Would like to know how i can email management. I have been a crafter for Years. Its a shame having to take the time to write reviews such as this one, when i mostly take the time to leave appreciative reviews or mail out Thank you cards. I was at Michaels yesterday and had the MOST unpleasant experience with a cashier named KAREN. She was rude, threw a gift card i handed her to pay with back at me after paying and got very upset when i told her i had my 20% off sales items coupon to scan. I will def be contacting management. Not surprised at the low ratings here. Went to this location today because they were the only location that had the product I needed. Placed my order for pick up then drove over to pick up additional items. I saw as the girl picked my order so when I went to pay I mentioned to the cashier that I wanted to pick up my order as well. The girl that picked my order told her she would bring it in 3-4 minutes. I used the restroom which was filthy and still walked around another 5 minutes or so. Then I went outside and waited an additional 20 minutes or so until I received an email stating my order was ready for pick up. I walked in and it was not ready, it was still in the girl's cart. She asked me to wait a few minutes because she was still working on bagging other orders....while I did not see anyone else waiting to pick up an order. She wanted me to continue waiting after having me wait already 30 + minutes. No common sense whatsoever...I was waiting on 2 items that were sitting in her cart. At checkout, our cashier Dezarae was given a giftcard. She is persistent in giving us directions to swipe the giftcard. I have used a Michael's giftcard in the past and know that the number needs to be entered for the giftcard to be applied. Well after swiping and it not working, Dezarae asks if we want to use the giftcard. Clearly we do if it was handed to her and we mentioned we had a gift card. She proceeds to stare at us while she considers what to do next. She finally asks for help and the other cashier comes over to help her. That did not change anything as we are being told there is no funds on this new giftcard. A second person comes to help and says we have no funds again. FINALLY Dezarae was able to correctly enter the code from the giftcard and we were able to leave. Michael's needs to ensure that their staff are fully trained before working. Theirs always a sale going on. If things are full priced they usually send out a 40% off a regular prices items. The associates are almost non existing until you get to s register. Normally, I enjoy micheales...even this one but after today, im not sure i will return to this one. Honestly, im surprised its even around. 1. Service is slow on a good day. On busy days, forget getting any help. 2. Its hard to find what you need. Its either not there, Moved, or the staff can't bother to help 3.mask nazi's: its bad enough having to wait in a line out side a practically empty store (because to avoid covid- make people stand outside together rather then watch people avoid each other inside) i had to deal with some twit 'reminding me to put on a mask...while outside 4. I would like to express how unsatisfide I am with the refund of a class I signed up for. I spoke with store manager Lori who was very nice and advised I would get a full refund due to the instructor was out sick for 2 weeks, she suggested the instructor call me to re-schedule which has yet to happen. This was over a week a go. I walked in the store today and asked that my refund be applied to some supplies I needed to buy.... well the on shift manager said only Lori can do this transaction, needless to say I walked out upset, all managers on shift should know their process and should know how to help, I am a busy mom who found a few minutes to walk in the store. I have yet to receive a call from the instructor. & I was not helped in the store. read more

This is a bigger store than the La Verne location, which should mean that they have more in stock. Not so... I find this location to be hard to navigate and the organization is nothing near intuitive. I inquired about something that was in the clearance rack, a pack of stickers that was used, and the manager did not want to discount the item. My kids would have loved the stickers, but even paying the "normal sale" price was ridiculous. Bad customer service, poorly planned store. I doubt I will return to this location. read more

James was very pleasant, he was able to help me find exactly what I came in to buy. The cashier is always such a pill, it's as though she hoards all things in the store as her own and doesn't want anyone to have them. I want so badly to enjoy Michael's again- I've come here a couple times in the last few years to avoid supporting Hobby Lobby but I leave the store so disappointed every time. This in no way reflects customer service here, I called Labor Day to see if they were open and the happiest, friendliest employee answered! I even had an easy, cool check-out. My issue is with the lack of stock and high prices. The girl who rang me up did not put one of my items in my bag. It would not have been such a big deal if I lived near by but I live 30 miles away and just happened to be in the area so I stopped by. I called and spoke to the manager Norma, she was very nice and said she would hold the item for me. I told her I was going to try to get that item at a store near me. The issue with this place is that they are always understaffed. I've never not waited at least 5-10 minutes in line for ONE employee to ring up the two or three people in front of me. And because of the nature of craft stores, they always have questions about products. They bring the questions to the register because it's hard to find help in the store. So yeah, "meh." read more

Very disappointed. My little girl ordered my Mother's Day gift online for curbside pick-up. We drove 16 miles with tolls to get there, because it was the only Michaels with our item in stock. Collected the item and drove home. The item is not correct. Not even close to the picture online. Was told by "manager" that the item had the same SKU as the one I ordered, even though the name and picture is completely different And the one I wanted is not in stock. This is my local store. I've given this place so many chances. A lady with a name that starts with an S is always rude. She always says my coupons arent able to be used but yet when she tries to scan, it works. I ended up buying online so I wont be ripped off by the employees who doesnt even want to bother with scanning a coupon. Its happend by others as well. It is a testament to our American society that businesses this poorly run still survive is a supposedly "capitalist" marketplace. While I don't have a big complaint against what they carry (though the vast majority of it is "get what you pay for") this seems to be the walmart of arts and crafts - ie: you only need a pulse to work here. My biggest complaint is from their framing department which you MUST STAY AWAY FROM. It is beyond inept. While the majority of framing jobs they outsource (so you'll get a half decent product back) ANYTHING done in store is a complete joke. I brought in four photos to be mounted on foam core (a fairly easy process that I generally do myself but didn't have the time). Not ONE of the four photos actually had even edges to it and each one you could see some of the white foam board behind it - not in a framing manner but obviously because they were lazily cut. I highly doubt anyone from the company reads, or even cares about yelp reviews but if they do you should be ashamed. Across the board you should be. Stood and waited in line (nobody was in line) two of the older lady workers were standing there chit chatting about another customer that had just left while another worker was standing at another register. She looked at us 3 times before asking if we were ready. Tried to give us an issue about a coupon. Prices aren't too bad, but there aren't a lot of people around to ask for help if you're looking for something or would like advice. I think I went to the wrong Michaels in Ontario, because the one remember was better than this one. While staff seemed friendly enough, they had less of the scrapbook stuff I look for in other Michaels stores. As usual, you can never tell about their sale bin or stickers if the ones hanging on the display are really the sale ones. The clearance stuff has no sale stickers on it. The holiday candle section was decimated and not a single cinnamon scent could be found! All in all, you might want to shop at other Michaels and skip this one if you can. read more

Michael's is soo much fun! You've got your slew of various products to choose from and in your creative madness, Michael's is the ultimate sandbox. Generally, their service is hit or miss and today this Upland location was a total HIT! :D I had two employees helping me to choose different ornaments and paints to decorate with. Explaining to me the techniques and which types would be better or not. Then, the icing on top came at the register. The kind girl's first comment to me was that there was coupons available online today. I love this store! The employees here have been more then helpful. I have visited this location four times in the last month buying supplies for a party I'm planning. Not only did they find online coupons for me at the register but they called the other local stores for me when they were out of a certain item. I had to visit two other Michael's to finish up centerpiece and the employees at this location and the other ones made it happen. The prices here are very reasonable. read more
