I live just outside of Wimberley, so I finally decided to give Josh Poole of The Color Bar a try. Aside from being extremely talented, Josh is always willing to work with me. If I decide I want to let my hair grow a little longer, he makes it happen. If I tell him I want to go crazy with color, he's right there with ideas. When it's time for a cut and trim, I always look forward to seeing Josh. He has become quite a good friend. I later realized I was charged for part of a service that wasn't even performed yet. On the day of my appointment, I expected a four-hour session that included highlights around my face (as specifically requested), color touch-ups, and making sure my natural hair blended properly. Instead, the stylist immediately started installing the extensions. She briefly went to the back with the extension hair to "color it" but returned so quickly it raised doubts that any proper treatment was done. No highlights were applied to my own hair, even though that was discussed. The appointment lasted about half the time she originally scheduled, and I didn't receive the complimentary conditioner or advertised deal she still had posted on her Instagram page. When I asked, she said that promotion was no longer valid, but instead offered $100 off. For the amount of money spent, I expected the service as described, not shortcuts. Within a week, the extension color completely washed out despite my using a water softener and high-end color-protecting salon shampoo/conditioner. I do not swim or use clarifying products, so this should not have happened. Another salon later looked at my extensions and pointed out that the hair had turned pinkish on one side, and discolored on all extensions...which is not normal for quality extension hair. Lastly, I noticed the leftover hair wasn't provided in its original packaging. Instead, it was put into a different brand's bag (Bellami), which left me feeling uneasy about what I actually paid for. Overall, I left feeling misled, shortchanged, and very disappointed.
