Michael is and will always be my GO-TO caterer for every party larger than 40ppl. I have hired his service twice (and will again in the future!). Every guest was always blown away by the amount of food, the delicious taste, and the service. We did Santa Maria Buffet, which was so abundant. The tri-tip and chicken are SO GOOD. Even the leftover tri-tip was still tender and juicy the next day. May I recommend the POTATO SALAD which is super duper epic! The live grilling is definitely an added entertainment for the party. I didn't know they existed, what a hidden treasure! These ARE the best BBQ ribs I have ever had and so are their macaroni and cheese which I chose as my side!! I went to a BBQ and had Michael's Oak Grill's assortment of meats. I don't know how the process of catering goes about, but the host of the party said that the people behind the company were cordial and incredibly easy to work with. The food catered was down right amazing. The pork ribs were hands down the best I've ever had. It had the right amount of smokiness. Sometimes I think meat cooked over wood can be way too overwhelming with the smoke flavor. This one hit the right notes. Great balance between spice and smoke. The tri tip was amazing as well. Tender, not too over cooked. They serve it up medium rare, which I have no problem with. I also had their sausages, and man, the spice on that was killer. Absolutely loved that heat. They also served an assortment of sides like corn, which accompanied the meat so well. The food was simple but impacted me so much that I felt compelled to write a review about this place. Great job. It was our first time and let me tell you it was a huge hit. The meat itself was so tender and juicy. My mother-in-law was impressed how the meat and sauce was not over seasoned and she is a hard woman to please when it comes to food. Also, I appreciated how they packaged their food. Michael and his wife came all the way to Laguna Beach from Chino to cater our rehearsal dinner last month and everything was absolutely fantastic. He was able to park his wood fired grill in the driveway and cook up some wonderful tri-tip, chicken and baby ribs. For the sides we had the smoked beans, grilled veggies and their great gouda Mac n cheese. They arrived in the middle of the afternoon and started cooking and by the time we were back from the rehearsal about 6:00, everything was set up and ready to go. Drinks were on ice, plenty plates, napkins and utensils for everyone and then there was the food, trays and trays of it. Everything was incredible and I am pretty sure everyone went back for seconds and a few of us (including myself) went back for thirds. We didn't have as many family members show up as we were expecting so there were tons of leftovers that they left with us which was awesome. Because there was no cooking for the rest of the weekend!!! After they were done serving they cleaned up very quickly and were on there way with no mess left behind. All in all it was a great experience with both Michael and his wife being extremely friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. Mikes oak grill was amazing. They did my aunt's wedding and to be honest I was surprised a bbq caterer was being used for a wedding but I was wrong. I had a tri tip plate and I understood why my aunt went with this caterer. They also had this chicken plate that my girlfriend ate which was also really really good. read more
