Nice little shop, tightly organized, well stocked variety w/out being obnoxious and overstimulating. Prices are reasonable and fair, owner doesn't gauge like many other specialty shops, we are able to buy paints here for the same price or less than we'd pay online or at big box stores. The owner and regulars are great about sharing best practices for assembling and painting the models. They have games going, some days/nights when they paint, etc. As a parent I don't mind spending time and money here. read more

What a disappointment We looked for the website for Warhammer @ Summit Mall in Reno. No dice. Multiple websites gave 12 - 6 (or 8p depending on the day). We tried calling, no answer, no info. We tried 2 different days at different times and were disappointed both times. When we tried on a Wed we arrived at noon. We waited, thinking staff was running late. No joy. In fact 3 different groups came by while we waited. Hoping they were locals, we asked if they had insight into the 'Real Hours'. No luck again, all three groups were from out of town. None had visited the store before. The store is def well supplied, from the outside the stock, selection, and organization looks good but we were frustrated as the shop was not open to their posted hours. The Summit Mall is lovely. Easy to get to, a variety of stores but we will not bother going back. Warhammer store in Reno - update your phone msg w hours, update Yelp w actual hours, put a handwritten sign on the door as the formal sign was not accurate. Great service and knowledgeable staff took time to teach me all about the game. The figures are cool and very customizable large selection. Naturally the figures and game parts are more expensive than I had expected but this seems typical of most niche hobbies. Seems like they've got everything you could need to take a dive into the game. I wish they had more figures on display instead of in boxes but all the boxes are new and sealed which is nice read more

In all the times I've frequented this location I have received above-and-beyond customer service from the gentleman who runs the store, Mason. As a new but quickly fascinated hobbyist, this store has been an amazing resource of knowledge, friendly faces, and hard-to-find Gameworkshop products. This is the official Warhammer store of Reno. They have everything you need for Warhammer 40k and Age of Sigmar. They have pretty much any model, paint or accessories you would need for the hobby. You have to keep in mind that everything is straight MSRP, so you have to measure accessibility vs small discounts elsewhere. Side note: the citadel clippers, glue, paintbrushes, etc. are overpriced and can be found way cheaper elsewhere. The guy that runs the store is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. If you have any Warhammer questions he would definitely be the one to ask. They have some tables for possible games or painting/modeling. It does kind of feel awkward, like you're just playing a game in the middle of a store in the mall. Overall this store has exactly what you want from an official GW store. It is perfect for people wanting to get into the hobby, learn the game, or grab something you need immediately. read more

I'm an avid Warhammer 40,000 fan, so I was intrigued to see a "Warhammer" -named store rather than "Games Workshop" brand store that I'm accustomed to. Long story short, different name same store. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but I do frequent Games Workshop stores and other tabletop gaming stores just out of curiosity as to carry themselves. I walk into the shop with my girlfriend, and immediately the employee (didn't get a name, but had a beard, wore glasses and had a weird man bun thing going on) and looks at me inquisitively as if I'm unsure as to what kind of store I walk into... he tells me to ask him if I have any questions about what they sell. Ummmm... way to assume that I don't know wtf I'm looking at, guy. By the end of the 10 minutes I spend in the store, I pick up a box of Gretchin (I play Orks), and as he's ringing me up, he says "oh cool, goblins huh?" I look at him now like he's stupid and say "uhh yeah, got myself some GROTS (one of the nicknames they're referred to in the Warhammer 40k lore).." any other moment I would've figured he's just trying to make funny small talk, but he came off as if he was antagonizing me that I didn't know what I was buying. Everyone knows better than to buy massive amounts of Warhammer product from the actual store and it's cheaper to rely on eBay or local gaming shops for discounted prices.. but I do tend to support the hobby by buying from GW occasionally. Having said that, this employee didn't do his store justice by alienating customers by failing to try to explain the produce you're selling, but talk to them like they're a child when in fact, they have an idea on what they're purchasing. Didn't help that instead of interacting with new customers he complained about regular gamers leaving their models behind and wanting to expand on one of the tables available for gaming. Luckily I didn't come to Reno to further my tabletop gaming, but best believe I wouldn't support this hobby store in the future. read more

We just came into store while in Nevada. We were so excited to actually find a specialty store but the 4 guys in there seemed more into talking to each other than the customers. One guy said hi but nobody asked if they could help. Also nothing had prices on it but the paint and since we felt like they didn't really want us there we did not want to ask prices on each thing we picked up. Really cool store. This business used to be great back when Elijah ran the store but since his departure it has gone downhill drastically. The employee now Mason is more interested in sitting down and talking with his friends instead of helping customers with questions. If this store gets a new employee I will go back but until then I will take my business to comic kingdom where they actually care about their customers. read more

We are still new to the Warhammer 40K world, and Mason was very helpful in getting us set up with starter armies. He also showed us some new paints that we have since used, and love. I only wish the store was closer in town, but we make a point to go down and look at new stuff at least monthly. read more

As a recent returnee to the states I was surprised to see a local Games Workshop be so readily available as they were when I lived in Japan. When I walked in today with my compliant five year old son I noticed the staff being pleonastic with other employees (whom looked to be off) and the first words out of the representative's mouth to us was not in the nature of greeting but, and I quote, "There are a lot of delicate things in here so make sure he's careful." giving a loutish nod toward my son. I informed him I'm well aware of the presence of adult toys lying about. I was not that crass but the gist was understood. He then came over and apologized saying he just needs to say that when he sees kids enter. Obviously this childless troglodyte hasn't graduated to the point of taking care of another human being. We looked at a few paints (my son and I) and perused the decent selection of items, behaving correctly like he normally does. The staff did return and talk about paints with us, assuming the tension between us had passed. My son and I did look at some miniatures set up, maintaining common sense about touching them and then we brought our two containers of Citadel paints to the front. As we were paying, the staff said that my son was well behaved and even reiterated it directly to him. He would have known that if he had not made a judgement call right off the bat. My son has received far superior treatment at antiques or jewelry stores than this sadly ironic shell of a "gaming" store. If this philistine attitude toward a five year old neophyte is commonplace, I'd be scared to find out how the staff would react if someone non-white entered the store, I'm thinking they need some Fred Pryor courses on customer service. They have a decent selection but we will not waste our time here again. Either online, "Comic Kingdom" or "Games Galore" will carry what you need. read more

I've been coming here all the way from Tahoe for at least a year now and Eli is great! My kids love checking out the ongoing games and have even been given painting lessons and a free miniature. Eli is always my first stop when I'm looking for a new model for my army and he's very knowledgeable when it comes to Warhammer and Games Workshop products. I highly recommend if you have any interest in Warhammer stop by and see Eli first and he will set you on the right path like he did for me! read more

Great staff and good people. I know nothing about warhammer but I wanted to learn and get into the hobby. The staff gave me the core rule book and I sat there for nearly a hour reading the lore. After I decided what army I wished to have the staff then helped me extensively in what kit to start with and the colors to use. I have now been to this shop twice and am very impressed. They treated me like family right off the bat, I now have a warhammer home. If you are new to the warhammer universe I highly recommend going to this shop and asking all the questions you can think of. read more
