4 HOURS LATER...... (I tried to shorten this review... but it's all in the details on this one) I tried this place a few years ago and was not satisfied. I haven't been back until this past weekend for Pedi and nails. My friend wanted to go there together, and Im all about GIVING SMALL businesses a 2nd chance ***** I WAS THERE for FOUR HOURS!!! I paid a little extra for the lavender package for Pedi. The guy did a good job, but he completely messed up my toenail polish. Then, they sent me to a chair to get my nails done, and the girl was so inexperienced it took forever. I told her exactly what I wanted as far as shape, and she didn't get it. Finally, while she got upset, she told me I wanted oval, and filed one of my nails down to oval completely. (She had to sand down and replace it!) She had small, SHARP nails, that she kept cutting into my hand, and she filed my pointer finger so much, I still have a long cut. I kept saying "hurts", as she filed my finger skin down on all hands! She was acting like I was being ridiculous, but who actually wants to leave there bleeding like I did!!!! Then, she tried to do my nail polish, and Kept trying and trying! FINALLY, the one guy who knew English, and how I wanted my nails done, had to come over and assist. I ended up having to walk to the board to show them again, what I pointed out for my nails and what shape I wanted. THAT PART is crazy, because they're advertising it on a big board, not even just in the huge nail ring. THEN, I had to go back to the Pedi chair, and have my toes redone. The guy who spoke English, had to go over to an older guy- (Possibly the manager) and ask for toes to be redone. He kept looking at me before he said yes, kind of like this was all MY fault!!! I wasn't asking for something they couldnt SEE! Then, even though, I was there for FOUR hours, (NO lie!!!!!) it still cost me $125. (FULL PRICE) Is my time worth nothing? And $30 in tips (total) for everyone, as they still put in their time. It didn't seem right to me that they weren't taught correctly. My friend left after two hours, AND she couldn't believe I was still there. So if you want nails done, in a reasonable amount of time, corrently, and someone that takes care not to file your fingers, SKIP THIS PLACE!!!! I spent my whole Saturday there and missed ALL my plans!! **** Also.. o quite a few other gals there, who have a much louder voice than I do, complaining about how long it was taking too!! 1 Star for the hero of the day! Ever since Danny took over the customer service has gotten worse and worse. I had a horrible experience in this establishment today. 1st the woman at the door is quite lazy. She sits in a chair with her bare feet resting on the back of the host stand shouting at the customers. 2nd problem was even though I had an appointment they took a walk in before I was serviced. 3rd problem was the woman who did my sister's nails was rude and unprofessional. Instead of giving her an ombre with glitter polish like she asked for; she did encapsulated glitter nails. That cost more and forces you to get a whole new set the next time you come. She tried to explain that and the nail tech proceeded to yell at her and continue anyway telling her she can just get powder the next time. That would also be more expensive. 4th problem was my nail tech refused to give me designs even though I was willing to pay for it. 5th and final issue was the employees yelling at each other and having arguments while walking through the shop. I was going to pay for more services but I won't do it there. I shouldn't have tipped them. That will be the last time I give them a dime. read more

So I've been to Michelle's Nails and Spa two times. Both times I got my nails done by Hannah. Both times I did walk-ins. The first time I called in. The second time I did not call in but they are pretty good about taking walk-ins right away. I highly recommend this place. It can be a little pricey but I mean getting your nails done is a pricey thing. I recommend Hannah to get your nails done by because she is very gentle and she cares about how your nails look. The first time I ever got my nails done with acrylics was by Hannah and I got green nails with a white accent nail. The second time I got my nails done by Hannah I got baby pink nails with a marble accent nail and a matte topcoat. Hannah is very sweet and I recommend her nail services. Disappointed. I went in with a friend to get a full set. Owner did my and most of my friends nails. My middle finger nail is so crooked and when I asked him to fix it he did a half ass file job. He did the same to my friend. He painted my nails but sent my friend off to some tiny guy to pain her nails. The dude got paint on her finger and cooked her hand before wiping it and then tried to file it off. He also did a sloppy job in general. After trying almost every nail salon in Racine and having issues with my nails at every single one I decided to try out Michelle's with my mom. I called to check their availability and they got us in an hour after I called for 2 pedicures and 2 full sets. They were very understaffed but treated my mom and I amazing regardless. The pedicures were amazing and so so relaxing. Immediately after we got our full sets done. I had very little reference photos but my nail tech perfectly understood what I was getting at and gave me exactly what I asked for and more. I hate that I still have to give it 1 star when they deserve 0 star ! I went in to get my nails done and eyebrows wax and came out fuming KEVIN I believe that's he's name if they have me the name right just did whatever he wanted with my eyebrows after I specifically told him not to wax the top he decided he would do whatever he wanted and left me with out any eyebrows then he claimed he was making them even , I had very tick eyebrows and he literally left me with a string , and they weren't even !! my guess is that he mess up waxing them and just keep going into he almost left me with out anything when I told him what he did it was like he didn't care and walk away from me then I had to tell him to wax the bottom of my eyebrows that what I went for and he didn't even touch that i don't even think he know how to wax eyebrows I ask to talk to the owner and they just keep talking in there language witch I feel it's disrespectful but I mean they just don't care I didn't see no certificate with his name, saying that he is certified to wax I would like to get contact by the owner or whoever is in charge of this place it is not OK to do this to a customer you don't decide how you want to wax ,shape peoples eyebrows read more

I was referred here by a co-worker. I was a little skeptical at first because nail salons I have gone to in the past weren't anything spectacular. But I was wrong.... The moment I walked through the door I was greeted by one of the employees and I didn't have to wait more than 3 minutes before I was brought to the table to get my nails done. The nail stylist I had was very friendly as well as were all the other employees there when I was there. The stylist did an awesome job on my nails too (see picture). The atmosphere was very nice too. The colors of the salon were perfect and complimentary and made you feel relaxed. The place was remarkably clean! I felt like I could eat off the floors. First time here and they definitely "nailed it"! Very inconspicuous looking from the outside but surprisingly beautiful ambiance on the inside. Spa music. Pretty feminine decor. Friendly service. Very disappointed! Stopped in for a mani and a pedi. The place is really dirty...I'm not picky put the floors were unclean, the chairs were dingy and I question whether the towels they usedd were clean. The women who did both my pedi and my mani did NOT say 1 word to me the entire time. She would tap my leg or hand indicated what she needed. I understand the language barrier, but I didn't get a smile, a kind word or any communciation for the entire time I was there. She allowed me to pay and TIP before she painted my nails which was nice so I wouldn't smuddge...I didn't even get a thank you for a NICE tip that I gave her! Went there while on town during vacations. The girl who did my mani was awesome! I needed something more natural since I had an event but I would have loved for her to do a nice and more colorful design on my nails. I believe her name is Ella (sorry I should have posted this review earlier) and was super nice. The owner was nice too and overall everyone who I interacted with. Definitely going back whenever I'm back in town! We had such wonderful service on our visit! I'm from out of town, and I will never get a mani pedi anywhere else!! Such a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Especially in the pedicure room! A little pricy, but so worth every dollar. They have a great color selection and such comfortable chairs and massage chairs! The employees were very pleasant, friendly and polite. After my 3rd trip into this salon in 1 week the owner was completely unapologetic, rude, and had no regard for my inconvenience of having to stop in to get yet another nail fixed. Gel polish is advertised to last 2 weeks. I work a desk job; never had a problem before with having to fix a nail prior to a 2 week turn around appointment. If I could give management a negative star I would. I was treated so disrespectfully while I was patronising this establishment. The day before I was going to go on vacation I entered Michelle's with the idea that I would get a pedicure for me and my mother, as well as, a manicure for myself. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the nail tech and then approached by a man who I can only guess was the manger or owner. He asked what what we wanted done that day and I let him know that my mom and I wanted a pedicure and that I wanted a aryclic or gel manicure. I asked him how much it would cost for either and that's when the drama started he asked what design I wanted for my nails and I showed him a picture on my phone. As soon as he saw the picture he became argumentative and began to say that the picture showed a ombre set of nails even though I kept repeating that I did not want ombre I just want the nail shape and one color. He continues to speak saying "you see you come in and want these nails but these thing cost money" He eventually after 5 minutes of debate says we start off at 45 for gel but with matte and ombre it will be extra. And because I didn't want to keep arguing over ombre I just said okay it's higher than I wanted but give me a minute while I adjust my budget. Now if you remember I was going to go on vacation the next day I had my money for my vacation to use for my nails I just wanted to make sure that I wanted to stretch my nail budget. So at the exact moment that I had decided to spend the money on my nails I hear the owner saying out loud to the nail tech "these people come in with these pictures and they think it be cheap but we aren't the mall we take our time here, if you want cheap nails go to the mall". That was the moment I decided that I didn't want my nails done there but because my mom had already started her pedicure I decided to wait for her to finish and to just not get my nails done at all. I have never been treated so rudely over flipping nails there is no reason that he wouldn't have been able to give me one concrete price unless he runs his business on price gouging everyone who comes in there. It was the most ridiculous crap I have ever put up with. I can only assume that his treatment of us was so terrible because of what we were wearing which were leggings, sweaters, I was wearing a hat because my hair wasn't done and my mother was wearing a head wrap because she just had brain surgery and doesn't like to show her head! Or the most obvious reason because we are black. I will never recommend this place to anyone and I will be sharing my experience with anyone who will listen. read more

I've usually hated going to get my nails done, because the environment never made me feel comfortable, but let me just say this place was different....in a good way. I went in just wanting to get a shellac manicure but ended up getting a full set of nails. I had called in advanced to make an appointment, and was able to book it immediately which was really nice. From the moment I walked in I felt very welcomed, and the gentlemen who I believe was the owner was very nice. He greeted me by my first name which I was shocked cause usually nail salons have a bad rep of doing this. I picked my nail color (they have a ton to choose from) and waited to get started. I was offered water, and was sat at a station pretty fast. The only thing I will say was that I sat at the station for a couple of minutes while my nail technician started my nails, but the chairs were really comfortable so i didn't mind at all! From the beginning to end everyone was super nice and friendly. I could just tell how well all the employees worked together! I think this has to be one of the best nail salons in Racine. My sister and I scheduled and appointment for 1:30pm and we arrived there on time. When we came in, there was no kind of greeting or welcoming whatsoever. We stood there for 10 minutes as all the employees/owner walked right by us and did not speak or say a word. I noticed another girl sitting down waiting so I asked her was she waiting long and she told me her appointment was for 12:30pm. An entire hour or waiting. I asked her if anyone had welcomed her or every spoken to her and she said no. She said that's just how they are there. My sister and I took as seat and waiting another 15 minutes to see if anyone would come and speak but nothing. How do you have an establishment but do not speak to your customers? I think it's rude to not welcome people when they come in, and we had an appointment and arrived on time. i like going to bella, because she's very nice and her designs are amazing. plus there is a wide range of colors to choose from. the business as a whole, however needs work. the owner is always busy and has his young daughter there that he tends to. not to mention that having an appointment doesn't seem to matter here since when i came in, the owner left my nails to soak for 40 minutes so he could take another customer. i told him i wanted my acrylics off and that i wanted shellac, but with my nails uncut. he cut them short and didn't fully paint the nail. he we also very rushed. another time, i made an appointment with the owner. i got there and everyone acted confused and said they didn't have me in the book. after acting like i was a bother- one women rushed my shellac nails only for them to peel two days later. overall i wouldn't recommend unless you're going to bella. read more

I have been a customer of Michelle's Nails and Spa since they opened but the service I received yesterday was not how a loyal paying customer should ever be treated. The owner's pregnant wife asked if the water was okay and when I told her it could be warmer, I got the deep frustrated sigh. As she put very hot water in (I feel she was being passive aggressive) a piece fell off into the water. The maintenance man, the tech and the owner all tried to fix it by putting their ungloved hands in the water where my feet were supposed to go. When I requested clean water, I once again got the deep frustrated sigh and was told to "go over there and sit down" (pointing to a corner). I told the tech that we were not off to a good start and that I would wait for a different tech. I don't know what she told her husband but he then approached me with a big attitude and said I was stressing his 7 month pregnant wife out. I was then directed to a new chair with lukewarm water that was previously run and sitting there for only God know how much time. The only reason I stayed is I had a gift card that I had to use. Instead of the $45 pedicure I usually get I requested the basic $28 because I wasn't going to spend any more money there. My entire family goes here because of my recommendation when they open.
