the front of the store to greet customers. If a thief wanted to steal something they could easily do it and go right outside the door as easily as they came in because there's no one there to watch. Now maybe because the store has security cameras the staff have convinced themselves that it doesn't matter if their presence be at the front of the store, But for customers it raises concern to see that you have to actually be standing at the registers ready to check out before someone comes to the front of the store. That is a very scary way to run your business. Other than that concern, I love shopping there. I love being able to find unique and creative patterns and fabrics and items that I can put together to create something entirely my own.
