I got my haircut 3 weeks ago by Rachel. Worst haircut EVER! Not the normal place I go but mine isn't open. She did not listen to me at all and literally just chopped away. It still looks horrible. I offered to show her a picture so she would know what I was talking about but she declined. Said she knew what she was doing. I had to go back once to have her even the sides because it was so obviously uneven. Worst $47.00 ever spent. I would not recommend this place - overpriced and totally incompetent! Dahlia is my favorite stylist and does an amazing job on my nails and hair. I've been hesitant to color my hair due to prior bad experiences at overpriced salons. Dahlia took the time to listen to what I wanted, show me pictures of the cut and color and pays such close attention to detail my new cut and color correct prior problems and is just what I wanted. She made my hair look classy and nice and has great product recommendations. She is always happy to show me style techniques too, even once when I was in just for nails. Simple eyebrow wax was $16, a bit higher than I'm used to paying even in Portland, but husband's haircut was only $19, a little less than he's used to, so I suppose it evens out! read more

Only place I trust to get my hair cut in town. Prices are higher, but affordable, and the ladies do a great job so tip well! If you get your hair cut they will wash it for you first off with great shampoos and conditioners, then get down to cutting and finish with a flat iron. The waxes are great, and so are the manis and pedis. Great for parties, they have a good set up. Occasionally you'll go there on a busy day or get someone new, so if you find a favorite stick with them or try to go on a slow day so you make sure you have their full attention. read more

Yesterday was our first visit to Hair, Body & Sole. I went with two of my sisters for a girls' afternoon. I had a mani-pedi with Clarissa, who was delightful! She did a very nice job of shellack on my fingernails, paying great attention to detail. I was especially impressed that she knew how to protect the integrity of my nails during the removal process. My sisters both had facials, and we're very pleased with them. The entire experience was delightful! Short version: Make sure you keep track of how much your stylist charges - they have levels of some kind. And things get added on. Mine cost 115. without a cut and my med blond I picked out ended up orange.-ish. I went to Grace because I have problem hair and she is supposed to be a specialist in color. After toning twice it was still orange. I had a special occasion I had to attend with my hair a color I hated. There was no apology from Grace, or the owner. She was polite when I went back for the second toning but I got the impression she thought I was being unreasonable. Writing a dissatisfied review isn't something I like to do, but I feel I need to inform others about my experience. It's taken me 2 months to try to be as positive and objective as I can. I told Grace from the start how I had a limited budget but had problem hair and needed a good color. And I was going away for an important party. At first she was pleasant and helpful. Before my hair was even dry I could tell it was way too light. She toned it. I told her it looked orange and she suggested I use purple shampoo..... I went home but called the next day to tell her it was just not a good color. She got me in right away and toned it again. It was better. But no apology and really gave me the impression that she thoughtI was being picky. I went on my trip and observed that my color got a bit redder each day. When I got back I talked to the owner. She suggested another stylist would be "a better fit" for me..... Since Grace had made me feel uncomfortable I said ok at first. I asked that she (the owner) do my hair but she didn't have time. So I made an appointment with the other stylist. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought that another processing wouldn't be good for hair already over processed so I canceled. Two months later, my hair still has an orange tone, and I still hate it. I use the purple shampoo to minimize the unwanted color but that's harsh on my hair. What to do? It's not quite red enough to be Ronald McDonald, and it's too cold to shave my head! read more

Meh...I have experienced much, much better. My first experience with this salon was trying to get an appointment with a specific stylist recommended to me by a friend. I had an appt. which they then moved once, then tried to move again the morning of the appt. I gave up and went somewhere else. After hearing rave reviews - again from my friend, I figured I'd try again. Everybody has a bad day on occasion (right). Nice atmosphere and I was greated in a friendly manner as I walked through the door to check in and it all went down hill from there. My stylist was running behind...by about a 1/2 hour and NO ONE bothered to tell me that upfront. Then during the hair cut, this product and that product were shoved down my throat even though I was specific in saying I did not need any products that day. The hair cut itself was nothing that I had asked for and I didn't have time to coach her through getting it right because I was now late for work because I only scheduled an hour and 1/2 to get my hair done. Overall impression of the place is that it's shiny and bright on the outside, but don't judge this book by it's cover - poor service, so-so hair cut, overpriced at 1/2 the price and their eye is on the bottom line, not on customer satisfaction. The lady Rachel was NOT friendly. She acted like she was better than everybody. She had no smile n was very unpleasant. She was unbelievable , if she hates her job so much she should go work elsewhere. I got a massage from another lady. Tall skinny ( don't remember her name ) she was very nice. BUT..... she asked me what do you need work on most. I told her my tail bone and feet. And guess what she did NOT touch my tail bone and 2 min on my feet. What the hell? I went here twice: Once for a massage and again for a Spa Day for my birthday which included a massage, facial, manicure, hair cut, and lunch. The first time I got a massage from Nora, I went because I got a coupon thing for a $50 massage. It was great. Nora did a wonderful job of working out the trouble spots on my back. She was very knowledgeable, listened to me, asked me good questions to find out the cause on my back stress, and gave great advice for preventing it and caring for it. I give Nora 5 stars. Now for the spa day. Unfortunately this was not as I expected. I've never had a Spa Day so what I imagined was a calm, quiet day where I got to be pampered, wear a robe, and drink champagne. It was not calm, rarely quiet, there were no robes or champagne. Here's how the day went... Upon arrival (10am) I walked into the noisy, busy salon and guided to the Spa room. I waited there for 15 minutes and the receptionist came to let me know there was a mishap with the scheduling. She was very apologetic. So my day got pushed back to 11:30am. Cristina did my facial. While she was knowledgeable and skilled and the facial felt good she was a bit unprofessional. Part of the spa environment is how the staff present themselves. She presented as a young girl who doesn't take herself or her job seriously. I also found it strange how often she had to go in and out of the room for supplies. It's a small building that isn't sound-proofed well, so opening the door let in a lot of noise. Next was lunch. A dry, 6-inch sub on white bread from Subway and sliced apples is not a spa day lunch. It is what you feed your child when you're running errands for the day and your kid gets cranky. A spa lunch would be like cheeses, fruits, vegetables, and hummus. Something healthy. As much as Subway wants you to think they are healthy, they are not. The "Spa room" is a small room (roughly 20ft by 9ft) that also doubles as a preparation space for staff. As I ate my lunch staff bustled around coming in and out, going from room to room. Talking and generally making the environment feel less and less like a Spa. At one point two staff sat and chatted a mere 3 feet away from me, pretending like I wasn't there, one talking about how the receptionist called him to ask him to come in early because of a mishap in the schedule (basically talking about me). Forty five minutes later I got up and found the receptionist out in the noisy salon to find out what was going on because 45 minutes seemed like a long time to wait. She had no idea I had been waiting that long and had me go into the manicure room and said the next person should be available soon. I waited another 5 minutes in there. The mani/pedi room was suppose to be another spa-like room. They had the calm music playing, but again, staff came in and out, leaving the door open so the calm music and environment had to compete with the top 40 pop music and the hurry of the busy, loud staff. Dalia did my nails and she did a good job. She was the only staff person all day that gave off a calm, spa-like, energy. I was a little disappointed that shellac polish cost extra, even with the spa package. During this time I was offered a glass a wine by the receptionist, another disappointment finding it was $3 bottle of Charles Shaw Cabernet. Basically the McDonald's of wine. I chose not to partake in a glass. I'm not a wine snob, I typically spend less than $12 on a bottle, but Charles Shaw isn't wine, it's grapes and chemicals. Dalia also did my hair cut. Again, she did a good job, was a little rough. But if I were to go back there for nails or hair, I'd go to Dalia again. I then waited 30 minutes for my massage (the part that was suppose to be the first thing I did that day). During that time the receptionist apologized to me again, she said that there's usually no waiting around. She also gave me a free gift certificate for a basic manicure. A nice gesture. But I don't really do manicures much, and considering my total wait time throughout the day (my birthday) was 2 hours and 45 minutes, a gift card for a $23 service didn't seem to fit. My massage was by Martin. He was hurried, business-like, and clunky. The massage was OK. Not my style. I'm sure he is good at the style of massage he does, but it wasn't a pampering, calming massage, it was more medical, harsh, businessy. Each individual service was decent. Nora and Dalia were great. I might go back for individual things here and there, but I would never suggest to anyone to purchase a spa package here. read more

I did three stars because my first experience was good, but unfortunately my second experience was terrible. Arrived for a full weave, and cut at 12:30pm, was out at 5pm. The stylist left me for her lunch break, for 45 min, then interrupted my appt for a consultation with another client, for 40 min, and talked to coworkers while I sat feeling awkward. She forgot to layer one side of my hair. I called, had to go back in to have it fixed, and left unhappy with how much money I spent. I felt disrespected in the worst way. Sad to say, I don't know where to go from here. I want my money back, and will update after I speak to the owner. I do not want to go back, but need resolution. read more

Recently I made an appointment to have my hair cut a considerable amount. I have really curly and often times frizzy hair that is difficult to deal with. It has been a long time since I last had it cut and was a bit nervous about doing so. To my amazement, Tara at Hair Body and Sole did an awesome job and eased my nervousness. She took the time first to find out what I was thinking and asked if I wanted her input. Of course I wanted her input which was much better than what I had thought. This was the first time I ever had my hair cut dry which is the only way to do it since my hair is so different when it is wet. Tara you rock and I will be back when I am ready to have it cut again. Victoria has excellent technique and gives me current styles and precision. It would be a four or five star if the stylist was ready for the customer with an appointment instead of trying to squeeze in extra customers, making those with appointments wait. Absolutely do not recommend this place. I was a regular customer for 3 years. Service got worse and worse. Rachel was supposed to be the manager yet she often double booked appointments and I had to wait a long time even though I had an appointment. Her hair cuts got worse and worse. She rarely spoke to me and never thanked me. I switched to Lisa, the owner, who gave me one good haircut and two bad ones. The last hair cut was crooked. Lisa has a beauty school in there and trains people on paying customers without their permission. That is what happened to my hair. Lisa was not paying attention to me and did a bad job because she was 'training' a new person without asking me if that was ok. She also has a foundation for cancer patients she runs out of this salon. Very depressing to say the least. There used be a lot of stylists there but now hardly anyone is there and the ones left are nasty. Vey expensive. The last time I went in Lisa did not even say thank you or good bye. Just walked away from me to do laundry and of course wanted 140.00 for that crappy service she did on my hair. I found a good stylist in Eugene who does an awesome job, is nice to me and is a lot less money! read more

This is not your typical salon. There is more of a rustic/chic feel, which was not very relaxing for a pedicure. Instead of a typical pedicure chair, I was seated up high in a chair with a bucket (literally a metal bucket) of water under my feet. The seating was very awkward and not very comfortable. I also got a manicure, which was pretty good. However, the polish on my fingernails and on my toenails was poorly applied and sloppy looking. read more

This is the best place in Corvallis for a haircut. Tiara cut my hair while I was at OSU, and I'm tempted to drive down from Portland just because she's so great! I really wanted to love this place, and I did for my first two cuts. After that the stylist I was seeing got 'bored' with me, she no longer took any time to discuss what I wanted with my hair and more often than not I would be left sitting half cut while she was on the phone. I am not a jerk customer, I am always friendly and I tip good. At my last appointment she told me my hair was to thick to blow dry and stuck me under the dryer for 30 MINUTES while she chatted on the phone...my hair is shoulder length and not that thick...I have never had a stylist do this anyplace. The part that burns me is that she is one of the older stylists (why I picked her) and should know how to treat her customers. I was also scheduled for a brow wax with her after my cut, I had to remind her 4 times, she seemed very annoyed that I was having her do it. She ended up leaving my eyebrows un-even.
