They could not prove that FedEx Picked up the packages and they would not admit that my packages were lost or stolen. I have a "Drop off confirmation" and a tracking number. They put my package in an open bin under their counter where it stayed from Saturday to Monday, when the FedEx truck came. Office Depot tried to blame it on the FedEx driver forgetting to scan the package, but even if the driver forgot to scan it they would have caught it at the FedEx center. The chain of custody way broken at the Office Depot counter and they have no way to prove that they handed the items over to FedEx. They did not offer to help resolve the situation. I lost $138.00 plus three trips to their office, two trips to FedEx, and hours of phone calls.

I have been a customer for over a year; I purchased 3 sewing machines and attended classes for many…read moredifferent projects. Having said this, I experienced a tragic & sudden loss of a friend. Prior to her death, I signed up for a class and because of this sudden death, I was not able to attend. I called Sierra Sewing in Reno to see about a refund due to these unforeseen circumstances. After two attempts, I finally spoke with Jared and was told I would not receive a refund because their policy states the last day you are allowed to cancel, for a refund, is 7 days prior to class date/time.  My friend died suddenly and there is no way I could give them a 7 day advance notice-given the circumstances surrounding her tragic death. I have spent many thousands of dollars at Sierra Sewing and after being a loyal customer I am told I will not receive my refund because "that is the policy."  I will never shop at Sierra Sewing again. We never know what life will throw at us and instead of sympathy or sorry for my loss, I was told "sorry, you have to cancel 7 days before the class. That's our policy." Think twice before you give them your money. They lack empathy and are unable to understand life's unpredictable events and finally, they do not appreciate a loyal customer. When they show you who they are-believe them.

(You can find their class schedule on the web and I would definitely say that is worth a look-see!) There is parking right in front of the store and it is just off S Virginia St, easy to find. The reason for the three stars has to do with inventory. This is not a large shop so one has to consider space available for merchandise. However, there was not much of a selection and the prices were fairly high. I realize that it is becoming harder to run a brick and mortar store front everyday, but I found the merchandise to be "stale" and dated. (ie: no latest tarot decks, books, etc.) I also felt like if I were to return in a month or so, it would look much as it did the day I visited, with the same merchandise in the same place. It may be that "Mystic Rose" concentrates more on the classes and readings and such, but that's not why I came. I miss the well-stocked metaphysical shops of the past and would love to see a sample tarot deck or book before I purchase it... I guess those days are gone.

I…read morewas lucky enough to visit Mystic Rose just before Christmas, simply because the Carson City friend who picked me up at the airport needed to stop at this store. I had time to peruse the selections thoroughly. I particularly enjoyed the large selection of crystals, and the availability of guides and books that explain how to use the crystals. I ended up buying a hunk of Angelite, and I'm happy that I did. Their selection of divination cards is small, but, again, a nice variety. In particular, I was pleased to see that they carry the Animal Wisdom Cards. I complimented the store owner on this, and we had a nice conversation about the uses and power of this particular deck. There are a few more items upstairs. There is a large second room that is used for classes. I only had a few short days in Nevada, which precluded taking any classes. If I were in Reno for a longer visit, I would definitely want to sample a class or a reading. Small, yes, but a solid, representative selection of various items. You'll never find everything in the world here, but you'll get a nice variety and/or introduction.

Prices are reasonable and fair, owner doesn't gauge like many other specialty shops, we are able to buy paints here for the same price or less than we'd pay online or at big box stores. The owner and regulars are great about sharing best practices for assembling and painting the models. They have games going, some days/nights when they paint, etc. As a parent I don't mind spending time and money here.

They have a really great selection of fancy yarn (I found this yarn that was part silk and wool, it was a Japanese brand!), and I really enjoyed browsing around. They also have a good wall of different knitting needles and crochet hooks, along with other useful notions, like yarn needle extenders (something that I've been looking at online, so I'm happy to see it here in person!). It's a real cute shop, as several people were around there working on their projects, and I can't wait to come back here to try out their stitch nights!
