We hired Michael to DJ and Emcee our wedding reception on December 3rd, 2022, and we cannot be happier with how it went! Throughout the planning process Michael quickly responded to any of our questions and requests with straightforward answers and suggestions. We incorporated a ton of Michael's ideas into our final planning! We selected most of our music ourselves, but asked Michael to fill in some gaps- such as selecting "soft jazz" to play during dinner- and he did great. Michael has a custom website to make music selections- I will say the website could be a bit clunky to use at times, but it got the job done. On the day of the wedding Michael was a consummate professional, executing the game plan to perfection. One particular success to highlight was a surprise choreographed dance by the groom and wedding party- Michael worked with me to select the music and plan when and how the dance would happen while keeping the whole thing a surprise from the bride! Michael also provided uplighting for our venue and a photobooth rental. There were many limitations to where uplighting could realistically be placed in the venue, but Michael made it work and the lighting really added to the ambiance. And the photobooth was 100% worth the extra budget- the photobooth staff did an excellent job and it was a hit among the guests. Michael was very accommodating in customizing our template for the photobooth, and provided some excellent props! If you are looking for an Emcee/DJ who is easy to work with, provides great suggestions and feedback, and executes your plan on the day without you having to worry or intervene at all- Michael is your guy. read more

My life has a soundtrack to it. Certain songs, when I hear them, take me back to a special time in my life. Maybe it was the first time I heard the song. Maybe it was the first time I realized that I loved someone. The song wasn't important, until that moments and then the event and the song became fused together. I was married in a scenic vineyard. There were flowers and a beautiful lake and up the path there was a tasting room with a cave that opened into face of the hill. I remember the song that played when I opened the double doors to reveal the space filled with candle light and dinner settings. When my fiancé and I picked music we spent months going over the list making sure every song was perfect. We brought eighty of our closest friends together. We wanted the cocktail hour to cultivate social interaction and we wanted the dance music to make it impossible not to want to dance. People will forget many things. They will forget cocktails you provide, they will forget the food you served, but they will never forget the way you make them feel and nothing affects the way that people feel more than music. When we met Michael we discussed our musical taste. We felt a connection right from the start. He knew the music but he also understood the effect the music would have on people. Our song list became a discussion in which he participated because we realized that he was a kindred spirit. Hiring a DJ for your wedding means more than finding someone to run through your playlist. There's an organic relationship between your guests and the person guiding their mood. Michael's love of life is apparent every time he picks up the microphone. Michael DIDN'T SCREW UP THE NAMES!!! We had some difficult names and he NAILED them! Michael Luna was fantastic for our wedding (6.2.16). Great sound system, very VERY thorough in making sure he had to right music to play and making sure he had all the correct pronunciations of names (so important) He listened to us and didn't play any crap chicken dances or Bieber and played some of my wife and my favorite music (house/edm) Michael was super personable and even made changes on the fly when we handed him a CD (an hour before the wedding) to play-Irish step dances for the Irish family! Michael was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding! From start to finish, he was an incredible DJ! He answered our emails promptly and worked with us to form a perfect playlist for the day. From the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the incredible dance party, we were all blown away by how fantastic he made the day!! Two months before our wedding, the venue cancelled on us and Michael was so accommodating to make our new venue work, he even reached out to us after the wedding venue cancellation to offer a few suggestions of where we could move our wedding. During the ceremony, Michael was able to put a mic on my husband so that we didn't have to hold anything while we read our vows. He was able to not only have a music set up at the top of our ceremony hill but was also able to set up music at the cocktail hour so that as soon as guests walked down the hill they were greeted by not only drinks but wonderful, indie style music. He was so professional and did a wonderful job with announcements during the entire wedding. We loved being able to use his DJ Intelligence platform to request songs we wanted, record the timeline for the day, and announcements we needed him to make. Michael did such a great job picking songs we didn't have on our playlist to go with the dance party we had! One of our favorite things he did was record our ceremony and toasts. This is such a neat and special thing to have, the day went by so fast and while we were trying to stay present it was hard to remember everything so the recordings will be so nice to listen to in order to remind ourselves of the incredible day we had!! He also took pictures and a video, which was so wonderful! He sent all of this the day after our wedding so we could relive the events with our family while they were still in town! We used Michael to be our DJ for our wedding this past weekend, and it was such an enjoyable experience from day 1 working with Michael. I am very particular about music and Michael did not bat an eye to all of our song selections for each of the events, and was completely understanding about us skipping other "typical" wedding events such as the bouquet toss, garter toss, even the first dance! What I also loved about Michael is that his #1 goal was just to make us happy with everything. I didn't want to insult him as a creative DJ by providing a huge list of songs that I wanted to hear, but Michael encouraged and welcomed it and played every one of the songs we wanted, which so many DJs of my friends weddings have not done in the past. He also kept everyone on the dancefloor all night, including my 80 yr old great aunt! We also did our wedding photobooth through Michael, and it was a BLAST! He had a custom sign made for it with our wedding date, and also let us create our own template that had our wedding logo on it for when the film strips were printed. If you are interested in having a photobooth for your event in addition to the DJ, I highly recommend using him. On top of Michael's outstanding job and professionalism, he is just a really pleasant person to work with. Always upbeat and positive, and the wedding process was very difficult for me, so it was extremely comforting knowing that he had our true best interests at heart. Michael was highly recommended to us by the owner of our venue as well as the caterer that does a far amount of weddings there, and I can totally understand why. We had originally hired Michael for our 2020 wedding, and knew he was going to be the DJ for us just based off our phone call. He knew the venue like the back of his hand, and how to set up everything, where to put speakers, etc. His online tools for selecting songs, and organizing a timeline was awesome and very easy to use, plus he was always so professional and friendly on the phone. Everything was going to plan and then COVID hit, and my now husband and I realized that we had to postpone in order to have the wedding we had dreamed of. Michael was more than generous and understanding of the situation and was able to postpone and reschedule for a year later, and our deposit just rolled over. Fast forward to this June, and Michael and his DJ skills were a huge part of making our wedding such a great night. I(we) had some funky music requests for our western wedding and he was totally able to accommodate that, he even extended our ceremony song to make a version that would better fit the ceremony. All our guests were really happy, and very complementary of the music he played, and got many "non-dancy" people out there dancing. Michael is so professional and just a nice person, and a bonus, he records your ceremony and speech's and sends them to you as a gift. Michael did a great job DJ'ing our July wedding at Paradise Ridge. He was easy to work with and very flexible and open to what we wanted. He handled the music and mic's for our outdoor ceremony, and everything was seamless (a huge relief, since most outdoor weddings I've attended have lots of mic and sound problems, so we were worried about that). For the reception, he was really receptive to us wanting a slightly more understated style than most weddings - we didn't do many of the traditions (no father-daughter dance, wedding party announcement, etc), and he was on board to adjust from the traditional flow of events. He stuck to our "play" and "do not play" lists, and built on the theme and feel of music we were after. Only small suggestion would be that his website for selecting songs was a bit cumbersome to use, but not a huge deal. Michael was open to finding any song we were after, and always offered his own ideas as well. And most importantly - he kept the dance floor packed all night! I've been to so many weddings were there's only a few people out there, and Michael was able to read the crowd and keep the energy up such that about 75% of our guests were on the dance floor for most of the night! He even played the Cotton Eyed Joe, a Texas country western classic that my husband requested, which got us up to 95% of guests on the dance floor :) He had us choose two last songs - one slow and one fast. He announced the last dance, and played the slow song and got everyone on the dance floor forming a big circle and group hug around us. Then he played the fast song as a surprise / bonus song, and everyone was already gathered together and just exploded dancing. It was a really fun way to end the night! read more

I just attended another wonderful wedding where Michael was the DJ and he made the event! It was outside and raining! Michael had setup everything with care and diligence even with the pouring rain. Then after dinner the rain finally stopped and the bride and groom wanted to dance outside the tent, which of course meant that Michael would have to move his entire set up about 300 feet and up a hill in the dark. When he was asked to move he said "no problem happy to do it!" And just like that Michael made the wishes of the newlyweds come true. Michael, Michael, Michael! Where shall I begin? When my now Hubby and I decided to get married in the area where we lived, we were scared because we didn't know any vendors in the area. Michael was recommended to me by his sister (I know, I know, but trust me.) We initially set up a phone call and Michael sent over all the paperwork as well as information on his services. We ended up going with DJ and photobooth and we are so glad we went with him as a vendor! We both come from 2 very large Mexican families and when we decided on only a DJ, the pressure was on. Michael was very supportive and very understanding. His online system is so easy to use and is really helpful, especially when it was just the hubby and I - no coordinator! With the help of his system, we had a request list, where we enlisted the help of our family to ensure a little of everything was played; we had access to an event timeline that asked about things we hadn't even thought of; and at our in person meetings, Michael was able to provide his option based on his expertiese. There was an unexpected loss on my hubby's side of the family 2 weeks before the wedding which caused most of his family to not attend. This definitely led to some last minute changes to the schedule and Michael was so pleasant and flexible - any other DJ might have been easily frustrated but not Michael! We also used their photobooth services - everyone is STILL raving about the photobooth! Great quality set up, amazing accessories and overall, the added touch to make the wedding that much more fun! Michael, Deena, and Sue supplied the photo booth for our wedding last week and they did a fantastic job. They had the booth open when guests arrived and allowed them to use the booth in and out for several hours. They suggested I get a photo album and they would instruct guest to put a copy of there photo in it and have them write a message. This was such a special thing for us to have the next day and the guests really seemed to love it. Deena was the attendant and she was so helpful and friendly. All the props were good quality and we had lots of options on backgrounds for the photos. They were also able to customize our printouts so our monogram was included. All in all it was 5 star service, with friendly and profession people, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a photo booth for their wedding. read more

Michael Luna was the DJ for our wedding at Redwood Hill Gardens in Sebastopol. We couldn't be happier with how easy he was to work with and how he did at the wedding. There's a fine line between a DJ with some personality and "that guy" that tries to be the center of attention and whose personality overshadows the wedding. Michael was the perfect balance, kept the party going and the event moving along, but kept the attention on the bride and the event. He was really organized and communicated well in advance on things, got all the music spot-on, and the quality of the audio setup for the ceremony (had a mic on my lapel) was perfect so all the guests could hear everything. We used Michael for our wedding and from the very first meeting explained to him how important the music was to us and that my wants to be very hands on and work closely with him during this process. My fiancé spent 6 mos compiling all the music including specific versions, albums etc. And broke the music up into the specific sections we wanted the songs played during (cocktails, dinner). The couple of times we spoke to Michael he spoke to my now wife very condescending. The day of he wedding started off with him being 1 hr late to the venue. Our wedding was delayed b/c he didn't have the song we were going to walk down the isle to. Fortunately my wife had it on her ipod. He played it from the ipod and the song stopped in the middle of the bridal procession. A random song was selected from his play list for the rest of the bridal procession to finish their entrance. He did open the photo booth for us 1/2 hr early to "make up" for messing up our song. If don't have specific songs or music you are interested in playing at your party Michael is the guy. If you hope to work with him closely and for him to listen and play the songs/versions you have chosen you may want to look elsewhere. read more
