Found Pro Nails on Yelp and it's located across the street from Gurnee Mills Mall. I called and I was able to get scheduled for a pedicure and a full set in the next 30 minutes which was great. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered. From the outside, the salon didn't look like much. But coming in it was vibrant and busy, and pretty spacious. Terri was the one assigned to me to do a pedi first. She did a great job on my pedicure. I just got the basic pedi with a no chip polish. Terri was very efficient and did a great job on my toes. Next - full set time. It's been a while since I got a set done, so I wanted something that was neutral. I showed Terri a picture of the ombré set I wanted and she did a good job. I usually judge a nail tech by their speed, the nail shape and how well they can file to precision, and how natural the nail looks after and whether or not it looks too thick. Terri did a great job with all of the above. My only critique is that she left some gel residue under the nail and also on my fingertips. I didn't notice until I got home and had to pick at them to clean them up afterwards. Overall I was happy with the service and will be coming back again.

They have a wide variety of colors for any service. Today I saw Irene, and her attention to detail is fantastic. The gal at the front desk did let me know Irene is deaf, but that she would be able to translate if I needed anything. Fortunately, I know enough ASL to spell, say please, thank you, yes, no, sorry, and beautiful. And honestly, I was really happy to not have to try to awkwardly make conversation, with 3 small kids at home I was happy to just sit quietly and enjoy my service. I am extremely disappointed by the way I was treated at Michelle Nails by Danny, the owner\…read more About two weeks ago, my family and I were leaving for vacation, and I wanted a chrome color to match my vacation outfits\. Michelle Nails didn't have the chrome color I wanted, so I still went to Danny for my regular fill, but without a design\. After that, I went to another local nail salon that had the exact chrome color I was looking for\. As a customer, I believe I have the right to choose where I receive different services\. At my most recent appointment with Danny, the first thing he asked me was, "Why didn't you go to whoever did your chrome?" I was caught completely off guard\. I respectfully explained that I went elsewhere because he didn't have the color I wanted, and that I should be able to choose where I spend my money\. From that moment on, his attitude toward me changed\. I've been a loyal client for years\. I regularly pay between $150 and $180, plus a tip, for every appointment\. I also bring my own nail designs, many of which I've later seen recreated on other clients\. Despite how uncomfortable I felt during this appointment, I still paid the full $180 and left a tip because, as always, he does beautiful work\. After I paid, he told me that I could no longer come back and that this would be my last service with him\. He said I should go back to the salon that did my chrome\. I left feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and honestly discriminated against because I chose to get one part of my nail service somewhere else when he couldn't provide what I wanted\. No customer should be made to feel punished for spending their own money where they choose\. Has anyone else had a similar experience with Michelle Nails or Danny? I'd love to hear your thoughts\. I believe customers deserve to be treated with respect, regardless of where they choose to receive other services\. Not to mention a year or so ago he banned me for going to another nail salon for my pedicures\.

My MIL is still very cautious despite covid restrictions being lifted and she was so excited to hear that we would be the only two in the salon if we booked together. Very exclusive. The salon is beautifully decorated and immaculate. The waiting area is comfortable and so are the beautiful chairs they use for pedicures. Our technicians were very thoughtful about the warmth of the water. The attention to detail is amazing. From them paying attention to problem areas on my nails and calluses to the tray they brought out the exfoliating scrubs on. In the back there are two cute cabanas to get your manicures done. The entire place is an EXPERIENCE. My nails looked beautiful when we were done and the massage was heavenly for my feet. I have my hands in water all day everyday and my gel manicure lasted forever. This event happened months ago but I've never been able to take it off my chest and I feel like it…read morereally needs to be said. The stylists are fantastic and really good at what they do the only issue is the boss/manager.. she's very controlling and not the nicest when it comes to helping her other stylists. I had a horrible experience due to her not listening to my stylist choosing proper colors which led to (boss deciding to take over cause she just felt like it) turned my highlights BRIGHT orange when we agreed with my stylist we were trying to go for a nice deep auburn. I felt horrible not just for my hair but for my stylist.- before I got to this conclusion I figured she knew what she was doing anyways so I didn't see it as a big deal, she even looked at the photos and said 'oh yeah, I know what to do I know what we're going for, she needs these mixes instead' my stylist went back and forth with her about the colors she chose but the manager insisted on her pick. This is probably the harshest review I've ever done but I still can't believe it happened to me. I hope if she does she this review it's just a small reminder to 'stay in your lane' and trust your coworker's decisions when they're one on one with their own clients. Luckily I was able to get it redone and done properly without the stress of the manager coming around and wanting to take over again.

I did everything that was asked and Gwen stopped communicating with me after I sent a couple of texts asking for price ranges. She never called me back or apologized. I was willing to pay good $ for my daughter's hair for her special day instead I was ignored. Thankfully I was able to find a wonderful salon that braided my girls hair in short notice. I made sure to tell anyone and everyone my experience with Gwen and guide them away.
