The vibe is very boring, circa 20 years ago looking. Needs an update. If a trained stylists with a hair license runs out of time at your appointment, they will have the secretary at the front dry and style your hair. The girl told me, it is illegal, but not to worry about it because Carla the owner does it all the time. The staff uses language that is not professional. One of the stylists broke my hair off and when I asked her about it she became extremely agitated. Obviously this person is not mature enough to deal with the public. I've never had someone raise their voice at a salon. After the incident, she was not reprimanded and she still works there. I think they are so in need of employees that they will take anyone. Stay away from the salon unless you want broken, fried hair and a tongue lashing from some very unprofessional characters. I first went to the salon with a picture of what I would like - a light balayage on my short hair. The hairdresser told me that it would take a couple sessions to get the color I wanted and I agreed. My first session was around $150. I was concerned with the small amount of hair that was actually lightened, only light on the top layer of my hair - not the full balayage I had asked for, but assumed she knew what she was doing. At my second appointment, I asked for a trim as well. Firstly, she told me she didn't want to do a trim that day, but rather at my next appointment. It felt uncomfortable to argue, so I agreed. When she took the foils out of my hair, I told her that I didn't see any difference, and that this wasn't the same as what I had asked for. She told me it would lighten up within a couple of days. My hair didn't lighten, and I was extremely frustrated that I had just paid another $100 for essentially nothing. All of my coworkers asked me why I hadn't gone to my hair appointment, since they couldn't see any difference whatsoever. I called the salon and explained my dilemma. I told them that I wasn't comfortable having the same person fix my hair, as she hadn't done my hair as I'd asked on two occasions. The receptionist told me she understood and that she would speak with the owner. Soon after, the same hairdresser who had done my hair texted me that she would be happy to do my hair after hours free of charge, and that all I should have done was to have asked her. So uncomfortable, but I agreed. I gave her a list of days I was available, and she responded that none of those dates would work. I said I would be free the week after the following, and she never responded. A month later, I called the salon AGAIN, and explained what had happened. They told me a refund was not an option, as I hadn't told her I was unsatisfied with my hair until after the fact (which was not the case). Though I clarified this, they called me back several days later and told me that they could have someone else fix my hair that Thursday at 12pm. I put it in my calendar. Though I didn't feel comfortable even going to the salon at this point, I agreed. I showed up at 12pm on Thursday, and they told me that my appointment was the following week. This was hands down the worst, most unprofessional salon experience I have ever had. I wasted $250, and now am in search of another salon so I can pay to have my hair done how I had asked 3 months ago.

But these reviews explain why her hair cuts are cheaper than the other stylists at this salon. My coworker got back from her break with freaking beautiful hair. I've been looking for a good stylist in Corvallis, so as soon as I saw her "do" I made sure to find out whose hands had done that magic. She directed me to Jen Schaefer at Monroe Avenue Salon. I heard it was pretty pricey, but I thought I should give it a shot. I got layers and a cut from Jen, who was a complete doll. She was super personable and did a great job with my hair. The only issue is that I don't think I communicated what I wanted very well. I wanted a trim and a slight cut, but she ended up chopping off about 7 inches (Don't worry, I had it to spare. My hair is still shoulder length after the cut). I wasn't so sure about it after I left, but now that it's been a few days, I can tell that Jen really knew what she was doing and I'm very happy with the changes. She's pretty new in town ladies, let's give her some business because she deserves it!

You'll share one for $2" well that's not how it's supposed to be and they cut both myself and my daughter's fingers in multiple spots.
