Life is tough. Ann is excellent and I regret not living in grants pass but whenever it works I go. She is very accommodating with my hectic schedule. I like a relaxing, but therapeutic massage, where my tense stressed out muscles feel good when I leave and later. She accomplishes all this. When I'm having a bad neck and shoulders day she focus on these areas but finds areas I didn't know needed help. She has great elbows in the places that need, also prices are cheap compared to what I'm used to. I would recommend her to anyone.

My primary complaint was not taken care of despite their best effort. It happens. I was thinking about coming back in a week to see if that would help- but upon paying she asked me how much I wanted to tip. I said $15. I felt this was more than fair considering the massage was $70, my neck and back pain did not change, and they called me nonstop to change my scheduled time. At present, I felt a (for me) special need to receive massage therapy. I communicated prior in consultation my body's needs, and also early during our session that I needed a deeper, more systemic massage, but my communication did not impact the modality. The response I received was, "We'll see." I was not listened to. I wanted to wait a few days to monitor my biofeedback before formulating an opinion, and as some time has passed, I feel no therapeutic benefit was received. There was no felt toxin release or muscular physiological shift. My body just needs a modality that utilizes deeper pressure for systemic benefit. This would be a fine experience simply within the context of a relaxing afternoon, or if the cost was not aligned with local market rate, which is well above national averages. Unfortunately, I am going to have to continue searching for a massage therapy nearby. I only hope that this was simply an isolated experience, and not representative of the school, otherwise I feel a need to seek external influence in finding a massage therapy of value. I will not be returning to Ashland Institute of Massage, as I received no value for what I paid, which is disheartening coming from the region's education center.

Finally was able to get a massage (from RoseAnn) and I am so much better! She made the time to extend my 60 minute massage appointment to a 90 minute one in order to work on my body pain as needed. She helped me sooo much! It is now 45 minutes after the massage and my body is much more relaxed and the pain is not with me at the moment. However, I was disappointed because I specifically requested a full-body deep tissue massage and asked beforehand if he was able to provide that type of treatment. He said yes, but the deep tissue portion only lasted about 15-20 minutes before transitioning back into a light Swedish-style massage. I was also not informed that he only focuses on certain sections of the body, even though I requested a full-body session. I completely respect his massage style and understand that it may be exactly what some clients are looking for. I just wish there had been more honesty and clarity upfront so I could have chosen a therapist better suited to the type of treatment I wanted. I left feeling disappointed because I paid for a service that didn't match what was discussed beforehand.
