They were both so nice, and after telling Vaia I had never had a real massage before she was understanding (I felt pretty lame going into such a fancy place not knowing what I'm doing or getting into) and nice and was asking me what kind of pressure I like and I said I didn't know, and she just said we'll see what happens and I could feel free to let her know what I needed and wanted, and what areas I want her to focus on, etc. I ended up just not even saying anything during the massage because it was just perfect all around! I knew about the lounge going in, and it's so relaxing. With the escape package we got some champagne and chocolates and got the whole "oasis club" area to ourselves for a whole hour. It's so lovely in there with the infra-red sauna, steam room, nice showers with great products you can try for yourself, and the Himalayan salt room which is my favorite part, and ended up being my husband's favorite too (even though at first he was skeptical and didn't understand what the point of a pit full of salt was)... Overall it was a really easy and nice experience scheduling and everything. It was such a lovely time. For my first spa experience I'm really really pleasantly surprised because I assumed it was going to be awkward! It was very relaxing. We had been discussing throughout the massage that my knee is injured (Torn meniscus, arthritis, no cartilage) and that I couldn't fully straighten it without discomfort. At the very end, after she wrapped my feet in warm towels, she grabbed my leg and pulled ( traction) and it really hurt. I yelped out loud. She just sort of left the room. It completely ruined the massage, because now my knee was hurting. I said something to her once I came out of the room and she was there to greet me. I told her that she probably didn't mean to hurt me, but she did. No apology, she just told me to "take care" and hurried off. I'm a long time massage therapist and I would never have treated a client that way. Very disappointing to pay all that $$ and leave upset. I really enjoy the wellness lounge, though. That was the best part of the experience.
