Amazing customer service! I just moved to the area from the east Bay Area and the difference in service is a wow factor. I was greeted multiple times, when I needed to ask a question about navigating my new local Michael's I found an employee in less than a minute, who told me the isle to go to and that an employee would be waiting for me when I get there. Sure enough there was an employee there in the next isle finishing up another customer and looking for me. She helped me find the kids crafts I was looking for and talked about the products, they were plastic beads for kids- AND she still made me feel important. Even chatted for a sec about my kids and then was on to the next. I'm so shocked at how considerate people are here. I've never had this service at any box style retailer. This store is fun. I have to go because my wife is into crafts and stuff. Even though I don't bead, I usually find something to keep me busy. The staff are very helpful and it seems they take the job because they themselves are into crafts and stuff. Such a huge disappointment for a Michaels. I believe I asked the manager where to find one item and rather than showing me where it was, she just pointed her hand in one direction assuming I know my way around this store. Finally when I'm checking out the girl wearing glasses doesn't say hi, doesn't tell me my total and especially didn't tell me thank you. So rude. I'll definitely never shop this location again. read more

This place is wonderful!! They're always so friendly and well stocked. You'll find everything you need and everything you won't need lol. All sorts of crafty items to buy. Anything you can imagine!! This store has the best customer service i have ever seen.I went into the store looking for gum paste. I was unable to locate it. We asked a salesperson and she immediately came to help us. we also had two other sales reps helping us. One of the employees went above and beyond to help us find that product. They are awesome. Had my daughters birthday part and let's just say the host was not prepared. I basically had to do most of the work and my family members also helped! They were informed it was a large party and yet the girl was cutting one paper at a time for a project during the party! read more

My daughter and i came into michaels on sisk sun. Night , just after 6:30. We knew that they closed at 7 and we were prepared to do some very quick shopping for my daughters school project. When we got there we first encountered a young lady with very long blonde hair who was putting away some items. We asked her for help locating some items and she very pleasantly assisted us, even taking her time to walk with us and show us exactly where the items were and even making some helpful suggestions. At about 15 min. Till 7 , we were approached by a stout dark haired young lady with glasses saying " maam, our store will be closing at 7, please take your purchases to the register." Her tone of voice was very nasty as well. I let her know we are aware of the time and are almost done so theres no need to get angry with us. About 5 min. Later, she came back and said in a very hurried tone " do you guys need any help finding anything??" And i said " no, we are making our way to the register though, can you please stop badgering us?" And she said " well we are closing in 5 min. So we need you to hurry up". I WAS STUNNED!!! I have never felt so unwelcomed or disrespected in a store ever before in my 40 yrs of life. There was another elderly lady there that looked kind of scared and said to me " geez, these girls are really mean and pushy!". Then there was a very angry tall girl with glasses standing by the door letting people out like the door gastapo rushing people out acting upset that we had to make more than one tripto put our bags in the car because the shopping cart would not go outside the door. Bottom line, i wonder how the ceo of michaels would feel about he way these employess were treating their customers?? I spent over $150.00 in this store and deserved to be treated better. When it was all said and done ,by the time i got in my car with my purchases, it was ONLY 7:05!! was it all worth losing a customer for life girls?? Just a warning to others who shop at Michael's on Sisk Road in Modesto. I had bought 2 poster frames. After getting them home and hanging them up, they did not go with my decor, nor did they hang flat against the wall. When I went to return them, I was told they could not take them back because they were not in the "original packaging." The original packaging was shrink wrap!!!! I asked if they would at least give me store credit, but I was again told no. So now I'm out $54 with two frames I don't want. I am a long-time customer of Michael's, but I won't be a future customer. Just remember to save your "original packaging" when you buy something here in case you need to return it! read more

Coupons are deceiving. They have a 50% off one regular priced item and a 20% off your entire purchase. The coupons do not say that they cannot be used together. They just say that you can only use each one once in a single day..... nothing about used together in the same transaction. Made a special trip down there to purchase some items and was told I could not use the coupons together! It does NOT say that on their coupons. I have been to other Michaels stores that do take both coupons together. Get your story straight Modesto Michaels and follow the guidelines on your coupons or re-word the coupons!!!! Wasted time and gas. Not going back....once your off my list.....your not ever going to be back on my list! read more

I recently bought a floral arrangement at Michaels. That is always a difficult task finding the perfect one for your table. The floral designer does a beautiful job. My arrangement was the right price . I received more compliments on that arrangement as apposed to the one I had custom made for my dinning room table that I paid three times the amount. Also the staff are very polite and helpful. read more

I love Michael's! They always have what you are looking for. The staff isn't very helpful and seem to avoid you if they see you coming, but they have great products for all your crafting needs.Their prices are much better than Hobby Lobby also. read more
