This store was huge! We've been to other Michaels stores in other locations, but it has been a while. There's ample parking in the lot out front. I had an art project in mind and an idea of what I needed to buy, but I wasn't really sure which of the different brands or types of the product to get. Unfortunately, there's not much staff here to help. I had to go to the front cashier and ask someone there where to even find what I wanted. And there's no staff wandering around to ask further questions. I just had to guess and hope for the best. The other problem is that the store is so large that it's hard to discover what's where. You wind up wandering a lot more than you'd like to just going up and down the aisles. I certainly got in my steps this day. Since there aren't many stores like this for arts and craft supplies that I know of (Is there any other?), I suppose I'd return. read more

Looking for craft supplies and stopped in here today. Michael's has been consistent in having what we have been looking for to complete our projects. Store is well stocked with inventory, however this location only had two visible associates covering the store and register. We were able to find our item and check out with no problems. read more

I only go to Michaels for two reasons: 1. When my child needs supplies for a project; and 2. When I need yarn. And they have cut back tremendously on their yarn selection. This has been happening over the years and now it's just sad. Like really sad, if you knew how much I love yarn, and how far I live from a Joanne's or a Hobby Lobby. Anyway, they have redone this Michaels to match the one in PBG. The front is self-checkout heavy, which probably cost some people their jobs. However, it makes the store look more modern and the checkout process is much quicker. So of course they didn't have the yarn I was looking for. I ordered a frame described as BLACK, but a white frame was delivered. Only when I went to try to return it could I see that there had been a color selection and "white" was the default. When I tried to return it, they said that I would have to contact the vendor. My order was with Michaels, not a third-party vendor. And considering that they say on their website that they will accept all items for credit or return, they do not stand behind that statement. The vendor will not take it back and so I am stuck with a frame I cannot use and am out over $64....After all of the money I have spent at Michaels over the years, I will never step foot in one of their stores again or order online. They do not stand behind their promise and do not value long-time customers. read more

In the last few months, I've attended several of the MAKE Breaks on Saturday afternoons at Michael's in Okee Square. For the first event, I made a cute "Happy Fall" plaque to hang up on a wall in my house. Miss Abby from Michael's was so helpful and full of suggestions that I looked forward to another session of being 'crafty.' Michael's supplies most of the items like paint, glitter, ribbons, glitter, glue, and markers needed to make the projects. You buy the wooden plague, wreath, vase, pumpkin, whatever project is featured that Saturday. You can use a 40% off coupon towards your purchase. I love that I am able to create something without having to buy a lot of supplies that I may never use again. The second MAKE Break I attended, I attempted to decorate a (plastic) pumpkin. There were many children in attendance that day. It was fun to watch them as they created their own 'masterpieces.' Once again, Miss Abby was so full of ideas and plentiful supplies to spark the children's imaginations and creativity. My pumpkin didn't quite turn out how I wanted but I had a great time watching the kids have fun as they worked. Now I'm looking forward to getting myself to Michael's for one of the Christmas MAKE Breaks scheduled! read more

This location used to house a Comp USA, but after going out of business they decided to throw in a Michael's craft store in its place. Normally, most Michael's are a dime a dozen, but this one is by far the BEST one I've been to. It has a really great beading section, which is helpful since the local bead shops around the area close well before 9pm. (Hey, us beaders work too ya know?) Also, many Michael's have a pretty poor selection of scrapbooking papers, but this one has an extensive variety of more modern papers, not just the same ones I have seen for the past 4 years. All in all, I love going to this store when I'm in the area. I just wish my local Michael's (*cough* Aventura location *cough) would get a clue and model itself after this one. read more

Custom frames on a budget? I did not think it could be achieved. With help, expertise and loads of patience from Darien, (Aaron's Framing), in Michael's, my problem was solved! My project involved eight custom-size pieces of art. Darien helped me create a gallery wall to showcase the work. All completed on a budget. I will tell you that I've never had such a wonderful customer service experience in my life. These guys went above and beyond to help me with my framing needs and covered every concern I had. Very upset with how the checkout lady treated me for trying to help find the price tags. I was in a rush with my mom and brother and she was taking a minute each item to find the tags so I tried to help and she snatched the item from my and and rudely said let me do it. So not happy with this experience and I probably won't go back to Michael's, I will go to the much more friendly hobby lobby. read more

Talk about RUDE!!!!! The cashier was one of the most unfriendly, rudest person I have ever encountered! Standing in line, she tells me I have to wait so she can ring out people from another line because they were waiting longer than I was. I'm sorry....I had been standing in line waiting too. Then she rang up my purchase with the wrong price, told me I couldn't use a coupon I received via email today that said valid today and tomorrow. The smirk on her face didn't help either.
