Returning customer here. The place is very welcoming don't be shy! They're very family oriented. Friday nights are kid's night. I've made 2 car purchases from them and countless part purchases never had a problem. There's no returns, but you genuinely won't need to return something unless YOU've got some extenuating circumstances. I've hung out there fixing up my older car and driving my newer one. Apparently they're willing to change their place up too. I returned today after a year or closer to 2 year break from the hobby and they've changed their layout. They now have a drift track instead of a crawl track! Might not change often but hey that's neat that they're adding variety to their "playground". I definitely recommend this place with high praise. The hobby's not cheap, but you're getting a good deal at Coastal. Go check em out. read more

Originally, I had posted a review stating the following: "Beware, Coastal RC doesn't offer refunds of cash or credit cards and only store credit. Make sure that you are sure of your purchase before you do so. I was purchasing a car for my son's 7th birthday to try to get him into the hobby and my ex-wife went a different route and now I am out a store credit of $305.36 which will most likely never be used. Make sure you read their "fine prints" and signs, so you don't fail as I did. Hard to believe a business such as this wouldn't offer it. Left a bad taste in my mouth for my future business." I then went online to some local FB groups where I posted: "I was purchasing a car for my son's 7th birthday from Coastal RC to try to get him into the hobby, but my ex-wife went a different route, I didn't know they only offer store credit for cash or credit card purchases. I am out a store credit of $305.36 which will most likely never be used. Would really like to find someone which could use this, I won't. By the way, I am not giving this away. It's a return for cash or an agreed amount! If you are interested send me a message." ... then the keyboard bashing began. It started off where some local customers were just as perplexed by their rules as well, while others decided to share their opinions/comments. It escalated quickly when someone decided to step in and give their opinion of Coastal RC when Barry Schimmel was tagged and the unpleasantries began. Barry was eager to share some of his true colors. He took the liberty of giving very unprofessional opinions of the other and then the fangs turned onto me. During the first part he said how pleasant of a customer I was and then said if I had any issues with their return policy I should have "complained" and they would have honored it. So apparently as a customer of Coastal RC if you want the service you deserve, you must complain to receive it. While in my returned comments in the post I made it very clear I never received a receipt for my purchase because they put it into their system under each person's profile nor was, I verbally told. To add some context to it all. When I was purchasing it, talking to Jeremy for a while, educating myself, asking about recommendations, showing me a bunch of other cars was there any mention of their return policy, specifically even when I explained my uncertainties of the car and when I told Jeremy I may be bringing it back. He made very it clear to me that it would have to be 95% in better condition for them to except the return. I explained to him if I did so I wouldn't be using it. Still no mention of the policy. As you stand there at the counter talking to the employees, rendering your purchase it's easy to miss this little 7" x 2" sign at the bottom of the register which is to the left of the credit card transaction machine and yet you really must focus on the small print at the bottom to notice. None of this was realized until I came back on 24 NOV where Jermey inquired to why I was returning all three unopened items. That is when he pointed out the refund policy. While I was very frustrated, I wasn't going to get angry about it since it was my fault for missing the sign, not asking what their return policy was, or even assuming. So once the large gaggle of others finished talking about their cars, what they did to upgrade it, and one of them running back and forth to collect his toddler, I was given the opportunity to proceed to the counter. Barry didn't inform furthermore about the refund policy, just asked why I was returning the car. I then asked if I was able to give the store credit to anyone else in hopes of trying to get him to understand I wasn't going to be using it. He said it would be going into a gift card and I could give it to whomever, he walked off for what seemed to be five minutes around the store trying to find the gift cards. Went in today and used their crawler course and had a great time. Very fun and challenging course.

This place looked great! My family and I stopped in for a few mins and thoroughly enjoyed what we saw. We talked to James and Justin, they were great! Very courteous and knowledgeable. The only complaint I have concerns a person I think was a customer or maybe an employee (not sure). As we talked with James and Justin this gentleman, Kevin was his name, kept talking about all his cars and how they were the best you could get. He kept making fun of the Traxxas brand (which I own). This was a real set back for me. While this place looked great, to have someone make me feel like my cars were substandard since they were Traxxas and not what Mr. Kevin had made me feel like this was not the place for me. As a local police officer we always look for places to hold community events, this would have been great except that one person ruined that. I'm sure this is a great business and wish them the best, but they need to be aware as to who is talking with potential customers. read more
