My last few experiences with Michaels has been in their framing shop. I've been to this store before, but it's been a very long time. After a year delay my son decided he wanted Dad to frame his diploma from last year. I researched and purchased the frame from a school vendor they recommended. However, Michael's offers many options to purchase frames from them. My first visit staff inspected the frame and diploma and took measurements. The cost was $10 + tax which was very fair. The turnaround time was promised in a day, or two. I received a message it was completed within 24 hours. Pick up was pretty smooth after pushing the button for staff with no one at the counter. The staff pulled the frame from the ready to pick up at the front counter. It's was nicely wrapped and ready for delivery. The packing was unwrapped for my approval. It looked amazing! I would absolutely recommend Michael's Frame shop. read more

This Michaels has a good selection and is in a nice strip mall area near to other things like Crumbl cookies, La Yaca, etc. Be sure to sign up for the phone app to see store coupons and weekly specials bc there are always great specials going on. I often come to have custom framing done and nobody does it like Michaels! When they have a sale it is such a good deal. They have tons of items inside - some home decor, crafts, florals, frames, seasonal and a large wedding section. read more

Michaels started out as a craft and art store. Now it is more like a home goods and not even that great. Ever since AC Moore got bought out and closed, Michaels has gone down hill fast and looks like they are staying there. I say that because. When you go in and expect the holiday stuff to be up and they do not have much of anything like they use to. It is not great anymore, it is just AHHHH(SO SO) I use to walk out with lots of stuff and now I walk out with nothing most of the time and go down the street to other stores. Im sure someone will like this type store but it is just not for me with all the changes they have made. I go in once in a great while now. Where past years I would go in once a week. A crafters paradise. I no longer have a need for glittery things, but today when I went in to look at stamps I saw glitter on clearance and for some reason got excited. I investigated all the bold bright colors even though I had no use for any of the. I have this great sense of nostalgia every time I walk through the doors of Michael's. I was the kid with glue gun burns on my fingers in elementary, middle and high school. I had the most elaborate project boards always. In college ART was one of my majors which means that I've spent countless hours and hundreds of dollars at Michael's in my lifetime. In college I had to purchase many expensive paintbrushes (among other items) and the weekly coupons were of the greatest need and help. The staff are usually knowledgable and offer great assistance. I broke a very expensive painting that was in my wife's family for decades. My wife was literally threatening divorce. Two words - Craft heaven. I am a sucker for projects, and all things handmade - as in, I'd like to try to make everything at least once (whether I am successful or not) - it's all about the process! Michaels surely is a friend. I can get supplies for anything I may want/need, planned or on a whim. I could list every section and every product available but let's face it, this review would reach its maximum capacity (is there such a thing?) Take your phone with you while you're at it, since there are always great coupons and discounts for just about anything you're gonna purchase. The staff is usually pretty good about it too, they will usually ask you or mention it in case you don't bring it up. Luckily I have not had such a bad experience as the previous reviewer, though it's definitely true that the check-out line at Michaels--this one and the Pembroke one--is often on Sunday time. I'm not sure if it's the old people or the cashiers or both or something else entirely. Going in there at Christmas is, well, you can imagine. Be prepared to linger. Generally, I don't think this location is as nice as the one at Pembroke, which is surprising since it's in Hilltop. read more

Went to Micheals to pick up some candy melts. They had all the colors and not just white or chocolate. Just one of those living on an Island (Hawaii) thing .. you don't get options for colored candy melts. It may seem small to you but when you have to color your own white candy melt to make a pumpkin cake pop .. it kinda sucks. Anyways. I found everything I needed here. They were helpful when I asked questions. The cashiers were quick and I even got a girl in training and she did great. OH .. and! .. I didn't have a coupon on me but they totally hooked me up with one. Just had to give them my email address. Also. I downloaded the app...which has coupons. Score! read more

Annoying place to go! Can not find ANYTHING you want ever. The store is labeled incorrectly or they are out of what you need. None of the employees know where anything is. I walk around in circles looking for one item like glue gun glue replacements. When you finally find something to purchase be ready to wait a while to check out. There is usually only one cashier and even when a long line starts to form no one jumps in to help. If you are behind someone with a return forget about checking out at all. Their systems need to be revamped. IF you are a business that only allows one person to handle a line let them have the override code to their own drawer. A whole line should not have to wait for a code. How awkward for the person with a return. Were in a fast paced world these days KEEP UP! read more

While I have definitely gotten bitten by the knitting bug I must say that I had an aggravating experience at this location. Why is it that old people seem to argue over any amount of spare change (2.21 to be exact)? I thought that I had picked a good check out line, I hadn't. And it seems like no matter what location I go to the cashiers are old and the people in front of me in line are always negotiating prices, etc. Word to wise: patience is not a virtue here. Maybe they need to have a line that the manager works for the elderly that are arguing 2 cents a piece over 5 sheets of paper...please Michaels...get with the program and help the young folks! read more

Michaels is a great place to pick up supplies for crafting and cute deals for decorating your home. There are always coupons in the newspaper on Sundays as well as on their mobile app. They have really nice pre made arrangements for each season as well. read more

I needed to buy flowers for my father's grave so I went into Michaels to see what they had. A gentleman named Glenn showed me a few that they had already made up for fall that were marked down. He said he would be glad to make one for me if I didn't like either of the ones they had. I told him I was on a lunch hour and he said he could get it done for me. He helped me choose flowers and was so very knowledgeable about what to use. I had to wait just a few minutes longer than originally planned BUT the finished product was absolutely beautiful!! Glenn went above and beyond to get this special arrangement done for me and I just wanted to let everyone know about him. He's only in the First Colonial Store one day a week and is usually in the Pembroke Store. Thanks Glenn for a job well done.
